Breakthrough! The Zak Chappell vigil was a joy to watch but it's over now.

He tries to tap Liam Patterson-White through square leg and pops a catch up to George Bartlett on the on side.

    Blair Tickner will bat next.

Andy Umeed settles the game in style for the hosts with two mighty blows off the bowling of Marcus O'Riordan.

He's down the ground to the spinner, launching him over mid on to level the score.

The next ball turns out to be the last of the match as he smashes a six over wide mid on down on bended knee!

Umeed finishes on 73 not out. His highest score for Somerset.

Matt Renshaw strolls off 82 not out.

Somerset have their second Championship win of the season and pip Essex to second in the table behind leaders Surrey.

Kent batted superbly in their second innings to reach 564, led by Zak Crawley's 238, but the real damage was done in their first innings, where they crashed to 178.

  3. Postpublished at 17:37 20 May

    Derbys 250-7 v Northants (target 371)

Well, who saw this coming at tea when the hosts were 149-7?

Zak Chappell takes the eighth wicket stand to 100 with Anuj Dal, working Liam Patterson-White behind square leg for four.

The 250 comes up in the 72nd over via a Chappell leg bye off the same bowler.

  4. Postpublished at 17:36 20 May

    Glamorgan v Middlesex 176-8 (target 213)

Tom Helm survives a close call as he makes room, aiming a big heave at a ball outside off stump from Mason Crane and the close fielders all appeal for a catch behind.

The umpire is unmoved by Glamorgan's enthusiasm and Helm ends the over with a single to long off, taking him to four while Jack Davies has seven.

Technically, there are 15 overs left.

  5. Postpublished at 17:35 20 May

    Somerset 182-2 v Kent (target 189)

Matt Renshaw is forward to Joe Denly pushing into the off side but there's no run.

He tries turning it into the on side but can't get it past Joey Evison.

    Maiden over.

  6. Postpublished at 17:33 20 May

    Somerset 182-2 v Kent (target 189)

A despairing dive at mid wicket won't stop that swat from Andy Umeed off the bowling of Marcus O'Riordan from reaching the boundary and he moves on to 61.

He gets a single off the fourth and Matt Renshaw has the strike with one to mid off.

    Seven to win.

  7. Postpublished at 17:31 20 May

    Somerset 173-2 v Kent (target 189)

    16 needed.

  8. Postpublished at 17:29 20 May

    Glamorgan v Middlesex 173-8 (target 213)

Mason Crane has never taken six wickets in an innings, but this looks like a gilt-edged opportunity for him to change that statistic.

The leg-spinner has an lbw appeal against Jack Davies turned down and instead has to concede four leg-byes as the ball rolls away to the rope.

Middlesex manage to eke out three singles from the rest of Crane's over, but they still need 40 more with just two wickets standing.

  9. WICKET Handscomb st Bracey b Middleton 81published at 17:29 20 May

    Leics 316-7 f/o (trail by 19) v Gloucs

    Make that three wickets needed!

Spinner Ed Middleton sends a ball down the leg side, Peter Handscomb misses and James Bracey takes off the bails.

Great bit of keeping, and the Australian is on his way.

  10. 50 for Andy Umeedpublished at 17:28 20 May

    Somerset 167-2 v Kent (target 189)

He gets to his second 50 of the season in 82 balls with five fours, moving back and across to Joe Denly to cut the ball through he off side for one.

It's also the 100 partnership for the third wicket with Matt Renshaw.

He celebrates in the next over by lofting Marcus O'Riordan over long on for four.

Two more singles come in the over. 22 to win.

Josh Shaw celebrates taking wicketImage source, Rex Features

    Gloucestershire still believe!

Josh Shaw finds the edge of Ben Cox's bat and Ollie Price takes a sharp catch at slip.

Four more wickets for the visitors, 18 overs to go.

  12. Postpublished at 17:24 20 May

    Somerset 157-2 v Kent (target 189)

Somerset are nearing the finish line and pass 150 in the 37th over as Andy Umeed squeezes the leg spin of Joe Denly to square leg for a single.

Four runs lofted over long on from the crease by Umeed off Marcus O'Riordan at the other end and he'll keep the strike with a single off the last ball of the over.

    Somerset need 32.

  13. Postpublished at 17:21 20 May

    Derbys 245-7 v Northants (target 371)

Michael Finan bangs the ball in short to Zak Chappell, who plays it off his hip to fine leg for one.

He adjusts his line to Anuj Dal, who drives through the off side without clearing the field.

But the last ball is short and pulled square for two.

  14. Postpublished at 17:17 20 May

    Somerset 148-2 v Kent (target 189)

A rare airborne shot from Matt Renshaw, who drives Marcus O'Riordan over long on for four.

The target is down to 41.

Four singles come from the leg spin of Joe Denly in the next over and Andy Umeed reverse sweeps O'Riordan for four more.

    Somerset accelerating.

  15. Five-wicket haul for Mason Cranepublished at 17:16 20 May

    Glamorgan v Middlesex 161-8 (target 213)

Mason Crane (Glamorgan)Image source, Rex Features

Eight down and Mason Crane is spinning Glamorgan to an unlikely victory here.

Luke Hollman departs, glancing one down the leg side into the gloves of Chris Cooke and Crane now has figures of 5-67 - his second five-wicket return since he joined the Welsh county on loan from Hampshire.

Tom Helm is the new man in for Middlesex, whose innings has disintegrated from 102-1.

  16. Postpublished at 17:15 20 May

    Derbys 240-7 v Northants (target 371)

Four more runs to Zak Chappell, waiting in the crease for Rob Keogh and pulling a short ball through square leg.

He gets four more at the other end off Michael Finan guided wide of the two slips and survives an LBW shout. Too leg side.

    He takes the leg bye.

Single to Anuj Dal and the fourth ball deflects off the pads of Chappell for four leg byes.

    10 runs off the over.

  17. WICKET: Roland-Jones lbw b Crane 0published at 17:08 20 May

    Glamorgan v Middlesex 159-7 (target 213)

    Glamorgan must be favourites now...

Toby Roland-Jones has spent Mason Crane's last two overs being repeatedly bamboozled and finally he's trapped in front by the googly.

Crane has figures of 4-67 and Glamorgan need three more wickets.

Luke Hollman is in to join Jack Davies for Middlesex.

  18. Postpublished at 17:08 20 May

    Somerset 132-2 v Kent (target 189)

Joey Evison drops very short bowling to Matt Renshaw and that's a no ball for height.

Renshaw cuts the next ball to deep backward point for one.

Andy Umeed will keep the strike with a single pushed to long on.

    Calm attrition for Somerset.

  19. Postpublished at 17:05 20 May

    Derbys 224-7 v Northants (target 371)

More frustration for Northants as Anuj Dal clips Rob Keogh just short of Justin Broad at forward short leg and the return throw nearly hits the stumps with Dal out of his crease.

A minimum of 17 overs left and Northants are still three wickets short.

Michael Finan is back on at the other end.

  20. Postpublished at 17:03 20 May

    Glamorgan v Middlesex 159-6 (target 213)

Middlesex captain Toby Roland-Jones has come in to take responsibility for steering his side over the line - but that task is looking like an uphill struggle at the moment.

Roland-Jones has just taken the best part of an over from Mason Crane and was beaten by each delivery. This is really turning for Crane and it might be turning in favour of Glamorgan as well.
