    Surrey 144-2 v Somerset 283

Once again, Surrey will be looking to their most in form batter, Dom Sibley to anchor the innings after two quick wickets for Somerset this afternoon.

Sibley defends on the front foot facing Josh Davey and he turns the third ball leg side for one to move to 41.

Jamie Smith is off the mark fifth ball, getting forward and across to drive Davey down to long on. Glorious shot.

He's on his toes, driving the next ball on the up through cover for three.

    So stylish.

    BBC Radio Bristol

Gloucestershire need to strike while the iron's hot.

It's a good chance to grab a few wickets after the fall of Logan Van Beek.

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 29-0

Dan Hughes picks up his second four with a flashing drive from the crease through point off Brett Hutton.

    Leicestershire 208-7 v Gloucestershire 252

The visitors find themselves seven wickets down now as Logan Van Beek is bowled expertly by Dominic Goodman who now has figures of 5-50.

The batting point for 250 runs is looking a lot further away now for the Foxes as another quick wicket could really disrupt their charge, the game is shaping up to be a very even contest.

  6. 'It's so tough for batters'published at 14:27 British Summer Time 26 April

    Worcestershire 162 & 24-3 v Durham 136

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

I'm looking at it from a batter's point of view - it's very, very tough out there, there's just no way out of it. You just have to keep going. You're being battered and you just have to wait for the next one.

It reminds me of batting against that West Indies attack in the 80s. Going out to bat against them. I'm not suggesting Ben Raine and Jake Ball are their equivalent, but the mindset - you can bat as well as it's possible to bat for an hour and half against that attack, duck and dive, let the ball go, steal the odd run, and then you're out for 11 after an hour and a half, playing as well as you have ever played.

You could play brilliantly here for a couple of hours and be out for 20...

Ollie Pope departs for oneImage source, Rex Features

Out! That bounced on a length and nipped back.

Ollie Pope looks to cut Lewis Gregory and chops the ball on to his stumps.

One Test player is replaced by another as Jamie Smith walks to the crease.

  8. Postpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey 136-1 v Somerset 283

Ollie Pope defends Josh Davey down the ground.

He's half forward with a bit of uncertainty as he pushes a drive just short of second slip and away for the first run of his innings.

He got a hand to that, actually.

Suddenly batting looks an altogether tougher occupation than it appeared to be for much of this morning.

  9. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 25-0

More runs for Tom Haines. Has he got a train to catch?

He follows up a delightful straight drive down the ground off Fergus O'Neill with an ungainly inside edge off a crooked bat that beats the keeper down the leg side for four more.

But they all count and the gap is down from 131 to 106 in just four overs.

  10. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 26 April

    Worcestershire 162 & 20-3 v Durham 136

The first slightly loose ball from Ben Raine is pounced on by Henry Nicholls, cutting away to the rope to take Worcestershire to 20-3, a lead of 46.

Raine replies with the next ball, beating the edge as the Kiwi comes forward, and sending the cordon up in appeal, but it flicked the pad at best.

  11. Raine takes three in two overspublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 26 April

    Worcestershire 16-3 lead by 42

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

As I walked from the press box to the pavilion the first wicket had just fallen.

As I climbed the steps wicket number two fell and by the time I had looked at the scoreboard and written down the details number three came along.

    This is just daft.

  12. 'Somerset will feel a bit happier now'published at 14:17 British Summer Time 26 April

    Surrey 134-1 v Somerset 283

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It was off the glove, it's a good catch from Aldridge.

Burns has a grin on his face, he's sort of saying to himself why was that one waiting for me?

It's a bit of encouragement there, straight off his glove and Josh Davey has the breakthrough.

Somerset will feel a bit happier now.

  13. Postpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 16-0

This is a bright start for Sussex, who are taking a few risks to try and wipe out this innings deficit quickly.

Daniel Hughes drives Fergus O'Neill to cover point via a thick outside edge for four and he carves Brett Hutton high over point in the next over for four more.

Sussex scoring at five an over at this early stage.

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 26 April

    #bbccricket

Derbyshire's Luis Reece has departed for 60, run out at the non-striker's end pushing for a single which wasn't there, ending a 148-run stand with Martin Andersson, who is battered and bruised but into the 80s. The hosts are 397-6 against Middlesex.

    Burns c Aldridge b Davey 76 (Surrey 129-1 v Somerset 283)

Runs are flowing for Surrey as Rory Burns with another trademark clip through the leg side off Migael Pretorius.

Jack Leach has been doing some stretches at long leg and he may be on for a long spell later this afternoon.

Josh Davey is bowling for now and Burns runs a leg bye off the thigh guard.

Single to Dom Sibley driving down the ground to reach 36.

Out! Somerset strike in the last ball of the 36th over!

Extra bounce on a length and Burns has gloved it to Kasey Aldridge, tumbling but holding on at a lone slip.

Play that! Very steep bounce on a length and Burns rocked back to try and evade it.

Ollie Pope is in at three for Surrey.

  16. 'You feel that's a big wicket'published at 14:09 British Summer Time 26 April

    Leicestershire 201-6 v Gloucestershire 252

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Ian Holland's innings has been admirable but he goes after getting past 50.

You feel that's a big wicket.

A hugely helpful amount of runs, but done in a tremendous amount of time.

  17. Postpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 26 April

    Worcestershire 162 & 11-3 v Durham 136

Adam Hose and Henry Nicholls combined for 55 runs for the fourth wicket in the first innings, the biggest stand of the entire match.

They're going to need to do something similar here as sunny New Road has turned into a pressure cooker.

    They have eight so far...

At Bristol the returning Dom Goodman has 4-45 and has picked up the key wicket of Ian Holland, trapped lbw for 52.

Leicestershire are 200-6, still 52 adrift of Gloucestershire's total, though Ben Cox remains on 35*.

  19. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 8-0

Brett Hutton is wide of off stump at first but subtly adjusts his line to get Tom Haines driving and missing outside off stump.

The fourth ball is full, wide and driven to backward point via a thick outside edge for four.

Four more stroked more convincingly between third slip and gully off the back foot.

In the air for a while but safe enough.

Aussie bowling all rounder Fergus O'Neill will bowl from the other end.

  20. Play resumes at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 26 April

    Notts 300 v Sussex 169 & 0-0

Sussex openers Dan Hughes and Tom Haines are in the middle with a mountain to climb.

Specifically a 131-run mountain to clear the deficit.

That seemed unlikely this morning when Notts slipped to 210-8.

Good recovery engineered by Liam Patterson-White and Josh Tongue, who scored 81 between them.

Brett Hutton will bowl to Haines.
