An Australian wicketkeeper being involved in controversy at Lord's, well I never. This was one was born in Yorkshire, as well.

It's all got a bit 2023 here at Lord's with loud boos from the crowd after the replays show that ball clearly bounced before reaching Josh Inglis' gloves.

  3. Brook survivespublished at 16.4 overs

Those boos turn to cheers as Harry Brook is given not out, overturning the original decision given on the field.

Boos from the crowd as the TV replays appear to show the ball has kissed the turf.

  5. Umpire reviewpublished at 16.4 overs

Has Harry Brook been strangled down the leg side by Mitchell Starc?

There seems to be some doubt if it's carried to Josh Inglis.

  6. Eng 95-2published at 16.3 overs

Here's how Mitchell Marsh removed Will Jacks a few moments ago. The ball is still hooping round at Lord's.

That wasn't really a bad ball at all from Mitchell Marsh. That's a terrific shot from Harry Brook! That really is!

Since Phil Salt's ODI debut in 2021, only four of the 21 full-member batters to have opened the batting as frequently as Salt have a lower average than his 32.65.

Bobble hats being sported by members of the Australia backroom team on their balcony.

Harry Brook continues to show intent as he hurries down the pitch to the first ball of Mitchell Marsh's third over and clinically whips it through mid-wicket with a bit of a flourish.

The stand-in England skipper dispatches Marsh's penultimate delivery to the fence with a velvety push into the leg side.

    Thanks, Mike.

Quite tricky to know what a good score is here given the conditions. You'd have thought a slightly shorter game would probably suit England's batting more than Australia, mind.

  11. Eng 80-2published at 15 overs

Starc returns to replace Abbott, and Brook turns his opening delivery around the corner for four.

Duckett takes three firing the ball out to mid-wicket, before Brook fires a meaty shot out to the deep point fielder to close the over - deserved more than the single it got.

A reasonable start for England - here's Timothy Abraham to take you through the rest of their innings.

  12. Eng 72-2published at 14 overs

Time for Tuesday's centurion, here's England's stand-in skipper Harry Brook.

He takes a single, pushing the ball into the off side.

Same place, same shot and England are two down! It was hit with a little more power than Phil Salt but Will Jacks has mistimed that!

Two down - and a mirror image of the first wicket.

Jacks edges Marsh's delivery to Labuschagne at point, with the Australian fielder leaping to his left to take a smart catch.

Disappointing for Jacks after his strong showing on Tuesday.

Tim, Alton Towers (not a rollercoaster person): Once he’s fit, I’m a huge advocate for Crawley with Duckett opening in ODIs. They compliment each other so well, and Crawley’s defence is probably a little more effective than Salt’s when the ball is moving about.

  16. Eng 69-1published at 13 overs

Jacks spots an opportunity and whips Abbott away through mid-wicket for four.

Hit uppishly but hard, easily making the ropes.

Why has Mitchell Marsh not bowled earlier?! He's moved the ball by miles!

  18. Eng 63-1published at 12 overs

Mitchell Marsh brings himself onto bowl, as Hazlewood slips out of the Australian attack.

He finds some decent movement early on, but goes too full with his fourth delivery and Duckett drives him confidently through mid-off for four.

Dom: I rate Salt but he's not really got going in ODIs, and has another low score today. Wonder if they'll start looking at other options soon?

  20. Eng 56-1published at 11 overs

Duckett gets four from the final ball of the over, firing Abbott's delivery back down the ground.

Prior to that review, England brought up their fifty from 10.2 overs, as Jacks took a single into the covers.
