Josh Bohannon blocksImage source, Rex Features

Northants captain Luke Procter brings left arm spinner Saif Zaib on to bowl with one slip in place.

Josh Bohannon is carefully forward to block at first and gets a single off the fourth ball, pushed to long on.

Marcus Harris sees off the over.

  2. 'Essex haven't bowled well with new ball'published at 11:50 British Summer Time 14 April

    Notts 347 & 257-8 (lead by 237)

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Essex haven't bowled too well with the second new ball.

They've just got slightly carried away with ingenious ways to get them out. There's been a lot of leg-side bowling, but this partnership has done well.

  3. Postpublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 14 April

Glamorgan 136-3 - trail Gloucestershire by 26 runs

Escape for Glamorgan's Kiran Carlson who flicks Ajeet Singh Dale straight at Chris Dent who parries but just fails to pull of an incredible juggling catch at short leg while flat on his back.

Bristol is a cauldron of pressure for the Glam batters this morning.

    Aldridge c Simpson b Seales 14 (Somerset 152-6 & 201, target 595)

Kasey Aldridge, dropped at backward point by Fynn Hudson-Prentice in the previous over. has ridden his luck a little this morning and it has just run out.

Wafting a loose drive at a Jayden Seales delivery that swings away from his bat he has offered the easiest grab behind the stumps for the Sussex skipper.

  5. Postpublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hants 72-3 - target 377

Matt Fisher is in the attack and he has a good LBW shout against Fletcha Middleton, striking on the knee roll in front of middle and leg.

It's given not out and that ball may have moved past leg stump. Definitely moved off the seam.

Middleton gets a single next ball and Nick Gubbins keeps the strike with a drive down the ground off the last ball for one.

  6. Postpublished at 11:47 British Summer Time 14 April

Warwickshire 48-1, target 339 to beat Durham

Big appeal from Brendan Doggett who is first change for Durham at the Riverside.

Hamza Shaikh is pinned on his crease but the finger doesn't go up, much to Ollie Robinson's consternation behind the stumps.

Shaikh cashes in with a glorious extra cover drive to the rope to finish the over.

Alex Davies playing very nicely for his 34* from 48 balls at the other end.

They're not exactly chasing, but they are in touch with the required run-rate, which is 3.4 at present.

    Notts 257-8 & 347 (lead by 237 runs) v Essex 367

Brett Hutton battingImage source, Rex Features

Brett Hutton has looked more than capable since replacing Fergus O'Neill at the wicket, producing a couple of technically correct hits to move to seven.

The hosts need to keep batting here though with plenty of overs left in this match. If they were to lose the final two wickets now, Essex would need less than three an over to chase down victory.

  8. Postpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 14 April

    Lancs 228 & 160-3 f/o v Northants 496

Nothing streaky about this shot from Marcus Harris, leaning into an extra cover drive off Raphy Weatherall for four.

The pitch remains near perfect for batting and the gap is down to 108.

  9. Postpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hants 69-3 - target 377

Four more runs to Nick Gubbins, flicking an angled ball from Kemar Roach through mid wicket on the back foot.

He picks up four more off Dan Worrall in the next over, going back to glance the ball behind square leg.

Surrey bring Dan Lawrence on to bowl some off spin.

  10. Postpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 14 April

    Lancs 228 & 154-3 f/o v Northants 496

Josh Bohannon battingImage source, Rex Features

Lancashire reach the 150-mark with a single to Josh Bohannon turned into the leg side off the bowling of Raphy Weatherall.

Marcus Harris gets off the mark with a slightly streaky shot, edging a loose defensive shot low and just out of reach of Ricardo Vasconcelos at first slip or four.

  11. DERBYSHIRE REQUIRE 449 FOR VICTORY AT LEICESTERSHIREpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 14 April

    Leicestershire 357-9d - lead Derbyshire by 448

Leicestershire have declared after some late fireworks.

Ben Mike cracked five fours and two sixes in his 38* from 26 balls and added 55 for this last Foxes wicket with Tom Scriven who made a run-a-ball 20.

