    Target 329

Chase rattles through his fourth over, three singles from it.

We've reached the 30-over mark - they say that you should try to double your score from here and that would easily be enough for England.

It's the wickets down that are the concern.

That no-ball from Motie brings a free hit and Curran picks up four more from it, clipping it through mid-wicket.

One more single to end the over sees him move to 12 from five deliveries.

A handy start from the England all-rounder.

    Who needs Jacob Bethell?

A long hop from Motie and Sam Curran heaves him over the long-on boundary for six.

To make matters worse for the West Indies, Curran immediately points out there weren't enough fielders in the ring - he's right, it's a no ball and a further run as well.

A soft end to a really promising innings. Bethell had been careful to keep his drives along the carpet, only going aerial off the short ball, but Chase tempted him with a floaty off-spinner and Bethell succumbed.

Here I am, Tim... and I've got a wicket to write about.

Bethell steps down the pitch to loft Roston Chase's final ball over long-off, but doesn't get enough on it and can only drop the ball into the hands of Jayden Seales.

A massive moment in the match - a set batter departs and England enter their all-rounder section as Sam Curran comes to the crease.

Once again Motie rushes through an over before the batters have noticed.

  8. Eng 158-3published at 27 overs

We haven't seen Gudakesh Motie for a while but here he is, ripping one past Bethell's outside edge early on.

It's getting interesting - very, very interesting, and who better to take you home than the esteemed Mike Peter?

    Here he is.

What a way to bring up your maiden international 50. This has been a beautifully-paced innings from Bethell, but the hard work starts now.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Bethellpublished at 26 overs

    Eng 156-3

Roston Chase returns for his second over, but he's off target - Bethell rocks back and smacks a wide one to the point boundary before lifting a horrible drag down to leg high over short fine-leg for another four.

And from the final delivery, another rank long hop, Bethell drops to one knee and lifts Chase way over mid-wicket to reach 50 for the first time in internationals.

  11. Eng 140-3published at 25 overs

Matthew Forde keeps it tight after that big hit from Bethell, Liam Livingstone goes for another big heave on the leg side off the last delivery, but he misses it completely so the over goes for just two.

Bethell is batting beautifully here. Taking singles off the good balls but leaping on any mistakes.

Unlike Jordan Cox, Bethell has played plenty of 50-over cricket relatively recently with the England U19s and his appreciation of the rhythm of the format is evident.

  13. 6 runs

    Eng 138-3published at 24 overs

Now Jacob Bethell gets into six-hitting mode, pulling Shamar Joseph a long way over the rope at mid-wicket from a long way outside the off stump.

It just feels like England are beginning to tick here.

  14. Eng 127-3published at 23 overs

The rest of Forde's over is worked around, and the bowler has a face like thunder despite seeing two wickets to his name so far. He's gone for over six an over after opening the attack.

This is very much a ‘do or die’ approach from Livingstone. If it comes off he’ll be lauded as a hero, but if he throws it away here, England have very little batting left and an awful lot of runs to score in really quite a lot of overs.

    Wow!

Liam Livingstone comes down the track to Matthew Forde and smashes him high over the square-leg boundary, with one hand coming off the bat as he does so.

The ball hits the top deck of the grass banking and is gone, never to be seen again - the umpires then have to root through a box of replacements.

  17. Eng 117-3published at 22 overs

With England wobbling, Shai Hope sees a chance to tighten his side's grip by bringing the pace of Shamar Joseph back into the attack.

Liam Livingstone is lucky, making it home for a quick single where a direct hit would have seen England's captain continuing straight back to the dressing room.

And the luck stays with him when a slash outside off stump flashes past the keeper's right hand where a first slip could have been posted.

That dismissal came just as England looked to be shifting the needle their way, meaning that Liam Livingstone needs to steady the ship again.

There's plenty of time left, but these wickets are hamstringing England's chances.

Strange dismissal for Phil Salt, because there was nothing special about that ball. 125kph - which has been Forde's average speed - and with less than 0.3 degrees of swing and seam combined. He'll be disappointed.
