'incredible' fielding from Elwiss leads to direct hit run out

  1. Fire 28-0published at 79 balls

    Target 125

Nope, no Sarah Glenn in the powerplay.

Charlie Dean throws the ball to Eva Gray and she's immediately dispatched for four by Hayley Matthews. After failing to score off her first eight deliveries, the opener is well and truly into her stride.

Could we see Sarah Glenn into the action inside the powerplay?

She's dismissed Hayley Matthews five times in T20 cricket while Sophia Dunkley's average of 21 against leg spin in the Hundred is her lowest for any bowling type.

  3. Fire 24-0published at 80 balls

    Target 125

Welsh Fire will be happy with that set. They've knocked another 10 runs off their chase of 125.

  4. Fire 23-0published at 82 balls

    Target 125

Boom. Two in two for Hayley Matthews. Up and over cover for four.

  5. Fire 19-0published at 83 balls

    Target 125

Right on cue - a welcome boundary for Welsh Fire.

Hayley Matthews pounds Charlie Dean square for four.

Welsh Fire cannot find the boundary at the moment. Norris' swing is really cramping the batters so it is difficult to free your arms.

  7. Fire 14-0published at 85 balls

    Target 125

Neither batter has been able to cut loose in the opening 15 balls. They predominantly dealing in singles and extras - two wides in the set from Tara Norris.

  8. Fire 11-0published at 88 balls

    Target 125

Wicketkeeper Georgia Redmayne is determined to find an early wicket for her side.

Hayley Matthews goes for a quick single and Redmayne chases after the ball, throw down her glove, and launches the ball at the non-striker's end. Matthews pulled out the full length dive but if it had been a direct hit, she'd have been gone.

Hayley Matthews does not get flustered and what a way to get off the mark.

    Some style.

Issy Wong is someone who is always exciting to watch.

She has lost a little bit of pace over the last few years but it is good to see her back out there and getting back to her best.

  11. Fire 8-0published at 90 balls

    Target 125

Hayley Matthews is living dangerously. She's beaten by the third delivery of Issy Wong's opening set and the ball bounces over her stumps.

But after eight balls without scoring, the West Indies all-rounder gets off the mark in style. Coming across her stumps, she gets down on one knee and sweeps Issy Wong for four.

  12. Fire 2-0published at 95 balls

    Target 125

A single, a wide, and an early scare for Hayley Matthews, who probably won't be straying out of her crease against the lightning quick Georgia Redmayne again any time soon.

We cannot underestimate how good that was from a wicket-keeper point of view.

Terrific. Redmayne made it look so easy because remember, she is blinded by the batter.

  14. Not outpublished at 97 balls

Sorry Alex, it's not out. Hayley Matthews got her foot down just in time. An early let off for Welsh Fire.

This is an exceptional piece of glove work from Georgia Redmayne and is out in my opinion.

  16. Umpire reviewpublished at 97 balls

Has Hayley Matthews been stumped? This will be an amazing piece of wicketkeeping from Georgia Redmayne if she's out.

Left-arm seamers make it so difficult for right-hand batters. This will be an interesting match-up with Tara Norris.

The players are back out in the middle.

Welsh Fire are chasing 125 to pick up their first win of this year's competition.

Tara Norris will open the bowling for London Spirit.
