Arjun: To be honest, I’m quite excited to watch England chase a big total. I’d like to see what our boys can do under a bit of pressure. And if we get another Joe Root mic (bat) drop, it’ll be worth it.

Brandon King had played pretty well...

    Carty 82, Hope 1

That new batter is the West Indies skipper Shai Hope. England know he can do plenty of damage.

England really did need that because they had been struggling. Brandon King didn't middle it and this boundary is a bit longer.

It's a good innings from King.

England now might revert back to try and bottle up the new batter.

England 'finally' get second wicket - King caught by Carse off Rashid

    Just like that...

Adil Rashid seems Brandon King coming, pushes the ball flatter and the West Indies opener drills the ball straight into the hands of long-off.

Instant wickets are just one of the many services I provide.

  6. WI 146-1published at 25 overs

    King 59, Carty 79

Change the bowler, same outcome. Keacy Carty thwacks a couple of fours and also plays a nice inside-out shot for two.

In the past two ODIs, 'funky' and 'eccentric' have been used to describe England's field settings. This 'eccentric' offering currently isn't working.

I'm going to grab a break, so here's Matt Henry to take you through the rest of West Indies' innings.

Hurrah! A bowling change! Here's Brydon Carse.

  8. WI 135-1published at 24 overs

Harry Brook is tinkering with his field every single delivery.

Will he stick with Will Jacks for the next over or throw in another bowling change?

Another bowling change. Adil Rashid has changed ends.

This whole situation will be a challenge for Harry Brook because they have missed chances and these two batters are looking dangerous.

Currently watching in Cape Town in a pub called the Slip and Gully! Need a breakthrough soon.

  12. WI 130-1published at 23 overs

I was just beginning to write about this being a quiet over, with Keacy Carty and Brandon King happy to trade singles.

However, Will Jacks' final ball is too short and deservedly punished for four by Carty.

Harry Brook continues to shuffle his pack. Here's the spin of Will Jacks.

  14. WI 122-1published at 22 overs

This West Indies pair really are riding their luck today. Three dropped catches and now two runout chances survived.

Ben Duckett lofts his throw from mid-on to Jos Buttler and that gives Brandon King time to dive to safety. Several England players are on the floor in disbelief. Opportunity missed.

It will be interesting to see the capability of Brook's captaincy to break this West Indian partnership. Should be a fascinating next 10 overs.

This has got all the makings of a very good game after the pounding West Indies got at Edgbaston.

  17. WI 116-1published at 21 overs

For an over which only yielded one run, it was an action-packed six balls.

Carty narrowly survived both a runout chance and an injury. There was a bump-ball catch cheered (mistakenly) with gusto. And then the half-century for Brandon King.

A thoroughly enjoyable game so far.

It's been a sumptuous innings from Brandon King, it really has. There was a bit of luck at the beginning when he was dropped by Ben Duckett.

And there it is. A single off Adil Rashid brings up Brandon King's half-century off 57 balls.

For those keeping track, he was dropped by Ben Duckett on 11.

Keacy Carty is playing so well, he's just played the shot of the day with that beautiful cover drive in the last over.

He'll be fine after having to rush back there.
