    Target 152

A profitable over from England, 11 coming from it, as the experienced duo of Wyatt-Hodge and Beaumont look to steer them out of trouble.

  3. Not outpublished at 6.4 overs

It's actually hit Tammy Beaumont on the body, and was missing the stumps.

    South Africa lose the review.

It looks like it has hit her hip, but the question is - is it outside the line of off-stump?

  5. SA reviewpublished at 6.4 overs

    Four down?!

Tammy Beaumont misses a sweep and is struck on the back leg. It's given not out on the field, which could be crucial if umpire's call comes into play...

  6. Eng 41-3published at 6.1 overs

    Delightful!

Nonkululeko Mlaba is greeted by a lofted drive from Danni Wyatt-Hodge for a one-bounce four.

England are looking to capitalise on Kapp's removal from the attack.

  7. Eng 37-3published at 6 overs

    Target 152

Here's the medium pace of Masabata Klaas, in her first appearance of the series so far.

She gets one to keep very low outside Danni Wyatt-Hodge's off stump, which may send a few shudders into the England dugout, but Tammy Beaumont maintains her aggressive approach with another boundary flicked over mid-wicket from the final ball.

Beaumont is holding England together at the moment.

The overs are starting to whittle down and England have a long way to go ahead of them.

The South Africa fielders are very tight and are not giving them any easy singles here.

  9. Eng 30-3published at 5 overs

    Target 152

Marizanne Kapp is a joy to watch when she's fired up like this - although Tammy Beaumont pulls the final ball for four to enrage her a little!

That's the powerplay complete and South Africa have dominated thanks to Kapp. She has figures of 3-11.

England are in a world of trouble now. Knight looks frustrated with something in her eyeline as Kapp ran in and looks like she was distracted.

It was a beauty from Kapp, just nipped back in so well into the wickets.

    And Kapp has three!

Full, straight and through Heather Knight's defence - a seamer's dream dismissal.

Knight points at something behind the bowler in a bit of frustration but she didn't pull out of the shot at all, so she has to depart. England in more trouble.

Tammy Beaumont will want to show the England selectors what she can do in a shorter format and that she can be aggressive.

  13. Eng 25-2published at 4 overs

    Target 152

    Profitable over!

Three boundaries to Tammy Beaumont, lofting one down the ground before slamming another brutally over cover.

The third comes with a slice of luck, edging past the stumps. Ayabonga Khaka is struggling to match Kapp's consistency in these early overs.

There's lots of smiles in the South Africa team at the moment. The scoring rate is much higher for England after the delay so it's a different challenge for them.

  15. Eng 11-2published at 3 overs

    Target 152

Bang on the money, as ever, from Marizanne Kapp.

Just two singles from her second over, with plenty of swing as well.

  16. Eng 9-2published at 2 overs

    Target 152

    Shot!

Heather Knight threads the ball through the covers to get off the mark.

Maybe England didn't see it coming that they were coming back on to play and have been caught off guard.

Whereas South Africa are executing well after very little warm-up practice.

With this game basically being a T20 now, England's decision to open with Tammy Beaumont is an interesting one. She has has fallen out of favour within the T20 setup, with her strike-rate not being up to what's required in the modern England side. In 2024 she is striking at just 110.

  19. Eng 4-2published at 1 over

    Target 152

Heather Knight is in at four.

She joins Tammy Beaumont, exiled from the T20 set-up of late but now finding herself having to play a T20 innings...

This is a big blow for England. Another ball which was dragged short by Marizanne Kapp. Kapp almost looks embarrassed as her two wickets came from two of her worst balls.
