Day three just might be the best day of the four.

But as anyone who viewed our text commentary will agree, we're starting from a very modest base.

The biggest issue today will not be rain, but the water damage the fields have already taken. With that in mind there will be a further pitch inspection at 11:00 BST at Leicestershire with a view to starting at midday.

There's going to be another inspection at 10:30 at Hove, where Middlesex need to get started against Sussex for any chance of catching Yorkshire, who currently hold the second promotion spot in Division Two.

We can expect sunny intervals for most of the day at Cardiff, Taunton, Worcester, Headingley and Nottingham.

It's going to be positively balmy at Chelmsford. Dry all day with bright sunshine expected until lunchtime and a top temperature of around 14 degrees.

Yep, after a couple of days the ducks have enjoyed, we've finally got a usable Saturday for cricket.

A couple of outfields are still posing some problems, so let's see where we are...
