  1. 'A remarkable reaction catch'published at 18:07 13 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 211-4

    Melissa Story
    BBC Radio Solent

It's a remarkable reaction catch, at the end of the day when the players are just starting to feel that little bit tired, Liam Dawson produces some excellence.

  2. Bad light stops playpublished at 18:06 13 April

    Gloucestershire 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 30-0

The players are off in Bristol where Yorkshire have extended their lead to 93.

And that is before Shan Masood, Joe Root and Harry Brook come to the middle.

  3. Close of play at Chelmsfordpublished at 18:04 13 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 245-1

Ben Compton (Kent)Image source, Rex Features

Ben Compton has managed to avoid a sleepless night - he punches the final ball of the day from Tom Westley for two runs that bring him a century from 237 deliveries!

That completes a very good day for Kent, with Compton and Daniel Bell-Drummond, who reached stumps on 134, adding 218 so far for this second wicket.

They are still 285 behind Essex, but almost halfway to their hosts' total of 530-7 declared with Tawanda Muyeye the only man out.

  4. Hat-trick ballpublished at 18:01 13 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 211-4

George Bell has to rush to the crease far quicker than he would have imagined five minutes ago!

    The field is in close.

And that is so close! George Bell plays and misses and it does not miss the stumps by much.

Great over from Ian Holland - a double wicket-maiden.

  5. 'This game is in the balance still'published at 18:00 13 April

    Surrey 352-6 v Somerset 285

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

This game is in the balance still.

I think it's good hard cricket this, it's what Division One is supposed to be.

  6. WICKET Bruce c Dawson b Holland 0published at 17:59 13 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 211-4

Two in two balls! Ian Holland on a hat-trick.

Good ball first up gets Tom Bruce pushing forward, but the wicket owes everything to Liam Dawson.

In at slip with the wicketkeeper up to the stumps, he takes a blinder, low down to his left.

  7. WICKET Balderson c Orr b Holland 38published at 17:57 13 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 211-3

In keeping with this match, when a batter starts to find their feet and a partnership develops the bowling team strikes back.

George Balderson was starting to find his groove, but he sends an Ian Holland delivery straight into the hands of deep mid-wicket.

He goes for 38 and it ends a stand of 85.

Nine overs to go here tonight, Hampshire would love another one.

  8. 'Harrison is having a very special day'published at 17:53 13 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 186-6

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Nottinghamshire have gone bang, bang and Calvin Harrison is having a very special day.

Now Worcestershire have got to be a little bit careful.

  9. Lees in the 90spublished at 17:52 13 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 169-3

Alex Lees eases one run into the offside from Danny Briggs and that takes his total to 90.

Five overs left today to find the 10 runs he requires for a ton.

  10. WICKET: Holder c Duckett b Harrison 0published at 17:50 13 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 186-6

Calvin Harrison (Notts)Image source, Rex Features

Two in three balls for Calvin Harrison!

Jason Holder drives and gets a thick edge that flies to Ben Duckett at first slip - and suddenly Worcestershire, having looked comfortable since the first few overs of their innings, are in trouble.

Nathan Smith is the next man in.

  11. WICKET Foakes lbw b Gregory 57published at 17:48 13 April

    Surrey 339-6 v Somerset 285

A strike late in the day for Somerset!

A good battling innings from Ben Foakes is brought to an end by Lewis Gregory.

Foakes shuffles across his stumps and has nowhere to go when he is pinned on leg by the Somerset skipper.

    Wholehearted stuff from Gregory.

  12. WICKET: Jones c & b Harrison 90published at 17:47 13 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 186-5

Three catches for Calvin Harrison - and a second off the leg-spinner's own bowling!

It's a big wicket for Notts, with Rob Jones looking well set for a hundred, but he chips one back to Harrison, who dives forward to scoop it up just off the ground.

And a blow for Worcestershire, who are still 213 behind as Jason Holder comes out to join Brett D'Oliveira in the middle.

  13. 200 up for the Red Rosepublished at 17:44 13 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 203-2

George Balderson tries to get a touch on a very wide legside ball from Ian Holland that runs down to fine leg for the four the delivery merited.

It is given as byes but that brings up the 200 and the partnership is now 77.

  14. 'Durham can't look at the score'published at 17:39 13 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 161-3

    Melinda Farrell
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

If you're Durham you just have to stop looking at the score and not do the calculations .

  15. Postpublished at 17:38 13 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 225-1

Having said Essex had tried everything, that wasn't entirely true because skipper Tom Westley has now decided to give himself a stint with the ball.

Westley's first two overs of off-breaks yield just two runs, which are enough to usher Ben Compton into the 90s. He'll be looking to join skipper Daniel Bell-Drummond on three figures before stumps.

  16. Postpublished at 17:35 13 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 159-3

Ollie Robinson is one off the next rank of wicketkeeper-batters, who could be pushed forward for England duty.

He is now at the crease with Alex Lees as Durham eke into that mammoth Warwickshire total.

Robinson has 12 from 23 balls as staying at the crease is the most crucial thing for his county here.

  17. Will Foakes keep England place?published at 17:32 13 April

    Surrey 333-5 v Somerset 285

The chat around England's wicketkeeper will only get bigger as the Test series with West Indies in July draws nearer.

Will Jonny Bairstow regain the gloves to stay in the team?

Will Ben Foakes retain his position given he is the best keeper, bar none?

Or will England go down a new direction with what they perceive to be a more dynamic wicketkeeper-batter?

  18. 50 for Ben Foakespublished at 17:28 13 April

    Surrey 331-5 v Somerset 285

Ben Foakes may not quite be Bazball-enough for the England hierarchy, but he is absolutely no mug with the bat.

He gets both feet off the ground to pull a Migael Pretorius ball to the boundary and notch up his 50.

Somerset have put the pressure on this afternoon, but Foakes has done a fine job for his team.

This has taken 97 balls, but good red-ball cricketers read the match situation.

  19. Postpublished at 17:25 13 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 211-1

Is this really Ben Compton we're watching?!

The Kent opener isn't renowned for being particularly flamboyant but he's just belted Matt Critchley for three boundaries in an over to move along to 87.

Essex have tried everything in terms of rotating their bowlers, but so far nothing has worked.

  20. Bad light stops play in Cardiffpublished at 17:23 13 April

    Glamorgan 237 & 38-2 v Derbyshire 198

The players are off for bad light in Cardiff where Glamorgan lead Derbyshire by 77 runs.

The headline news is that last week's Lord's record-breaker Sam Northeast was out for a golden duck to Alex Thomson.

    How entirely predictable!
