Rule ideas Ideally, enough days extra days for all games to be played. Maybe, one day at a ground with at least two wickets ready for additional matches. But if that's not still possible, how about. Everyone has to play the same number of games at the close of the table. Then the table is at least fair on that level. Or maybe some sort of DLS equation for this, possibly including virtual points, like the old football pools.

Can't take on anything stronger than a brew right now. Today has been a battle, if you get my drift.

What I feel is... that the brews you mention definitely won't be strong enough.

There's still some hope, mind. They need to be playing by 21:48 BST for a five-over match, so there's still two hours' grace. We need to factor in some mopping-up time, too.

What on earth are we supposed to feel about this? It's like that last day of the fourth Test at Old Trafford last summer, when England's Ashes hope were washed away by the Manchester rain.

Right, that was a dazzling couple of hours, wasn't it?

Thrills, spills, great sporting memories made.

I'm handing over to Stephan Shemilt for a bit just so I can get over it.

This is a sterling performance by Namibia. Never expected our guys to secure a draw against England. Well done!

Can someone explain to me why pitch inspections need to be scheduled? Why can't the umpires inspect the pitch as soon as it stops raining?

Scotland fan here. No-one wins out of this. It’s a truly farcical way to decide who goes through, and an extremely hollow victory for us if we do without this game being played.

Scratch that. It's raining again - heavily.

In that brief, dry window there was a suggestion the umpires would inspect at 19:45 BST.

    That will now not happen.

In response to Gordon from Aberdeen, that is very harsh! Scotland may only progress having avoided defeat to England due to the rain - we’ll never know. It is ridiculous, however, that a major tournament can be determined by the weather. I like Dave’s Super Over suggestion earlier!

    Nick, Stockport

I’m not sure it’s fair of people to say that it’s solely due to the Australia game that England will go out - Scotland could have a shocker and still go through just by the fact they’ve managed to play more games.

  16. Next pitch inspection at 20:00 BSTpublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 15 June

We've had another update - there won't another inspection for another hour.

So should this match go ahead we'll definitely have lost overs.

The latest it can start - for a five-over game - is 21:46 BST.

A reminder for those just arriving, if this match isn't planned then England are out of the T20 World Cup and Scotland progress to the Super 8s.

To anybody looking from outside, imagine trying to explain that there's no play if the game doesn't start by 4:46pm in Antigua - Antigua! There's a Blast game starting in Sussex at 7pm!

Before the start of the tournament all teams of the group should play a super over. If the game is abandoned the winner of the super over gets the points.

Samuel Kirkwood: England's early departure would largely be down to poor tactics and inept bowling against Australia, so yes, blame has to fall on the captain and coach.
