'incredible' fielding from Elwiss leads to direct hit run out

  1. Fire 53-1published at 59 balls

    Target 125

Sophia Dunkley has her first boundary of the day, lofting the ball over the fielder at mid-off and away for four. It's a lovely shot.

She's not had much of the strike but has moved onto 15 (12).

What a shot! What a way to bring up 50, from 22 balls. Brilliant knock. Tawanda Muyeye is some talent.

Tawanda Muyeye brings up a sparkling fifty off 22 balls with a mighty six off Noor Ahmad over mid-wicket.

That's his first half-century in The Hundred.

Those fielders at long-on and deep square are really important in stopping those twos.

You have to stop batters finding their rhythm and scoring easily.

  5. Fire 49-1published at 60 balls

    Target 125

Tammy Beaumont is batting with a smile on her face. She's clearly feeling calm about this chase.

She and Dunkley are happy to run hard for singles, picking up four off Sarah Glenn.

  6. Originals 90-0published at Invincibles v Originals

    Target 129

Manchester Originals head coach Simon Katich will be having kittens.

His team look utterly bereft of ideas as invincibles openers Will Jacks and Tawanda Muyeye both cruise past 40.

The hosts need just 39 from 60 balls.

  7. Fire 45-1published at 65 balls

    Target 125

Issy Wong is unlucky to see the second ball of the set race away for four leg byes - it was a beauty on Tammy Beaumont's pads.

Beaumont and Sophia Dunkley run hard for four runs off the remaining three balls. It's a positive end to the set after the wicket of Hayley Matthews.

Issy Wong can do no wrong.

Hayley Matthews can really hurt you when she gets going. Lovely ball.

Issy Wong has a brilliant knack of taking wickets and affecting the game. Brilliant ball, top of the stumps.

    Bails are everywhere.

Oooops. So much for Welsh Fire ticking along nicely...

A huge breakthrough from Issy Wong as she bowls Hayley Matthews for 26. That wicket came out of nowhere.

Welsh Fire have won the last six games in which they've survived the powerplay without losing a wicket.

  12. Fire 37-0published at 70 balls

    Target 125

Welsh Fire are ticking along nicely. Six runs from the set.

  13. Not outpublished at 71 balls

It's going down leg. A waste of London Spirit's only review.

Oh no. I would be not reviewing that. I thought they were discussing bowling plans.

  15. Spirit reviewpublished at 71 balls

London Spirit are reviewing a possible lbw against Hayley Matthews. It was given not out on the field.

Brilliant shot from Hayley Matthews. She hit off the back foot over the infield. Never an easy shot to play.

That shows to me that this is a decent surface and 124 is not really enough.

  17. Fire 36-0published at 73 balls

    Target 125

Hayley Matthews is all over London Spirit's field. She goes up and over again and despite three fielders setting off in pursuit, the ball wins the race to the rope.

A strange powerplay. Welsh Fire did not manage to chase many and Hayley Matthews was struggling at the start.

She has managed to catch up now and Fire should be happy and confident to chase this.

  19. Fire 31-0published at 75 balls

    Target 125

At the end of the powerplay, Welsh Fire are 31-0. Hayley Matthews has 21 (19) and Sophia Dunkley is not out on 5 (6).

London Spirit were 35-1 at the same stage but then collapsed to 35-4.

Early days of course, but Oval Invincibles are looking good for the three-peat.

The back-to-back defending champions have motored past 50-0 in pursuit of 129.

Manchester Originals looking short of ideas here.
