Sam Robson celebrates scoring centuryImage source, Rex Features

Sam Robson is forward to Jack Carson, driving the off spinner through mid off for four to reach his hundred.

Wickets have come and gone at the other end but Robson has held firm to reach his fifth century of the season.

    87 balls with 14 fours.

  2. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 28 September

    Worcs 180 v Lancs 108-7

George Balderson goes on the offensive, crashing Logan van Beek for a couple of boundaries in the space of three balls as Lancashire clamber above three figures.

At this stage, however, nowhere near enough for the visitors who have just three first-innings wickets intact.

Joe Leach is back on for another spell and, with two wickets to his name already, he'd love to polish off the tail and finish his New Road career with a five-for.

  3. dropped catch

Adam Lyth dropped on 106published at 15:08 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorkshire 195-1 v Northants 147

Adam Lyth cuts Fateh Singh past slip for four but he hits the next ball high to Luke Procter running to deep mid on.

He had to make a lot of ground to get to that ball but couldn't quite hold on.

  4. wicket

WICKET Vince st Rew b Leach 54published at 15:04 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 103-5 (target 121)

Giveaway from the Hampshire skipper, James Vince runs down and gets nowhere near it.

Freebie wicket for Jack Leach, a big wicket but too little too late.

Ben Brown in at seven this innings with just 18 to get to win.

  5. wicket

WICKET De Caires c Carson b Coles 1published at 15:03 British Summer Time 28 September

    Sussex v Middlesex 191-6

Wickets in successive overs for Sussex.

Josh de Caires comes and goes in seven balls as he top edges a slog sweep to Jack Carson at deep square leg off the bowling of James Coles.

    Luke Hollman will bat next.

  6. 100 runs

100 for Adam Lythpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 184-1 v Northants 147

Short from Luke Procter and pulled away on one foot for four.

There it is! His fifth century of the season and he gets much-deserved applause from the Yorkshire faithful.

111 balls with 17 fours and a six.

  7. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 98-4 (target 121)

Liam Dawson top edges a slog sweep off his left-arm spin counterpart all the way for six.

He is 27* and James Vince has 53*.

This game could now be over in time for Andrew Sampson to take his train away from Somerset comms back up north before teatime.

Just 23 runs to win now.

  8. wicket

WICKET Davies b Carson 4published at 14:57 British Summer Time 28 September

    Sussex v Middlesex 188-5

The Middlesex charge might be slowing from this point as Sussex fight back to take their fifth wicket.

Jack Davies misses an attempted booming drive off the off spinner Jack Carson and he's been castled.

Josh de Caires is in next.

  9. Postpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 28 September

    Notts 487 v Warwickshire 37-2

Sam Hain has steadied the Warwickshire ship since he came in, clipping a couple of leg-side boundaries as the visitors recover from 6-2.

Hain has 14, while Will Rhodes is digging in at the other end and has seven to his name - but the Bears will know they are almost safe, irrespective of what happens in this game.

  10. Postpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 165-1 v Northants 147

Fateh Singh is going to have a bowl for the first time at this level and his left-arm spin gets Adam Lyth LBW as the opener is hit on the pad, missing a sweep.

Too leg side? Certainly worth a shout.

The 150 partnership for the second wicket with James Wharton comes in 186 balls as Wharton gets a single off Singh, driven off a slight leading edge into the off side for one.

  11. 50 runs

50 for James Vincepublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 91-4 (target 121)

James Vince nearly chips Shoaib Bashir straight to Jack Leach in nomansland at mid-long on.

Yet again the two Somerset and England spinners misfield off each others bowling, this time the less common way around as an awkward bounce gets past Leach and creeps away for four.

One of the least convincing shots in an otherwise very convincing innings.

  12. wicket

    WICKET Higgins c Hudson-Prentice b Coles 40published at 14:50 British Summer Time 28 September

    Sussex v Middlesex 181-4

    Middlesex continue to score rapidly.

Two fours for Sam Robson off Fynn Hudson-Prentice, pulling to square leg and lofting over mid wicket.

But now Ryan Higgins is out.

He slog sweeps James Coles for six and is caught in the deep by Hudson-Prentice trying to repeat the dose.

    That's a 28-ball 40 in a barnstorming partnership of 78 in 8.3 overs.

Jack Davies is in next to join Sam Robson - who is 91 not out.

  13. Elsewhere...published at 14:49 British Summer Time 28 September

Durham's batters are enjoying themselves against Kent. They've raced to 263-2 off just 56 overs with David Bedingham 47 not out off 24 balls.

    Alex Lees has 138.

Dean Elgar and Matt Critchley bump fistsImage source, Rex Features

Essex are also having fun in the Chelmsford sunshine. They're now 358-2 against champions Surrey with Dean Elgar (149 not out) and Matt Critchley (53 not out) sharing a century stand.

Leicestershire opener Sol Budinger has gone for 87 against Derbyshire, but the Foxes are still well placed on 138-1.

Chasing 382 in the set-up game at Glamorgan, Gloucestershire are 78-2. Each side forfeited an innings this morning.

  14. wicket

WICKET: Bell lbw b Waitepublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 28 September

    Worcs 180 v Lancs 93-7

It's very nearly game up for Lancashire.

Matthew Waite sends down one that keeps straight and low, thudding into the pads of George Bell - who is now trudging off.

Lancashire are a long way from the 250 that they'll almost certainly need as a minimum first innings total.

  15. Postpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 84-4 (target 121)

James Vince and Liam Dawson are too good, the two senior pros getting the job done professionally it seems, under 40 to win now.

  16. Yorkshire surging to promotionpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 159-1 v Northants 147

Adam Lyth drives Gus Miller through wide mid off for four to move to 81 and it is difficult to see anything other than a huge Yorkshire lead that would eliminate Middlesex hopes for a Northants win to aid their promotion bid.

Miller pushes the ball out wider and Lyth leaves it alone.

Miller's fifth ball is smashed through cover for four as the opener holds the pose.

  17. wicket

WICKET: Wells b Home 38published at 14:43 British Summer Time 28 September

    Worcs 180 v Lancs 91-6

Maiden first-class wicket for 18-year-old Jack Home - and the young Worcestershire seamer does it in style!

Home celebrates after uprooting Luke Wells' middle stump - and that wicket, you feel, is pushing the trapdoor a little more open underneath the Red Rose.

Six down, with their last senior batter now gone.

  18. Postpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 78-4 (target 121)

Shoaib Bashir into the attack, last chance saloon for Somerset.

    Only 43 runs to win.

Bashir went for 47 off 11 overs in the first innings and gets away with a leg side loosener first ball here.

  19. Middlesex on the chargepublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 28 September

    Sussex v Middlesex 159-3

Middlesex pass the 150-mark in 26.4 overs as James Coles drops short and Ryan Higgins pulls the ball through mid wicket for four.

Two balls later, he slog sweeps the left-arm spinner for six.

12 runs off the over in all.

  20. 50 runs

50 for James Whartonpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 146-1 v Northants 147

Not how he would've wanted to get there but this has been a fine innings overall.

He tries to drive Gus Miller through the off side on the back foot and the ball squirts away between first and second slip for four.

That's his third 50 of the season and he also has one century, which he made against Derbyshire in June.

    81 balls with nine fours.

He celebrates reaching the landmark with four more runs, pulled through mid wicket.