The lead is 448, but have they left enough time to claim 10 wickets?

Derbyshire need 5.22 an over... but we have seen 1,234 runs in this game so far... you never know.

  12. 'It would be a good result for Sussex'published at 11:39 British Summer Time 14 April

    Somerset 149-5 - target 595

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It will be a good result for Sussex if they can seal the deal.

The runs are irrelevant, it's whether Somerset can bat the rest of the day, or Sussex can get the wickets.

There's no need for off-side protection today as they have plenty of runs to play with.

Jayden Seales will probably have a lot of work to do today, Sussex will have the new ball available at some point today.

  13. Postpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hants 57-3 - target 377

Nick Gubbins is settling in nicely this morning.

He's forward and across to a length ball from Dan Worrall, driving down the ground for his second four of his innings.

Worrall tightens his line and Gubbins leaves the ball just outside off.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 14 April

    Phillip b Harrison 10 (Lancs 228 & 149-3 f/o v Northants 496)

Raphy Weatherall is in the attack for the first time today and his second ball is short and hammered through point off the back foot by Josh Bohannon for four.

But Calvin Harrison strikes in the next over!

Lovely flight, dip and a hint of turn on this ball as it pitches on middle and strikes the top of off stump.

Anderson Phillip goes after soaking up 54 balls for 10.

    Marcus Harris is in next.

  15. Division Two updatepublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 14 April

Glamorgan 122-3 - trail Gloucestershire by 40 runs

Three wickets in 13 balls have Gloucestershire dreaming of victory.

Matt Taylor dismisses Zain ul Hassan in the same fashion as his fellow opener Eddie Byrom, caught by Cam Bancroft in the slips, for 55 and then Ajeet Singh Dale collects the prized scalp of Sam Northeast for 10.

Kiran Carlson and first innings centurion Colin Ingram are fresh at the crease with their side still 40 runs in arrears.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 80.5 overs

    O'Neill c Thain b Porter 1 (Notts 242-8 & 347, lead 222 runs)

What a catch that was... as the second new ball delivers a breakthrough in its second over.

Fergus O'Neill has clipped off his legs right out of the screws but Noah Thain, fielding 20 yards from the bat at midwicket, has dived right to his right and taken a belter.

This has been a good start for Essex who have three in the first half hour and it is not the worst in terms of getting a result out of this game whichever way it goes.

Notts getting bowled out and setting a target early enough might help all sides.

  17. Postpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hants 50-3 - target 377

Nick Gubbins is carefully forward to Dan Worrall, blocking the bowler into the off side.

12 runs added so far this morning.

Kemar Roach drifts into the pads of Fletcha Middleton on a length and this ball is nudged to leg for a single.

Nick Gubbins takes Hampshire to 50 with a glance to square leg off the same bowler.

  18. Postpublished at 11:25 British Summer Time 14 April

Warwickshire 26-1, target 339 to beat Durham

Hamza Shaikh so close to a pair.

Alex Davies calls for a single but then turns back, leaving Shaikh scrambling to make his ground as Alex Lees comes up with a direct hit from mid-wicket. Not much in it but he might just have been back in the crease. Either way he survives.

Davies rubs salt into the wound with a lovely cover drive off Matty Potts.

  19. dropped catch

Abell dropped on 61published at 38 overs

    Somerset 131-5 & 201 (target 595) v Sussex 294 & 501-7d

A difficult chance off the bowling of Jayden Seales but a chance nonetheless, Tom Clark diving low to his left at second slip, getting a hand to it but unable to hold on.

Abell gets a life there and a four for his luck as the ball squirts through the cordon and down to the third man boundary. Seales, who is bowling with a bit of vim this morning, misses out on a second of the morning.

  20. Postpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 14 April

    Lancs 228 & 138-2 f/o v Northants 496

Anderson Phillip is off the mark after 44 deliveries with four runs but it's not a convincing shot.

He tries to glance a Liam Guthrie bumper leg side and the ball flies off a leading edge to deep third.
