In Cardiff Glamorgan are 194-5 against Derbyshire - spinner Alex Thomson has picked up three wickets.

Finally Leicestershire all-rounder Liam Trevaskis has reached his half-century to help his side to 249-5 against Sussex.

Lewis Gregory and Shoaib Bashir scamper a bye off Gus Atkinson and that brings up the 250 and that first batting point.

  3. Postpublished at 16:50 12 April

    Hampshire 242-4 v Lancashire

Nathan Lyon into his 25th over of this innings. Lancashire getting their money's worth from him today.

Liam Dawson sweeps nicely for a couple and this partnership between him and Tom Prest is up to 79.

  4. Postpublished at 16:47 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 249-9

Cameron Steel throws one up and BANG... Lewis Gregory heaves it over cow corner for six.

  5. 'A splendid innings from Davies'published at 16:39 12 April

    Warwickshire 363-1 v Durham

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

A splendid innings from Alex Davies.

He has slowed down, he got his 100 in 102 balls, Rob Yates rather took the initiative from there.

  6. WICKET Pretorius c Foakes b Steel 12published at 16:39 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 236-9

Surrey are one wicket away from batting.

Cameron Steel gets his third as he has debutant Migael Pretorius caught behind as he goes back trying to cut one.

    Steel now has 3-19.

  7. WICKET: Clarke c Roderick b Baker 105published at 16:39 12 April

    Notts 238-6 v Worcs

Inside just six overs of the evening session, Worcestershire have removed both not out batsmen at tea.

And this is the big wicket of Joe Clarke.

Josh Baker gets just a hint of bounce outside the off stump and Clarke, cutting, nicks a feather to the wicketkeeper.

Second bowling point for the Pears who are right back in the day now.

  8. 150 for Alex Daviespublished at 16:34 12 April

    Warwickshire 358-1 v Durham

A career-best effort for Alex Davies.

He picks up a single off Callum Parkinson to reach 150 for the first time in his first-class career, going past a previous best of 147.

This has taken 181 balls and includes 19 fours and a six.

Rob Yates eventually overtook him, but Davies set the tone for this innings with his pre-lunch positivity.

  9. 100 for Joe Clarkepublished at 16:32 12 April

    Notts 233-5 v Worcs

But if Joe Clarke sticks around, he could well win the day for Notts.

He goes to a hundred against his former side in 168 balls with nine fours and three sixes.

Follows up his 104 against Essex last week.

Tom prest shows his growing confidence as he slog sweeps Nathan Lyon for a big six over midwicket.

It's the first of the Hampshire innings as the 21-year-old moves to 65 not out.

  11. WICKET: Haynes lbw b Leach 15published at 16:27 12 April

    Notts 232-5 v Worcs

Worcestershire strike three overs after tea.

And perhaps a sweet one for Joe Leach who gets Jack Haynes, who left New Road at the end of last summer.

The day very much up for grabs in this final session.

  12. Third batting pointpublished at 16:27 12 April

    Warwickshire 350-1 v Durham

Four singles off Parkinson's over sees the total reach 350 and a third batting point.

They have 45 overs to score the 100 runs they need for maximum points with the bat.

  13. Play resumes at Edgbastonpublished at 16:25 12 April

    Warwickshire 346-1 v Durham

Callum Parkinson to bowl to Will Rhodes immediately after tea.

They scored exactly 200 in that session before tea with Rob Yates scoring 131 of them before he was out just before the interval.

  14. 'Honours even'published at 16:14 12 April

    Tea: Leics 227-5 v Sussex

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Honours about even at tea with Leicestershire adding 96 against tight, accurate Sussex bowling

The morning run rate of 4.6 an over slowed considerably when Rishi Patel was out just after lunch for an excellent 87 off 98 balls, strangled down the leg side by Danny Lamb

Peter Handscomb made a patient 51 before becoming a victim of the off spin of Jack Carson, but Liam Trevaskis on his debut has battled away reaching 30 off 98 balls at the break.

  15. 'Gay's fifth first-class century'published at 16:12 12 April

    Tea: Northants 183-1 v Middlesex

The Middlesex attack was left cursing the Kookaburra ball once again as Northamptonshire continued to dominate proceedings and reached 183-1 from 64 overs after being put in to bat at Wantage Road.

There was precious little help on offer for seamers or spinners with Emilio Gay and Luke Procter carrying their unbroken partnership to 182 at tea - a new Northamptonshire second-wicket record against Middlesex, eclipsing 179 by Stephen Peters and Alex Wakely in 2010.

Gay reached his fifth first-class century off 173 balls while his captain added only 28 in the afternoon to reach 69 not out at the break. But after Northamptonshire's batting tribulations in Division One last season they were delighted to go through an entire session without losing a wicket.

  16. Tea scores, day onepublished at 16:10 12 April

    Chelmsford: Essex 272-4 v Kent

Utilita Bowl: Hampshire 216-4 v Lancashire

    Trent Bridge:Nottinghamshire 223-4 v Worcestershire

The Kia Oval: Surrey v Somerset 231-8

    Edgbaston: Warwickshire 346-1 v Durham

    Division Two:

    Cardiff: Glamorgan 172-4 v Derbyshire

    Bristol: Gloucestershire v Yorkshire 243-6

    Leicester: Leicestershire 227-5 v Sussex

    Northampton: Northamptonshire 183-1 v Middlesex

  17. 'Essex scoring at good rate'published at 16:09 12 April

    Tea: Essex 272-4 v Kent

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

Just as with the morning session Essex lost two wickets but continued to score at a decent rate.

The two wickets which did fall came as a surprise; Jordan Cox missed a straight ball to fall lbw while centurion Dean Elgar popped-up a simple catch to mid-wicket.

The Kent captain Daniel Bell-Drummond has rotated his bowlers and come-up with some interesting field settings to try to engineer more wickets but the pitch is pretty unresponsive.

Matt Critchley has quietly got himself to 54 and with Paul Walter alongside him this pair will look to build another big stand as they did at Trent Bridge last week.

  18. 'It doesn't look like an easy pitch to bowl on'published at 16:08 12 April

    Tea: Notts 223-4 v Worcs

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

I have my doubts as to whether Worcestershire gained anything from that period when they tried to go short with with Finch and bounce Clarke out.

That said it doesn't look like an easy pitch to bowl on.

Notts will be very pleased with their decision to bat first.

  19. Tea at the Kia Ovalpublished at 16:06 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 231-8

Who could have forecast this teatime score when Somerset were flying with Matt Renshaw and Tom Lammonby at the crease at 196-1?

From there to 216-8, it has been a champion's response from Surrey and they are now on top heading into the tea break.

    Lammonby's 100 feels a long time ago!

  20. Tea at Edgbastonpublished at 16:05 12 April

    Warwickshire 346-1 v Durham

Some respite for Durham having dismissed Rob Yates for 191 in that 343-run opening stand.

However, with Alex Davies going strong on 145, Warwickshire are all set for a mammoth score.
