    Carty b Rashid 71 (WI 155-3)

The drop is not too costly in the end!

Rashid strikes to remove Carty, beating the bat of the West Indies number three as he tried to turn the ball down to long-on.

A very tidy bit of bowling, and England finally break a very fine partnership of 143.

  2. WI 154-2published at 30 overs

Carty closes the over with a two over the covers.

11 from the over, a frustrating one for Archer.

The first ‘chance’ was virtually uncatchable, but Turner really should have taken the second opportunity. He had a bit of ground to make and it was low, but once he got there he should have clung on.

    And he goes again!

Same plan from Archer and Carty is confident enough to try the shot once more.

He doesn't get quite as much on the delivery and the ball comes down a few yards in from the boundary.

Turner has to make some ground on his left, and is unable to hold on.

Carty takes the single to move to 69.

    WI 149-2published at 29.2 overs

    Carty on the hook!

Archer bangs one down and the West Indies batter tucks in.

John Turner is out at fine leg and he tries to take the catch on the boundary, but Carty got just enough on it and the England fielder is carried over the rope, spilling the ball as he fell to earth.

    A first six for Carty.

  6. WI 143-2published at 29 overs

Changes at both ends as England turn to the experience of Adil Rashid.

He concedes four singles from his sixth over.

How do England get out Shai Hope? Here are the deliveries which have removed him in ODI cricket against England previously. Maybe get in close to the stumps and cramp him for room?

  8. WI 139-2published at 28 overs

A couple to singles are all that comes from the first five balls of Archer's over, but Keacy Carty closes it superbly, getting his bat under the England seamer's bouncer and lifting the ball through an empty cordon.

Four runs, he moves to 60.

Desperate to break this partnership, Livingstone turns to Archer. Notable, though, that he has yet to use Curran. Is he deployed as a specialist batter?

  10. WI 133-2published at 27 overs

The West Indies work five further runs off Bethell's over.

This pair are looking very settled - England are bringing Jofra Archer back in an attempt to change that.

This is a key phase in the WI innings. Two batters well set, part time spinners Bethell and Jacks into the attack. Expect Hope especially to show intent.

Carty joins Hope in reaching fifty!

Bethell's first ball drifts down leg and Carty helps it on its way to the boundary with a well-timed sweep.

    It comes off 62 balls.

Will Jacks into the attack against two right-handers might be an odd move with many off spinners, but Jacks is unusual - in both T20s and ODIs, his economy is actually better against right-handers than left-handers.

    Thanks Tim.

Shai Hope welcomes my arrival at the keyboard (we only have one) by dropping onto the back foot and lofting Will Jacks over mid-off for four.

A couple of singles follow and this partnership is now worth 112.

Maybe that'll be a crucial moment, the difference between 240 and 280.

  16. dropped catch

Hope dropped on 60published at 25 overs

    WI 117-2

Jacob Bethell concedes three off his next over, but off the final delivery Phil Salt fluffs his lines.

The keeper doesn't hold on to a regulation edge from Shai Hope, and the bowler sinks to his haunches in frustration.

And on that cheery note, I'll hand over to Mike Peter for the second half of the West Indies innings.

  18. WI 108-2published at 23.1 overs

Liam Livingstone has a multitude of bowling options, and so now he shuffles his pack by bringing on Will Jacks. He has a Test five-fer, don't forget.

His first ball goes for runs when Jofra Archer fumbles in the field, but he retrieves it to concede two

Jacob Bethell is on for Adil Rashid, but a horrible drag-down is pulled high over mid-wicket to see Shai Hope past 50.

After six overs without a boundary, the pressure is just lifted a bit on that Livingstone over as Carty has started to line him up better.
