  1. wicket

WICKET Middleton c Rew b Gregory 2published at 13:53 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 21-3 (target 121)

A slight quiet in play as James Vince gets to 16* and Fletcha Middleton got a few runs calmly against Lewis Gregory and Alfie Ogborne, but the former gets his third!

Middleton did not walk, and the umpire had to give him the slow death.

    Somerset cock-a-hoop again.

  2. NOTTINGHAMSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 28 September

    Notts 487 v Warks

Dan Mousley comes on and does the trick as Warwickshire finally bowl their hosts out, for an imposing 487.

Mousley lures Jacob Duffy - who had looked very accomplished for his 29 - out of the crease and smart glovework by Michael Burgess behind the stumps seals his fate.

Harsh on Kyle Verreynne, who is left stranded on 148 not out - but you feel he and Freddie McCann, who scored a hundred on day two, have done enough to ensure Notts cannot lose this game.

It's going to be a straight shootout between Lancashire and Warwickshire as to who goes down... but the Bears are HEAVY favourites to stay up.

  3. Postpublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 89-1 v Northants 147

James Wharton drives Justin Broad through the off side for four to move to 28 and tries to pierce cover next ball but doesn't clear the field this time.

He gets a single off the third ball and Adam Lyth misses a flick to leg.

The LBW shout is turned down. Missing leg stump.

  4. wicket

WICKET Holden b Unadkat 24published at 13:47 British Summer Time 28 September

    Sussex v Middlesex 69-2

Max Holden is accelerating smartly with two more fours, this time off the bowling of Jaydev Unadkat.

He steers the bowler to deep third with a gentle front foot push and deposits the fifth ball through cover off the back foot.

And now he's accelerating back to the pavilion after a bright and breezy 23-ball innings.

He mistimes a straight drive and loses his off stump.

Leus du Plooy is in at number four in the order.

  5. Century for Leespublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 28 September

    Durham 165-1 v Kent

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Lees has batted really nicely on day three of this rain-affected match. It's effectively day one and he's been making up for lost time.

He nearly got to his hundred before lunch and was on 95 at the break. The century eventually came in 115 balls and included 15x4s.

He put on 80 for the first wicket with Ben McKinney, who was out this morning for 23. He's now added another 85 with Emilio Gay, who has 38.

    Durham are 165-1.

  6. 6 runs

Adam Lyth goes bigpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 83-1 v Northants 147

A tad short from Justin Broad and Adam Lyth is back and across to smack the ball over square leg for a maximum.

    He moves on to 46.

  7. Postpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 28 September

    Sussex v Middlesex 60-1

Max Holden plays and misses while defending outside off stump but survives the Ollie Robinson over.

Henry Crocombe drops short at the other end and Sam Robson pulls the ball away for four.

The Middlesex 50 comes in 13.2 overs as Robson stays in the crease and pushes the ball through point for one.

Holden ends the over in style with two successive silky drives through cover for four.

  8. wicket

WICKET: Flintoff lbw b van Beek 13published at 13:38 British Summer Time 28 September

    Worcs 180 v Lancs 30-4

And it gets even worse for the Red Rose faithful...

Two wickets in two balls as Rocky Flintoff is leg before to the first delivery of the next over from Logan van Beek.

This is a massive ask now for Luke Wells and Matty Hurst, neither of whom have yet faced a ball.

  9. Postpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 77-1 v Northants 147

Adam Lyth shoulders arms to leave Jack White outside off stump.

The opener picks up a single off the second ball, punching square on the off side.

James Wharton leans on the next ball, turning it wide of mid on for a couple more.

He drives down the ground and beats the outstretched hand of a tumbling Jack White for two runs. Just 70 behind now.

  10. wicket

WICKET: Bohannon lbw b Leach 8published at 13:36 British Summer Time 28 September

    Worcs 180 v Lancs 30-3

Another big wicket as Joe Leach strikes again!

Josh Bohannon is struck on the pad and he's walking back to the dressing room now, with Lancashire's top order in tatters.

Somehow, someone needs to score some runs...

  11. dropped catch

Dropped catch for the hat-trick!published at 13:33 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 2-2 (target 121)

Should have been 0-3 and a hat-trick for Lewis Gregory to start the fourth innings!

A tougher chance than the one Kasey Aldridge dropped off Keaton Jennings last week or off Toby Albert in the first innings, but he did get two hands to it swooping low from second slip.

It squirms off his fingers for two and Hampshire are off the mark in the least convincing fashion...has there ever been a hat-trick in the first three balls of a County Championship fourth innings!?

  12. Postpublished at 13:32 British Summer Time 28 September

    Sussex v Middlesex 43-1

Henry Crocombe squares Max Holden up a little as he plays inside the line at the last moment.

Next up Holden defends into the off side and then drives handsomely through cover for four.

He gets a single into the off side to move to six.

  13. Postpublished at 13:31 British Summer Time 28 September

    Notts 459-9 v Warks

It looks as though Jacob Duffy has been given licence to go out and enjoy himself, with Nottinghamshire moving along briskly after lunch.

Duffy is into double figures already, punching Rob Yates off the back foot for four, while Kyle Verreynne has unfurled a slog sweep for six and is now just 11 short of reaching 150.

  14. wicket

WICKET Gubbins c Umeed b Gregory 0published at 13:31 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 0-2 (target 121)

First two balls of the innings!!

Another beauty, another edge, this time caught in the slips by Andy Umeed as Lewis Gregory sets up a hat-trick ball to bowl at his opposite skipper James Vince.

  15. wicket

WICKET Albert c Rew b Gregory 0published at 13:28 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset v Hants 0-1 (target 121)

    Wicket first ball!!!

Well, well, well what a start to the final innings of this match for Somerset.

Toby Albert could not leave that ball being so close to off stump, Lewis Gregory takes his confidence with the bat into his bowling, the skipper setting the tone perfectly.

  16. Postpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 68-1 v Northants 147

Too full from Justin Broad, who is twice driven through the off side by James Wharton for four.

The rest of the over is much better and Wharton sees it out defending down the ground.

    Good news for Northants.

Jack White has recovered from his leg injury sustained off a full-blooded straight drive this morning and will bowl from the Kirkstall Lane End.

His first ball however is driven through cover for four to bring up the 50 partnership with Wharton in 68 balls.

  17. Back out at Tauntonpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 28 September

    Somerset 136 & 180 v Hants 196

121 runs for Hampshire to get to win then.

Top scorer in the match Toby Albert (77) comes out for his final bat of the season alongside Fletcha Middleton again.

Yes if those of you of a certain vintage have not yet realised he is the son of Tony Middleton.

  18. Back under way at New Roadpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 28 September

    Worcs 180 v Lancs 19-2

Logan van Beek, who had a decent morning with the bat, is handed the ball for the first over after lunch and gets Josh Bohannon to play and miss.

Having said that, Van Beek seems to be causing problems for himself as well as he takes a tumble in the follow-through. Just one run from the over, a single to Rocky Flintoff as Lancashire look to recover from losing those two early wickets.

  19. Play resumes at Headingleypublished at 13:23 British Summer Time 28 September

    Yorks 56-1 v Northants 147
