London Spirit need to get tighter on the runs here. The fielders are still sitting on the circle.

  2. Fire 73-2published at 40 balls

    Need 49 runs to win

Sophia Dunkley and new batter Jess Jonassen tick off three singles from Sarah Glenn's third set.

Fire need 49 runs off 40 balls. No need for the home side to panic.

With the ball, Sam Billings led the troops extremely well. Getting his bowling changes in at the right times. With the bat, it was ferocious stuff from Will Jacks and Tawanda Muyeye. They never let the Originals settle in. Great intent shown from the Invincibles

Fantastic win from Oval Invincibles. A very professional performance. It was clinical. With the ball they had a sticky start but they were smart. They took the pace off and made it hard. Rashid Khan was outstanding in that middle phase. With the bat to watch young Tawanda Muyeye and Will Jacks were phenomenal.

Oval Invincibles complete an absolute leathering of Manchester Originals, winning by nine wickets, with 43 balls to spare.

Jordan Cox finishes the job with a pull shot over backward square leg for four.

Will Jacks hit an imperious 61 off 26 balls, while Tawanda Muyeye ended unbeaten on 59 off 28.

Two wins from two for the defending champions. Two defeats in a row for the Originals.

I wasn't sure why Knott was bowling but what do I know?

London Spirit bowl a lot of off-spin and this has worked. It always manages to cause problems.

I wonder if Spirit can now bring another fielder into the 25-yard circle and really squeeze a few dot balls.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 45 balls

    Beaumont c Harris b Knott 11 (Fire 73-2)

    Tammy Beaumont departs!

It wasn't an especially good delivery from Charli Knott but Beaumont is tempted to go for it and can only pick out Grace Harris at long-on.

Could this be a turning point? Fire need 52 runs off 45 balls.

  10. Fire 73-1published at 46 balls

    Need 52 runs to win

Tammy Beaumont also joins in the boundary fun, taking Charli Knott up and over mid-off for four.

  11. Fire 68-1published at 49 balls

    Need 57 runs to win

Oh, that sums up London Spirit's afternoon. Cordelia Griffith misfields a ground ball in the covers and Sophia Dunkley will accept the four with glee.

  12. Fire 64-1published at 50 balls

    Need 61 runs to win

Tammy Beaumont and Sophia Dunkley are sticking with the running hard strategy. Another six runs knocked off the chase.

Very calm and sensible from Welsh Fire. London Spirit are looking a little toothless.

This is low-risk, smart cricket. There is such a big gap on the leg-side. Smart batting.

How long can Fire hold their nerve? If they keep doing this they will find this total with ease.

  14. Fire 58-1published at 55 balls

    Target 125

Tammy Beaumont is back on her feet and ok to continue - and a good job too as Welsh Fire have looked composed following her arrival in the middle.

Nine runs, all from the bat of Sophia Dunkley, off Eva Gray's second set

What a terrific partnership that was from Jacks and Muyeye. That is as destructive a partnership I've seen in a long time.

Will Jacks tries to clear the ropes again but this time picks out Scott Currie at long-on instead.

Damage already done, mind. The hosts need just 15 more to win.

The physio is on and Tammy Beaumont is now lying on her front to receive treatment on her back.

Very well played from Will Jacks. Good hands, hits through the balls. That's what I like about Will Jacks. He's got that sort of baseball wrist.

And now a very-slightly slower fifty for Will Jacks - taking the England international 23 balls.

He slaps Lewis Gregory over extra cover for four.

Manchester Originals are getting absolutely pasted here.

Oh my! Jacks follows it up with an enormous six deep into the stands over cow corner.

Brilliant shot, mid-off inside the circle. Beaumont gave herself a little bit of room to loft that over.

    The field was wrong there.
