England captain Heather Knight: "I think it is a brilliant effort. Losing your opening bowler in the first over and to rally round on a flat wicket in this heat was outstanding.

"The fact we kept picking up wickets really helped us and we had a brilliant last 10.

"We have tried to build that seam depth as it is a key area given the schedule. Hopefully Kate pulls through ok but we also had lots of options with different attributes."

On chasing a revised total: "It was just adjusting our tempo slightly for the match. We knew it was still a very good wicket. I thought Tammy did an amazing job and set the tone early. Being under pressure in a must-win game, to win it pretty comfortably is really pleasing."

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt: "We started well with the bat but came up a bit short at the end, losing a few too many wickets so we couldn't maximise the final 10 overs. I think 260-280 and it would have been a different game."

On making four changes: "The selectors had the future in mind with the next 50-over World Cup being next year. We have to see all possible combinations and I guess that is what they felt was right on the day. For me it doesn't change too much. Just unfortunate it didn't come off today."

On dealing with revised total: "We knew the only way to win was to take wickets early, which we did. But then they had one big partnership that we struggled to break."

On what take from the series: "A lot of learnings. It is a young group so we will do a lot of reflections. It has already started in the changing room. It was also a strong performance from England, they have been a tough competitor."

Player of the series, England spinner Charlie Dean: "I think I've got better as we've grown into the series, I was happy with how I bowled today and I'm always happy to contribute to team wins.

"There's been a lot more bounce on offer on these pitches so I've learned a lot from that, especially going into the Test match. It was nice to have some turn and bounce to work with.

"I aspire to be an all-rounder in this team so I'll take every opportunity I can get with the bat. But saying that, I'm glad I wasn't needed today! I'm working really hard on it and improving my range of shots to try and push up the order."

Player of the match Tammy Beaumont: "I thought they might move Danni Wyatt-Hodge to open given it was effectively a T20 match. I just saw it as a good wicket and wanted to score off as many balls as possible. When you come up against some of the best in the world in Marizanne Kapp and Nonkululeko Mlaba you have to be on it.

"Amy Jones is playing beautifully at the minute in that middle order. The whole order is great to play with at the moment. There is a height difference but there are also different strengths which make us hard to bowl to."

The Test match will be a very special occasion. Despite losing both series, South Africa are a team on the up and it will be very evenly contended.

That was a long old match, but England got there in the end and it means Heather Knight's side take both white-ball series.

The two sides will now dig out their whites for the only Test match of this multi-format series, which starts on Bloemfontein on Sunday.

South Africa will have thought that they were well on top of this game at the start of this innings. Beaumont has been detrimental to this South Africa side.

    In a word - no!

The next delivery is full and on leg stump, but Tammy Beaumont clips the ball off her pads and away fine for four to secure victory.

England win by six wickets and take the series 2-1.

Amy Jones pushes the next ball for a single to move to 40.

Just three runs needed - can she reach her half-century?

  11. Eng 148-4published at 18.4 overs

Another brilliant shot from Amy Jones, who plays a powerful cut on the front foot through point and to the rope.

    And four more!

It wasn't much more than a push from Jones, but it beat the cover fielder and raced away on this slick outfield.

England's target now in single figures. South Africa look beaten.

    Target 152

Well played, Anneke Bosch. Even with the game seemingly lost she dives full stretch on the boundary to claw the ball back and save two runs. That's the kind of commitment a captain likes to see.

England are still coasting to victory though.

  13. Eng 133-4published at 17 overs

Ayabonga Khaka, who went for 19 from her first two overs, comes back into the attack with South Africa needing snookers.

But she doesn't really threaten and England can comfortably run six singles.

We have just seen a shot of a beaming Heather Knight on the England balcony. She has certainly cheered up after that furious reaction to losing her wicket earlier.

In contrast, Laura Wolvaardt looks pretty deflated and resigned to defeat.

England should see this game home as long as they don't lose anymore wickets. These two have nullified any threat from South Africa.

Laura Wolvaardt could have kept one of Marizanne Kapp's overs back for this point in the game.

  15. Eng 125-4published at 16 overs

England 25 runs from 42 balls

Nonkululeko Mlaba has had a bit of a nightmare there.

Tammy Beaumont drives straight to Mlaba at mid-off but she seems to lose the ball in the lights, gets nowhere near it and the ball races over her head for four.

There is no luck about this, though. Amy Jones drives an over-pitched delivery from Masabata Klaas gloriously through the covers for another boundary.

Another healthy over for England - 13 from it.

  16. Eng 114-4published at 15 overs

Amy Jones is seeing it like a beachball too as she powers a short delivery from Annerie Dercksen through the on-side for four.

    11 off the over.

Tammy Beaumont's half-century has come at a good time. She was not even part of the T20 squad but she has proved that she can do the business.

Tammy Beaumont pulls a short Annerie Dercksen delivery for four, before cutting the next delivery through point to bring up her half-century from just 35 balls.

A top effort and potentially a match-winning one.

This is a very good partnership. Amy Jones always goes at a decent strike rate and has helped to settle down the nerves in the England dressing room.

  20. Eng 103-4published at 14 overs

    Target 152 from 23 overs

England have battled their way into the position where they can afford to be patient and wait for the bad ball.

Chloe Tryon duly delivers with one that is short and wide, and Amy Jones clubs the ball through the covers for four.

We have just seen a shot of a rather glum looking South Africa balcony. They need some inspiration and fast.
