Despite the weather spoiling the final day at several grounds, we still had an exciting finish to round three of this year's County Championship with Middlesex beating Glamorgan in the final session and Kent holding out under pressure to draw with Gloucestershire.

Earlier in the day, Essex picked up their first Division One victory of the summer despite a brilliant innings of 88 by Worcestershire's Ethan Brookes, with Jamie Porter taking 6-52.

Essex are third in the Division One table, two points behind Sussex and Nottinghamshire, while Leicestershire are two points clear of Kent at the top of Division Two.

Thanks for your company over the past four days. We'll be back on Friday from 10:30 to do it all again.

  3. KENT DRAW WITH GLOUCESTERSHIREpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 21 April
    Breaking

    Kent 393 & 124-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

Kent survive a gripping final session at Canterbury and escape with a draw against Gloucestershire.

The game ends after Grant Stewart hits back to back fours off Josh Shaw, but the home side were certainly feeling the pressure after Tom Price's inspired spell of 4-33 with the new ball.

England's Zak Crawley stood firm, though, and finishes with 54 not out, which will certainly make him feel better after a slow start to the season.

Miles Hammond top scored with 89 earlier in the day before Gloucestershire declared with a lead of 412 - and they may be wondering what might have happened if they had done so earlier.

    Kent 393 & 116-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

    Unbelievable.

Zak Crawley plays forward in defence, it spins back between bat and pad, just misses the stumps and runs away for four byes.

    One over left.

  5. Postpublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 & 112-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

Ollie Price spins one into Zak Crawley, it loops up via bat and pad but into a gap to the right of leg slip. Was that Gloucestershire's last chance to dislodge the England opener?

  6. Postpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 & 112-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

Grant Stewart flashes at a wide one from Josh Shaw and thick inside edge brings him four to fine leg, the ball just missing his stumps.

Stewart has eight, Zak Crawley is 54 not out and there are two overs left.

    Dan Whiting

Both sides have played their part in an amazing game of cricket.

Credit to both and I tell you what, it hasn't been boring, it's been fantastic entertainment.

And credit to the ground staff here at Canterbury for preparing a wicket that's been a good cricket wicket

  8. Postpublished at 18:10 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 & 107-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

Grant Stewart is playing Ollie Price as late as possible with soft hands. There is turn and bounce there for the spinner but Stewart survives a tidy maiden.

Three overs - 18 balls - left in an enthralling final session.

  9. Postpublished at 18:07 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 & 107-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

Zak Crawley dabs Josh Shaw away for a single, he is content to let Grant Stewart to take the bulk of the strike.

Stewart hangs onto it by driving the final ball to mid-off for one.

    Four more to come.

  12. Warwickshire draw with Nottinghamshirepublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 21 April
    Breaking

    Warwicks 93 & 181-6 v Notts 367

It's officially been confirmed after an hour of going back off for rain, Warwickshire have drawn with Nottinghamshire in Division One.

Warwickshire ended with much relief at a draw, having been outplayed for the first three days but rain prevented play until 3.45pm today, leaving Nottinghamshire's bowlers just 36 overs at their disposal on a flattening pitch.

Overnight pair Ed Barnard (40 not out) and Olly Hannon-Dalby (seven not out) blocked their way to safety as Warwickshire ended on 181-6, still 93 runs behind the visitors with just four second-innings wickets remaining.

Bears take 11 points while Notts leave Edgbaston with 14 points.

  13. 'Game has been played in good spirit'published at 18:00 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 & 105-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio Kent

This game has been played in good spirit between these two sides.

You see the players warming up and they have a chat with each other in the morning.

They've played it hard on the pitch but fair.

for Zak Crawleypublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 & 103-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

Zak Crawley unfurls a perfect cover drive and reaches his first 50 of the season from 100 balls faced with a boundary.

Josh Shaw appeals for leg-before two balls later but it's missing leg.

  15. Postpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 & 98-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec

Grant Stewart risks calamity by going back into his stumps but pushes into a gap and takes a single to end Ollie Price's over.

Is that a sensible move given that Zak Crawley is an England player at the other end?

    Seven more to be bowled.

WICKETpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 21 April

    Finch c Hammond b O Price 1 (Kent 393 & 97-6 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec)

Harry Finch tamely lobs back towards bowler Ollie Price who doesn't think he can make up the ground to take the catch and doesn't try a dive.

It doesn't matter as a bit of extra bounce finds the shoulder and Miles Hammond pulls in another superb slip catch.

Three men in short on the leg-side for new batsman Grant Stewart.

  17. MIDDLESEX WIN BY NINE WICKETSpublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 21 April

    Middx 470-9d & 59-1 (target 59) v Glamorgan 199 & 329

Low full toss from Ned Leonard is walloped into the stand by Leus du Plooy. Six more needed.

And he does it with another maximum to give Middlesex 21 points and the win and get their season properly up and running.

The weather made that a little more nervy than was necessary but Middlesex get the job done in the end.

It was a win built on the foundation of an excellent first innings effort with Max Holden (107) Leus du Plooy (89) and Ben Geddes (83) to the fore.

Toby Roland-Jones produced figures of 6-112 in the match including 3-44 in a first innings from Glamorgan that hamstrung them as the match progressed.

While they fought back well in the second innings they were always behind the pace and remain without a win so far.

WICKETpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 21 April

    Evison b Shaw 15 (Kent 393 & 96-5 v Glos 472 & 333-5 dec)

    Gone.

Joey Evison is undone by one that keeps a little low and flattens his off stump.

Josh Shaw has his first wicket and Harry Finch toddles out to join Zak Crawley, presumably with no great enthusiasm in this situation.

  19. Postpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 21 April

    Middx 470-9d & 46-1 (target 59) v Glamorgan 199 & 329

Asitha Fernando has another over and it has proved a costly with 12 coming from it.

Pick of the shots is a flamingo cut shot to the rope by Leus du Plooy who manages to find a route through the four fielders arranged on the short boundary.

    Just 13 needed now.

  20. Postpublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 21 April

    Nine overs left.

Still no return for Tom Price.

    Josh Shaw continues.
