  1. Spirit 56-2published at 35 balls

More turn for Amanda-Jade Wellington but a frustrating end to an expensive five balls.

Cordelia Griffith attempts to follow Grace Harris' lead with a big hit, gets an outside edge but the ball goes away fine for four.

Good hitting from Grace Harris. That is a very difficult shot to play.

Harris has real power in her bat swing. She really takes it up high and comes back down with speed on the ball.

  3. 6 runs

    Spirit 51-2published at 33 balls

    That's huge!

Swing and a miss first ball from Grace Harris off her fellow Australian Amanda-Jade Wellington as the ball spins away from her... but she clubs the next back over the bowler's head for six.

Four more next ball, as well, pulled powerfully into the gap on the leg side.

  4. Spirit 41-2published at 30 balls

Very tidy start indeed from Sophia Smale.

A wicket and just three runs from her first five balls.

The last of them sees another very risky single for Spirit - and yet again, a direct hit would have seen the back of Cordelia Griffith.

The dangerous Grace Harris is the new batter.

    Phil Tufnell

Kira Chathli didn't get any sort of timing on that. She went dancing down the track and it was an incredibly comfortable catch in the field.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27 balls

    Chathli c Scholfield b Smale 19 (Spirit 40-2)

    Caught in the deep.

Sophia Smale strikes with her second ball as Kira Chathli tries to clear the ropes again.

No timing, though, and Paige Scholfield takes the catch a couple of yards off the boundary.

  7. Spirit 39-1published at 26 balls

London Spirit might be going well but they've pushed their luck with the quick singles.

On four or five occasions already a direct hit would have seen a run out.

This is good from London Spirit. They needed a bit of acceleration and they are getting it.

A great end to the powerplay and some crucial boundaries.

  9. 6 runs

    Spirit 38-1published at 25 balls

London Spirit get themselves going again with the last couple of balls of the powerplay!

Kira Chathli powers Phoebe Franklin high over the leg side for six and then goes elegantly over the off side for four more.

Just the end to the powerplay they'd have wanted.

  10. Spirit 25-1published at 20 balls

Ryana MacDonald-Gay comes into the attack and gets through a good five.

Just a couple of singles from that set.

  11. How's stat?!published at 15:01 British Summer Time 5 August

    Kieran Parmley
    Cricviz analyst

Tash Farrant is making her first appearance in the Hundred since the inaugural edition in 2021. Farrant's 18 wickets in the 2021 campaign is the most by any bowler in an edition of the women's Hundred.

  12. Spirit 23-1published at 15 balls

    Griffith 14, Chathli 6

Four more to end Tash Farrant's five.

She loses control of the slower ball and Cordelia Griffith wallops it away behind square for four more.

Griffith got her front leg out the way, picked the line early and a real positive follow through. A brilliant first six of the tournament.

Spirit needed to get their runs sorted, there have been a few run out chances already and quite a lot of dawdling.

'Hammered away' - Griffith hits first six of the competition over mid-wicket

There's no time for messing around in The Hundred - and Cordelia Griffith has come in determined get a move on!

After heaving for a pair of twos off Tash Farrant, she finally gets hold of one properly and nails it over the leg side for the first six of this year's tournament.

A brilliant review. The swing from Kapp and the wise old head of Lauren Winfield-Hill behind the stumps. She didn't even need to discuss with her bowler.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10 balls

    Redmayne lbw b Kapp 0 (Spirit 8-1)

That's why they were so confident!

Pitching in line from Marizanne Kapp and then swinging to beat the inside edge of Georgia Redmayne bat.

Impact in line and crashing into middle and leg.

Great start from Kapp, a six-ball duck for Redmayne.

    Spirit 8-0

Immediate review from Lauren Winfield-Hill as Marizanne Kapp strikes Georgia Redmayne on the back leg.

Invincibles are very confident this time...

At the start of the tournament, you need tone setters and that is what Kapp is doing.

London Spirit needed a boundary just to get the ball rolling.

  19. Spirit 7-0published at 8 balls

    Slapped away for four!

Great stuff from Kira Chatli, moving down the track to Marizanne Kapp and thumping the ball to the off-side boundary.

Marizanne Kapp is such a clever bowler. She can really get the ball moving away from a right-hander, into a left-hander.

There is some green grass on the surface which may get the ball carrying through.
