    Back in the boundaries!

Fraser-McGurk clouts Rashid down the ground for six - it's short down the ground in Cardiff!

Carse is bowling brilliantly right now. His quicker ball is 90-91mph, but his slower delivery is mid to late 70s. It is such a change in pace it is hard to commit as a batter to going forwards or back.

  3. Aus 77-1published at 8 overs

Australia are definitely struggling to get Brydon Carse away, with the England seamer varying his pace.

The tourists take runs from every ball of the over, but none of their shots reach the ropes.

Didn't England learn anything from the first game when Curran got smashed all over? Probably best not to bowl him again in a powerplay.

The crowd in Cardiff are loving Adil Rashid's work in his first over.

They gave the leggie a big cheer when he was introduced to the attack and every time Jake Fraser-McGurk struggled to get him away, they sounded their approval again.

  6. Aus 70-1published at 7 overs

England introduce spin straight out of the powerplay, turning to the experienced head of Adil Rashid.

The leggie immediately gums up the Australian charge, with just three singles coming off the over.

After two matches this series, England's powerplay bowling economy is 12.8rpo. That's the second highest economy for any team in any T20I series ever (minimum two matches).

  8. Aus 67-1published at 6 overs

Just a couple of singles to end the powerplay, but Australia will be delighted with their start.

Jake Fraser-McGurk is flirting with danger.

  10. Aus 65-1published at 5.4 overs

Jake Fraser-McGurk came into the side today after missing out on the first T20 in Southampton, and he's straight into his groove.

He hits Sam Curran for three successive fours, driving past mid-off, pulling over mid-on and then smoking a drive through the covers.

  11. Who are the new Aussie faces?published at 18:55 British Summer Time 13 September

England aren't the only side to be refreshing their line-up in this series - Australia's three changes sees a trio players who'll make their first international appearances in a series against the old enemy.

The 22-year-old batter Jake Fraser-McGurk will bat at three. He has been touted as the 'next David Warner' by Ricky Ponting after shining as an opener for Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

21-year-old left-armer Cooper Connolly is an all-rounder by trade but is in the side as specialist spinner.

Aaron Hardie, 25, is a bowling all-rounder who can bat up the order in T20 cricket, but is down at eight this evening.

  12. Aus 53-1published at 5 overs

Fantastic first over from Brydon Carse, just two runs and a wicket.

One of those runs went to new batter Jake Fraser-McGurk, who got off the mark from his first ball with an edged pull.

One over to go in the powerplay.

Good from Carse, 91mph so just that upping in pace. Head wasn't fully committed to the shot. It was that length at the top of the stumps which Head has not been quite as good at hitting.

  14. wicket

    Head c Rashid b Carse 31 (Aus 52-1)

    Head falls!

And it's a bowling change that brings the breakthrough, as Brydon Carse picks up a wicket with his second ball.

The Aussie skipper whips the ball into the hands of Adil Rashid at point - he barely has to move.

31 from 14 balls though, not to be sniffed at.

Here we go again. Hopefully our bowlers get more control than in the first ten overs the other evening.

  16. Aus 51-0published at 4 overs

Fifty up for Australia, from just four overs.

The tourists plunder three fours from Mahmood's over - Head sends a hurried pull to backward square, a Short flying edge reaches the ropes at third, then Head brings up the half-century with another uppish cut.

In T20 Powerplays this year, Travis Head has over 1,000 runs, at an average of 60, striking at 192. Unmitigated gun.

  18. Aus 37-0published at 3 overs

Just one more single from Topley's second over, as Short whips the ball out to the fielder at the mid-wicket boundary.

  19. 6 runs

    Aus 36-0published at 2.2 overs

    Short is flying here!

He lifts Topley for his own six down the ground, then cuts uppishly for four more.

That's 24 from seven balls for the opener.

  20. 6 runs

    Aus 26-0published at 2 overs

Saqib Mahmood takes the ball at the other end for England, bowling to Travis Head.

The stand-in Australia captain top edges Mahmood's second ball over the keeper's head for four, then picks up six with the penultimate delivery of the over, lofting the ball down the ground.
