Issy Wong is back at her best and back competing. It was great to see her back in an England shirt this summer.

That is just what the Spirit needed.

    Kapp b Wong 33 (Inv 114-3)

    Issy Wong strikes!

She bowls Marizanne Kapp with a full delivery, ending a partnership of 77 off 47 deliveries.

Kapp had just smacked the previous ball down the ground for four, but now she has to head to the dug-out.

  3. Invincibles 110-2published at 25 balls left

    67 runs needed

Five singles off Sarah Glenn's last set - not enough for Invincibles.

The first of them brings up Meg Lanning's 50 off 39 balls.

Meanwhile Glenn finishes with figures of 1-28.

    Steven Finn
Former England fast bowler on BBC Two

Great use of the crease from Meg Lanning, stepping across to the off-side and using the length to get underneath the ball.

Invincibles just motoring a little bit here.

  5. 6 runs

Invincibles 105-2published at 30 balls left

    72 runs needed

    Another six!

Meg Lanning this time, slog-sweeping Dean for six over backward square - that takes Invincibles past 100.

A leg bye ends Dean's third set, she's gone for 0-31 in her first match as Spirit captain.

The players will take a time-out.

Invincibles need boundaries. They need one player who can clear the ropes and hit the ball cleanly and Marizanne Kapp is stepping up. Tremendous batting.

There is no room for singles now.

  7. 6 runs

Invincibles 97-2published at 33 balls left

    80 runs needed

    Well, that'll help!

Marizanne Kapp launches Charlie Dean down the ground for six, then follows that up with a swept four past backward square.

  8. Invincibles 87-2published at 35 balls left

    90 runs needed

Charli Knott sends down another tidy set.

Spirit very much on top, Invincibles will really need to go some from here to reach their target.

  9. Invincibles 81-2published at 40 balls left

    96 runs needed

    Away we go.

Lanning hits Glenn out to the square boundary and fielder Issy Wong almost runs past the ball, but does well to recover and do a goalkeeper-esque one-handed save before throwing back in.

Just a single in the end.

  10. Postpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 5 August

Oval Invincibles bowler Tash Farrant: "I haven't been playing much cricket but I am happy to be around the girls. As soon as I got out there with the girls, it was amazing.

"After being out with injury for so long, it gives you a lot of perspective on things. Getting to a place mentally is just as important as physically.

On bowling to Grace Harris: "Harris makes your margin for error so small. We didn't perform today on the field but hopefully we can chase this down."

  11. Postpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 5 August

Former London Spirit captain Heather Knight speaking on BBC Two about her new role in the team: "Rehab is my priority but it is really nice to be involved with the team as a coach and mentor.

"The girls are calling me 'the intern'. I have my notebook and I am learning on the job. I am loving being around cricket and helping wherever I can. I am not doing too much in the nets but it is nice to still be around the team."

    Isa Guha
Former England bowler on BBC Two

Meg Lanning is having fun out there. She is so hard to bowl to. She hits you one side and then the other, very similar to Grace Harris.

  14. Invincibles 79-2published at 43 balls left

    98 runs needed

    Ouch!

We'll take a break as umpire Sue Redfearn is struck on the head by the ball as it comes back in.

She appears OK to continue but that must have hurt.

It comes off the back of consecutive boundaries for Meg Lanning, hitting Sarah Glenn through the covers and then mid-wicket.

Invincibles now need less than a hundred runs off their remaining deliveries.

  15. Invincibles 71-2published at 45 balls left

    106 runs needed

Lanning adds two through point, taking her to 32 from 30 deliveries.

  16. 6 runs

Invincibles 69-2published at 47 balls left

A first six for Meg Lanning, smacking Eva Gray over long-off!

Prior to that, Marizanne Kapp picked up four in a similar area, her first boundary after scoring six from her first eight balls.

  17. Invincibles 58-2published at 50 balls left

    119 runs needed

    Another lbw wicket?

    No...

Charlie Dean goes up off her final delivery, hoping to see the umpire's finger rising.

Nothing doing, Meg Lanning survives and has 24 from 27 as we reach the half way stage.

  18. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 5 August

    Dane van Niekerk
Former South Africa captain on BBC Two

Invincibles need more boundaries and I would like to see more high risk cricket from this pair.

Singles and staying in there is not going to win you the game.

  19. Invincibles 53-2published at 55 balls left

Five singles off a set from spinner Charli Knott takes Invincibles past 50.

Knott, an uncapped Australian, has replaced the withdrawn Deepti Sharma in the Spirit squad.

    Ravi Bopara

A lovely shot from Meg Lanning. She dances down the wicket and pierces the gap in extra cover. You want to be getting four or six when you are taking a risk like that.

    Invincibles needs more of those.
