WICKET AND LUNCHpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 12 April

    Glos v Yorks 90-5 (Hill c Bracey b Zaman Akhter 5)

It has not been a morning for Yorkshire or indeed England.

Joe Root out for just 2 on his return, lbw to one angled back in familiar fashion, and Harry Brook making only 26 before miscuing a pull.

George Hill has also fallen on the stroke of lunch.

All three wickets to Zaman Akhter in a really excellent session for Gloucestershire.

  2. Lunch at the Kia Ovalpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 131-1

After being put in to bat, Somerset have really tested the Champions with Tom Lammonby and Matt Renshaw in outstanding form.

The two batters have put on 113 with lots of lovely on-the-eye shots, especially from Lammonby.

Surrey have to respond after lunch. They usually do.

  3. Lunch at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 12 April

    Notts 83-2

Both openers, Haseeb Hameed for 11 and Ben Duckett for 9, fell cheaply but Notts eased their way back into the session.

Ben Slater has led the recovery, getting to 40 by the break with Joe Clarke on 16.

  4. 50 runs

50 for Matt Renshawpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 129-1

    What a way to reach a 50!

Dan Lawrence tosses one up and Matt Renshaw smashes it for a straight six.

He has let Tom Lammonby lead the way, but this is a good effort from Renshaw off 83 balls.

And a second of his spell with Somerset after 66 against Kent.

  5. Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 146-0 v Durham

    100% Warwickshire's session at Edgbaston.

23 fours and one six tell the whole story. Durham leaking boundaries and Alex Davies and Rob Yates enjoying a feast.

Davies is 12 away from a ton, while Yates has 55.

  6. Lunch at Utilita Bowlpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 98-2 v Lancashire

A classic morning of county cricket.

Hampshire lost both openers after some tight opening bowling and a disastrous run-up.

But James Vince with 48 not out has led the Hampshire recovery in a stand of 72 with Nick Gubbins.

  7. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 12 April

    Essex 123-2 v Kent

Feroze Khushi fell for a golden duck and Tom Westley for only 5 after Essex won the toss but since then the home side have been in control.

Jordan Cox has played attractively against his old side and takes lunch 51 not out.

Dean Elgar with him on 54 enjoying his first outing at Chelmsford as an Essex player.

  8. 100 runs

100 partnershippublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 118-1

An easy single for Matt Renshaw out into the offside off Dan Lawrence.

That is the 100 partnership between the Aussie batter and the in-form Tom Lammonby.

  9. wicket

WICKET: Brook c de Lange b Zaman Akhter 26published at 12:54 British Summer Time 12 April

    Glos v Yorks 80-4

Harry Brook had flickered into life with three pulls for four and one all the way for six.

But attempting another he's spooned up a catch to mid-wicket off the toe of the bat.

    What a morning for Gloucestershire.

Joe Root and now England team-mate Brook are both gone.

  10. Postpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 85-2 v Lancashire

Fascinating contest between James Vince and Nathan Lyon.

Vince gets four with a lovely pushed drive before Lyon gets the Hampshire skipper playing a false shot but the edge goes down to the vacant third man boundary.

He ends the over with a single. Nine off it and Lyon has conceded 22 from his five overs so far.

These are the kind of match-ups we want in county cricket.

  11. 50 runs

for Dean Elgar and Jordan Coxpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 12 April

    Essex 120-2 v Kent

A wide floaty delivery from Matt Parkinson and Dean Elgar leans out to smash him over mid-off for four to raise fifty in 76 balls on his home debut.

In Parkinson's preivous over, Jordan Cox had also gone to a half-century by lifting the legger down the ground for a boundary. Cox to fifty in 61 balls and Essex going very well now.

  12. 50 partnershippublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 76-2 v Lancashire

A bit of width from Jack Blatherwick and Nick Gubbins emphatically drives it through the covers for four.

That is enough to clock up a 50 partnership between him and captain James Vince.

It is a good fightback from 26-2.

  13. Chance!published at 12:44 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 129-0 v Durham

Durham turn to Callum Parkinson's slow left-arm to try to stem the Warwickshire charge.

Alex Davies gets yet another four with a late cut, but edges the next ball.

It ricochets up off wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson and loops up, but just beyond a dive of Colin Ackermann at slip.

Durham really need to break this partnership before lunch.

  14. 'Warwickshire feasting on bowling'published at 12:42 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 123-0 v Durham

    Melinda Farrell
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

Warwickshire are feasting on some bowling, some of which has been served on a platter but it's tough with that short boundary.

  15. 100 runs

100 up for Somersetpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 104-1

A low full toss from Dan Lawrence's twirlers is sent down to the deep backward square boundary for another Tom Lammonby four.

He really looks in fine nick and will fancy a good score here.

This is a very good effort from Somerset after being put in to bat this morning.

  16. 'Everybody loves a bit of Bazball'published at 12:37 British Summer Time 12 April

    Glos v Yorks 59-3

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol

Everybody loves a bit of Bazball especially when Harry Brook is taking on the short ball, I don't think anybody has ever complained about that before.

I feel that if Brook able to get himself established we might see a bit more of that and that field set will be really intriguing to see.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Rob Yatespublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 12 April

    Warwickshire 123-0 v Durham

Successive fours for Rob Yates off Matt Potts brings up his 50.

The second is a lovely push through the covers that takes its time but crosses the ropes.

Yates is second in runs to Alex Davies, but this coming off 58 balls, he is going at a similar tempo.

  18. 100 runs

100 up for Essexpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 12 April

    Essex 101-2 v Kent

    Matt Parkinson's leg-spin brought on.

And he begins with a loopy full toss that slipped out of his hands and is panned for four through cover by Jordan Cox.

He floats another up later in the over and gets very handsomely swung over his head for four more by Cox, who then take the next ball over mid-on for another boundary.

Another full toss is flicked for four by Dean Elgar and this is a poor start by Parkinson.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Tom Lammonbypublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey v Somerset 93-1

Tom Lammonby brings up his half-century in style with a gorgeous off-drive off Jamie Overton.

Lammonby took his time to get going, but that brings up his fifty off 61 balls with 10 pleasing fours.

  20. Classic Vincepublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 12 April

    Hampshire 64-2 v Lancashire

The first sight of James Vince with bat in his hand is one of the highlights of the county summer.

    And oooh, that is lovely!

An on-drive for four off George Balderson that oozes Vince's typical class.

Balderson is having an expensive spell with 28 off his five overs, which has lifted some of the pressure off the batters.
