Yorkshire have been bowled out for 326 at Gloucestershire - a fine recovery from 90-5, led by 140 from Shan Masood.

Earlier Joe Root fell for two, and England team-mate Harry Brook made 26.

Gloucestershire's first innings has just got under way.

Derbyshire spinner Alex Thomson is enjoying an excellent day with the ball against Glamorgan. He has 6-54, with the hosts stumbling to 220-8 in Cardiff.

Northants are in a really strong position against Middlesex on 261-2 - Emilio Gay is 146 not out.

Leicestershire are closing in on 300 against Sussex - they're 291-6 with Liam Trevaskis unbeaten on 67.

  2. Super start for Steelpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 12 April

Surrey v Somerset 285 all out

Cameron Steel celebrates taking a wicket with Ben FoakesImage source, Rex Features

Cameron Steel ends with 4-50 with his leg-breaks.

That follows on from his career-best 5-25 v Lancashire last week.

Nine wickets for 75 runs is a super start to the season and gives Surrey yet another option with the ball.

  3. wicket

SOMERSET ALL OUT FOR 285published at 17:28 British Summer Time 12 April

    Gregory c J Overton b Steel 50

Lewis Gregory tries another big heave off Cameron Steel and it is well taken by Jamie Overton at slip.

He goes for 50 after a last wicket stand of 49 with Shoaib Bashir.

But from 196-1, Somerset will surely be disappointed when Matt Renshaw (88) and Tom Lammonby (100) were flying.

Yet the home side may be a tad upset that having taken seven wickets for 20 runs to get the opposition 216-8, they allowed the visitors to creep out of trouble a little bit.

  4. 350 up for Essexpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 12 April

    Essex 356-5 v Kent

Michel Pepper has come out and gone swiftly up to 27 from 23 balls.

He's swept Jack Leaning for four, lofted him over long-off for six - holding the pose - and then swept Matt Parkinson for four more to raise a third batting point for Essex.

  5. new ball

New ball at Utilita Bowlpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 267-5 v Lancashire

After seeing Nathan Lyon send down 29 overs of off-spin, Lancashire captain Keaton Jennings changes tack by taking the new ball.

  6. 400 for Bearspublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 404-1 v Durham

400 runs in a day and still 16 overs to go!

Alex Davies reaches the landmark in style, down on one knee Caribbean style as he launches Colin Ackermann for a straight six.

    Davies is now on 184.

  7. new ball

New ball for Worcspublished at 17:19 British Summer Time 12 April

    Notts 267-6 v Worcs

Worcestershire have the new ball at Trent Bridge and will be hoping it can see off the Notts lower order.

Lyndon James going well on 27 for the hosts with Calvin Harrison on 6.

  8. 'Lyon has looked good today'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 265-5 v Lancashire

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Nathan Lyon has got through 28 overs today.

He has looked good, there's no doubt about it, this pitch is giving him absolutely nothing but he's probed away, lots of guile, changes of pace, changes of line, trying to put a little more revs on the ball from time to time.

He's always kept the pressure on where he can.

  9. 50 runs

50 from Lewis Gregorypublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 278-9

A terrific battling knock from the Somerset captain.

Lewis Gregory hits his third big six off Cameron Steel to move to 49 and then walks through for the single he needs to reach his half century.

He is shepherding this Somerset innings expertly with Shoaib Bashir.

  10. 'Kent have been good in the field'published at 17:10 British Summer Time 12 April

    Essex 321-5 v Kent

    Sonia Twigg
    BBC Essex

Kent have been quite good in the field today, they've committed themselves well.

  11. Highest score for Daviespublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 393-1 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Davies has reached his highest total in first-class cricket today. It's been an excellent innings and he's now on 174.

His previous best was 147 for Lancashire against Northants in 2019.

He was rattling along earlier, hitting 20 boundaries in his 150, but has slowed down a bit since then. As things stand there's no reason to think he won't see the day out intact.

  12. 'New ball not that far away'published at 17:09 British Summer Time 12 April

    Leics 255-6 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

A change of bowling, John Simpson has the midas touch and Ben Cox is on his way.

I think he'll be really annoyed with himself, it was a half volley, I'm fairly certain he dragged that on but Tom Clark won't worry about that.

Sussex will be delighted with the new ball not that far away.

  13. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 393-1 v Durham

An easy single for Alex Davies and that is a 50-run partnership between him and Will Rhodes.

The day cannot end quickly enough for Durham.

  14. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 267-9

This last wicket stand is starting to develop a nuisance factor.

It is worth 31 and last man Shoaib Bashir has contributed a big fat zero.

But Lewis Gregory, who has been dropped by Jamie Smith, is doing a great job of getting runs and farming the strike.

    The skipper has 42.

  15. wicket

WICKET: Walter c Denly b Parkinson 33published at 17:04 British Summer Time 12 April

    Essex 316-5 v Kent

Matt Parkinson hasn't enjoyed his best day so far but has steadily found some rhythm as the day has gone on.

And he gets more reward as Paul Walter goes to swing down the ground and as before it's off a bit of a leading edge.

This time it's held on the long-off fence.

  16. wicket

WICKET Prest c Bell b Wells 85published at 17:03 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 256-5 v Lancashire

And Tom Prest goes in the same over.

Three balls after that let-off, he tries to sweep Luke Wells but he gets a top edge and it dollies up for George Bell at leg-slip.

Prest will feel disappointed to depart 15 shy of his ton.

  17. 250 runs

250 up for Hampshirepublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 252-4 v Lancashire

Tom Prest brings up the 250 and his side's first batting point but he is almost on his way back to the dressing room.

He comes down the wicket and lofts Luke Wells over the top. Tom Bruce chases after it from mid-on, and almost gets there but the ball doesn't stick and runs away for four.

    Prest moves on to 81.

  18. 250 runs

up for Nottspublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 12 April

    Notts 250-6 v Worcs

Notts trying to go again with Lyndon James and Calvin Harrison in the middle.

They've moved their side to a first batting point but Notts need a partnership to take this final session.

  19. 300 runs

300 up for Essexpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 12 April

    Essex 300-4 v Kent

Essex continue to make excellent progress at a tick over four-an-over.

Matt Critchley is leading them in this final session, he's onto 67.

But it's Paul Walter at the other end who has brought up a second batting point as he swings Jack Leaning down the ground for six.

It was actually a bit of a leading edge that had the Kent fielders interested for a moment but there was enough club to clear the long-off fence.

  20. A maiden over!published at 16:55 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 383-1 v Durham

Warwickshire continue to tick along nicely at well five runs an over.

But Colin Ackermann produces a maiden over for the visitors. Just a fifth of the innings.
