  1. Postpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 125-7 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

Ben Cox drives off side for one first ball after the break.

Ben Green is on his toes to dab the ball through cover for one more.

That was more off the shoulder of the bat but they all count.

Short from Singh-Dale and hammered through cover by Cox for another single as the ball is blocked at deep cover.

    We'll get 'em in singles.

Ben Green keeps the strike with a nudge to leg for a single.

  2. 6 runs

Postpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 27 April

    Derbys 472 v Middx 314-9

Consecutive sixes from Jack Davies, the second of which Luis Reece makes a valiant attempt to take just inside the rope only to carry the ball over at long off.

Middx need 323 to take the follow-on off the table. Another nine runs.

  3. Final passage of play begins at Bristolpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 121-7 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

Well, it ought to be. The bell tolls to mark the imminent resumption of play and the umpires are back in the middle.

Gloucestershire need three wickets for a first win at Bristol since 2022.

Leicestershire need 22 runs. Here come the Bens.

Ben Cox is 41 not out and he'll face Ajeet Singh-Dale.

Ben Green has three not out at the non-striker's end.

  4. 300 runs

300 up for Middlesexpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 27 April

    Derbys 472 v Middx 300-9

A second batting point for the visitors but of more concern will be the 23 needed to avoid the follow-on.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 27 April

    Roland-Jones c Jewell b Chappell 2 (Derbys 472 v Middx 299-9)

A third and final bowling point for Derbys but Toby Roland-Jones might not be too proud of his part in it given the circumstances.

Zak Chappell has hung that short and wide outside off stump and the Middlesex captain has a mighty whoosh at it and edges it to first slip.

Caleb Jewell has plenty of time to line that up and takes the catch chest high falling gently backwards.

Not the brightest shot given his side are still short of the follow-on target.

  7. Tea at Bristolpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 121-7 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

The nerviest meal in the history of sport awaits...

Three wickets to win it, or 22 runs.

Ben Cox is unbeaten on 41, having made a gutsy 50 last night to help his side into the slender lead which looks like it might be so pivotal.

He did that having earlier retired hurt after a nasty blow to the chest which saw him sent for scans.

  8. 'It's a comprehensive win'published at 16:19 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 367 & 36-2 v Somerset 283 & 119 - Surrey win by 8 wickets

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Jamie Smith whips it through mid-wicket to the boundary rope to win it for Surrey.

It's a comprehensive victory for Surrey, it all happened after lunch.

They have their first victory of the summer.

  9. SURREY BEAT SOMERSET BY EIGHT WICKETSpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 36-2 - target 36

Rory Burns cuts to extra cover for one. Single to Jamie Smith to cover.

Kasey Aldridge to bowl now. The first ball is leg side and missed by Jamie Smith.

There it is! Clipped leg side by Jamie Smith through mid wicket for four runs!

A 12 not out for Smith to cherish. Burns ends on 20 not out.

Surrey pick up their first Championship win of the season and this game has been an epic.

Don't be fooled by the scorecard. Somerset battled hard throughout days one and two and had a chance to keep Surrey to a modest lead this morning.

But a gap of 84 runs on first innings plus a fraught passage of play after lunch where Surrey took 4-8 took the game away from Somerset.

Eight wickets in the match for Jordan Clark. Fine 50s in contrasting styles from Rory Burns, Jamie Smith and Dom Sibley and absolutely outstanding keeping from Ben Foakes.

Surrey were excellent in the field today with a bunch of catches all worthy of a champagne moment.

Somerset remain in the bottom half of the table with a tough game at home v Essex to come while Surrey climb to mid table and travel to Birmingham after a week off to face Warwickshire.

  10. Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 121-7 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

Zaman Akhter sends down which should be the final over before tea - though whether that is the case will only be known shortly.

22 runs needed, three wickets needed.

    Cor.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 27 April

    Zafar c Guest b Chappell 10 (Derbys 472 v Middx 291-8)

Good catch down the leg side by Brooke Guest but a poor execution from Zafar Gohar. Zak Chappell now has 3-38.

Middlesex are still 32 away from avoiding the follow-on with just two wickets still up.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 27 April

van Beek b Singh Dale 11 (Leicestershire 118-7 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire)

    The 18-run stand is broken.

Ajeet Singh Dale gets one to stay a bit low on Logan van Beek who is back in his crease but can't get the bat down to prevent his stumps being rattled.

Ben Green joins Ben Cox who feels key to this result.

He is 41* - his side need 25, the hosts need three wickets.

  13. Postpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 117-6 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

    26 needed.

Ben Cox has 40* and is rotating the strike nicely while Ajeet Singh and Zama Akhter are firing in yorkers trying to deceive him and Logan van Beek.

  14. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 30-2 - target 36

Jamie Smith is down the track to Josh Davey, driving for three.

    Good fielding from Jack Leach.

    Three needed.

  15. Postpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 27-2 - target 36

No doubt about that LBW. Struck in front of middle below the knee missing a glance to leg.

Jamie Smith drives Josh Davey and gets a thick edge to deep third for four runs.

    Six to win.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 27 April

    Pope LBW b Davey 1 (Surrey 23-2 - target 36)

A bit of luck for Rory Burns on 18, who fences and edges over the two slips for one.

In fact Lewis Gregory had a hand to that at first slip.

But now Ollie Pope has gone!

    Pinned LBW by Josh Davey.

    Now Jamie Smith will bat.

  17. Back under way at Derbypublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 27 April

    Derbys 472 v Middx 291-7

Jack Morley has the ball in hand and is taking aim at Middx batsman Jack Davies to get the final session up and running. A bit of a loose one is despatched for four in the second ball. And another with his final delivery is cut for a second boundary.

  18. Postpublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 113-6 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

Ben Cox nicks a single down the leg side off Ajeet Singh Dale and Logan van Beek finally produces a convincing stroke as he drives a full ball outside off through the covers for four.

He then guides the penultimate ball of the over down to third for another single to move to eight.

30 to win. Or four wickets.

  19. Postpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 27 April

    Surrey 22-1 - target 36

Single to Ollie Pope first ball with a glance to leg.

Rory Burns drives Kasey Aldridge and the ball is stopped by Jack Leach at mid on.

The fifth ball is driven down the ground by Burns for three.

He now has 18 off 18 balls.

  20. Postpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 27 April

Leicestershire 107-6 - target 143 to beat Gloucestershire

Zaman Akhter comes back to replace Dom Goodman and draws an almighty swing and a miss from Logan van Beek who was trying to take the cover off the ball with that slash.

He eventually nudges a single to square leg, bringing the more assured Ben Cox back onto strike, with a thick inside edge allowing him another single to move to 38*.

van Beek finishes the over with another air-shot outside off.

    36 required. Or four wickets.
