    Warwicks 93 & 163-6 v Notts 367

Early lunch was taken at Edgbaston but since then the weather has yet to show any signs of improving and the covers remain firmly on in the middle.

Remember, Nottinghamshire need just four more wickets to wrap this one up with Warwickshire still trailing by 111 runs.

    Breaking

    Derbyshire 307 & 202-3 v Northamptonshire 500-8 dec

The umpires decide there is no point sitting around watching the rain fall any longer and abandon the game at Derby as a draw without any play on the final day.

Derbyshire were waiting to resume their second innings with a nine-run lead - with Wayne Madsen 62 not out and Brooke Guest on 12.

Northamptonshire take 16 points and Derbyshire 12.

    Lancs 263 & 16-3 v Leics 491-8d

It's bad news if you're a Leicestershire fan - the rain continues to come down at Old Trafford.

Not a single ball has been bowled so far today in south Manchester and the covers look like they're going nowhere quickly as the lunch interval arrives.

There are now eight fully professional county teams in women's cricket, replacing the regional structure of recent years.

They kick off their season with the opening round of One-Day Cup games on Wednesday.

Durham will be at home to Essex, Surrey take on Somerset at Beckenham, The Blaze face Lancashire and Warwickshire play host to Hampshire.

Surrey have announced the signing of Ireland's Amy Hunter for the first seven rounds of ODC matches.

If you are free on Wednesday, do go along to your nearest ground and watch the action live. Play starts at 10:30.

  13. 'Can Surrey put Sussex under pressure?'published at 13:17 British Summer Time

    Sussex 435 & 14-0 v Surrey 490 - lunch

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Surrey will feel as if they can still win this game of cricket and the way that they batted yesterday proves that.

We came off far too early yesterday and prematurely. So we probably lost 15 overs last night when we should have been out there playing cricket.

But Surrey have a lead and this is all about can they put Sussex under some pressure on what is still a good pitch to bat on?

  14. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 13:13 British Summer Time

    Middx 470-9d v Glamorgan 199 & 269-7 (trail by 2 runs)

Middlesex have made two breakthroughs but have been frustrated by the efforts of Chris Cooke (41*) and Ned Leonard (19*) as they chase the win.

Glamorgan are perhaps staving off the inevitable with them still trailing by two runs and Toby Roland-Jones will feel he had a very good lbw shout on Cooke which was not given.

But it is swings and roundabouts with regard to luck as Kiran Carlson was given caught behind when he clearly did not think his bat was anywhere near.

In any case, barring a deluge, a first victory of Middlesex's campaign is sure waiting for them after lunch.

  15. Lunch at Hovepublished at 13:08 British Summer Time

    Sussex 435 & 14-0 (trail by 41 runs) v Surrey 490

We are heading for a draw at Hove and the players are heading for a bowl of spag bol or something else warming.

It has been a case of picking up whatever you can with both sides hoovering up bonus points – Surrey maximum batting and Sussex all three bowling.

The points for the win are set to elude both though.

  16. 'The ball has darted around more today'published at 13:08 British Summer Time

    Sussex 435 & 14-0 (trail by 37 runs) v Surrey 490

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

The floodlights have been on all morning and the ball has darted around more today than the previous three days.

  17. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time

    Durham 427 v Yorks 307 & 232-5 (lead by 112 runs)

That is the end of the morning session and with 100 runs added at a cost of just one wicket, that of George Hill, you would have to say the morning has been Yorkshire's.

Jonny Bairstow has scurried and walloped his way to 66 and Matt Revis is with him on 24. The lead is up to 112 and with worse weather expected later is this slipping away from the hosts?

  18. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:04 British Summer Time

    Kent 393 v Glos 472 & 233-3

Gloucestershire successfully negotiate Jack Leaning's final over of a productive morning session at the Spitfire Ground.

The visitors added 121 to their overnight 112-2 for the loss of Ollie Price, following a stand of 133 with Miles Hammond.

Opener Hammond is still there on 88 not out but they lead Kent by 312, and a declaration will surely follow in the not too distant future.

  19. Postpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time

    Sussex 435 & 8-0 (trail by 47 runs) v Surrey 490

Tom Haines puts Gus Atkinson away for two fours, one clipped off his legs and the other cut through backward point, as Sussex are up and running in their second dig.

  20. Postpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time

Just a quick reminder for anyone joining us fairly recently that there has been no play so far in the games at Edgbaston, Old Trafford and Derby because of rain.
