Liam Livingstone deserves that wicket. It goes straight up the chimney and Jos Buttler was always going to catch it. We've talked about USA's middle order struggling and that looks to be the case again today.

    Milind Kumar c Buttler b Livingstone 4 (USA 88-5)

Milind Kumar had been going nowhere fast, and he's now going back to the dressing room after a slog is skied high to leg. Jos Buttler shouts 'mine!' and pouches it with ease.

    Stick at it Matt....

  4. USA 87-4published at 13.3 overs

From out of nowhere, Corey Anderson slams a reverse sweep off Liam Livingstone for six over third! First boundary in an age.

  5. USA 79-4published at 13 overs

Chris Jordan, very much a local favourite, is into the attack and his into-the-wicket style proves hard to get away with five runs from his first over.

I was lucky to see him take an amazing catch on this ground a few years back, and the friendly local banter turned to applause when he plucked the ball from just above the turf.

See the first of Adil Rashid's two timber-rattling moments so far.

  7. USA 73-4published at 12 overs

Corey Anderson breaks the shackles with a slap down the ground, but that's stopped by a brilliant dive and throw from Sam Curran.

The all-rounder brought up a divot doing that, and he may have hurt his knee in the process.

What a marvellous catch! He's a hero, this man...

There was a fist bump between Corey Anderson and Adil Rashid after that wicket almost to acknowledge 'that was too good'.

  10. USA 70-4published at 11.3 overs

Milind Kumar joins Corey Anderson as the all-spin attack continues with Liam Livingstone at the other end.

I just about to say Nitesh Kumar has played well today, but he's been outdone by a beauty from Adil Rashid.

  12. WICKETpublished at 10.4 overs

    Nitish b Rashid 30 (USA 67-4)

    Pure class from Adil Rashid!

Nitish Kumar tries an extravagant drive but the googly deceives him and clips the top of middle and leg.

Lovely slight of hand, and England take an iron grip.

  13. USA 65-3published at 10 overs

England must be pleased with this start, the USA innings really has stalled.

    No sign of rain either!

What a bowler Adil is. Really hope he can stay fit and play into his 40s. We'd be a much poorer team without him.

This is real skill from Liam Livingstone. He's bowling off spin to Nitesh Kumar, and leg spin to Corey Anderson.

  16. USA 65-3published at 10 overs

The burly Corey Anderson, once of New Zealand, is the next man in. He's clearly keen to get some momentum back, but he and Nitish Kumar can only work Liam Livingstone around for a single off each delivery.

Super effort that from Adil Rashid, two overs for six and a wicket.

That was a beautiful googly that went through the gate. It was a big old heave to a really good delivery from Adil Rashid.

Adil Rashid has the USA's danger man. It's a lovely ball, the perfect googly.
