What a Scotland kit that is, by the way!

It's just held up in the pitch a little bit, he's not got the timing he wanted.

Safyaan will take lots of confidence from that. The next five balls are very important.

Again, this could be a dream powerplay.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5.1 overs

    Marsh c sub (Tear) b Sharif 8 (Aus 34-2)

Safyaan Sharif is so often the man Scotland turn to with the ball, and he delivers again here.

Mitchell Marsh tries to go big, but is hitting against the breeze and Charlie Tear - on as a sub fielder - takes a good catch in the deep.

It was a tough chance but when you get two hands to it, at his level, you need to be taking that.

  6. Aus 28-1 (target 181)published at 4.3 overs

A big moment in this game, as Travis Head gets a life.

The Australia opener tries to hit Chris Sole back down the ground, but skies it somewhat.

Michael Jones runs back and makes up good ground, but can't cling on.

The worst thing about this chase so far is that there's no milk in my fridge, so I'm having to have a black coffee.

This is going ot be a very nerve-wracking 15 or 16 overs. The heart rate is going up.

Would I have taken those first four overs in the chase? Absolutely.

  9. Aus 23-1 (target 181)published at 4 overs

A dot to finish the fourth as Head plays and misses.

  10. Aus 23-1 (target 181)published at 3.5 overs

Head is so, so dangerous at the top of the order for Australia, and he belts another boundary through midwicket.

  11. Aus 19-1 (target 181)published at 3.2 overs

Short from Wheal and Head throws his hands at it.

    Four more through backward point.

Not a great start from Mark Watt - someone Scotland will rely on to bowl tight. He just got his length wrong in that over.

Scotland need to keep Australia as quiet as possible so that rate starts to climb.

  13. Aus 14-1 (target 181)published at 3 overs

Head carves away behind point for four to finish the over, and Australia are up and running.

  14. Aus 10-1 (target 181)published at 2.5 overs

Four from Marsh through midwicket breaks the shackles somewhat, before Travis Head mistimes one over the off side for another couple.

  15. Aus 3-1 (target 181)published at 2 overs

Very tidy from Wheal, who concedes just one run in addition to the wicket.

More spin, as Mark Watt replaces Michael Leask.

  16. Aus 2-1 (target 181)published at 1.3 overs

Mitch Marsh defends his first ball back down the track.

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but that is the dream start.

A very dangerous batter coming to the crease though, captain Mitch Marsh.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.2 overs

    Warner c Berrington b Wheal 0 (Aus 2-1)

    What a start for Scotland!

Brad Wheal pushes his second delivery across David Warner, and the veteran opener skews it straight up in the air.

Richie Berrington is safe as houses at cover.

  19. Au 2-0 (target 181)published at 1 overs

Spin to start Australia's innings, as Michael Leask looks to turn it away from David Warner and Travis Head.

Just two singles from it. It'll be Brad Wheal from the other end...

  20. Some more stats for Brandon McMullen's CVpublished at 03:17 British Summer Time 16 June

Some more stats from cricket analyst Ric Finlay on X - formerly Twitter:

Brandon McMullen's 60 (34) is the highest score by a player for a non-Test team against Australia in T20Is, surpassing UAE's Shaiman Anwar, who made 41 (44) in 2018.

McMullen also only the 15th player to take six or more sixes off an Australian attack in T20Is. Joins the likes of Gayle, Guptill, Kohli, McCullum and Sharma.
