  1. Afg 63-1published at 11 overs

Afghanistan are very busy between the wickets. There's only one dot ball in the over.

Surely Steve Smith will take Spencer Johnson out of the attack soon? His figures aren't horrendous - 1-37 from six overs - but he's been very loose.

  2. Afg 58-1published at 10.1 overs

    Dear, oh dear.

It's another slightly wild delivery from Spencer Johnson and Sediqullah Atal laps up the four.

Advantage Afghanistan. The powerplay has been a story of woe for the bowling stocks of Australia.

Johnson is all over the shop.

  4. Afg 54-1published at 10 overs

    Ibrahim 15, Sediqullah 22

Afghanistan will be the happier of the two sides after 10 overs.

After losing Rahmanullah Gurbaz off the fifth delivery of the match, Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal have slowly built a good partnership.

For Australia, there have been too many extras and too many loose deliveries.

Nathan Ellis not getting it right in this over. Another slower ball, I'm not sure on the thinking behind it.

  6. Afg 49-1published at 9.1 overs

Nathan Ellis starts with a wide...

  7. Afg 48-1published at 9 overs

Spencer Johnson is still yet to calibrate his radar.

Another wide and a real freebie of a boundary gifted to Afghanistan.

    Nathan Ellis replaces Ben Dwarshuis.

This is the problem that's plagued Spencer Johnson.

He bowled some cracking deliveries and then the next ball comes out of nowhere. Ill-directed down the leg-side and it's an easy tuck away for someone like Sediqullah Atal.

  9. Afg 47-1published at 8.3 overs

That ball absolutely raced across the outfield!

It's a poor delivery from Spencer Johnson and Sediqullah Atal tucks it away for four. He now has 20 from 33 balls.

Afghanistan have batted pretty well, they've not always looked convincing, but that's sometimes the game of batting.

Australia, starting to feel the pressure a little bit.

  11. Afg 41-1published at 8 overs

Ibrahim Zadran joins the boundary party early in the eighth. It's not the prettiest shot he'll play today but it goes for four through point.

Afghanistan's second-wicket pair are beginning to click into gear.

There's something to build upon for Afghanistan.

It has not been easy for these two batters, but they're weathering the storm.

  14. Afg 33-1published at 7 overs

A confident over from Sediqullah Atal. When he's driving, he's in command.

Nine runs for Afghanistan off Spencer Johnson. And one more wide to the extra count.

Untidy from a Spencer Johnson. Trying too much with the ball.

It's a glorious shot and Sediqullah Atal is reading the mind of Spencer Johnson.

  16. Afg 30-1published at 6.3 overs

Sediqullah Atal will feel better after that shot.

He hammers Spencer Johnson through the covers for four. That's the first boundary off the bat for Afghanistan.

  17. Afg 24-1published at 6 overs

Sediqullah Atal is playing a skittish innings. He narrowly survives after playing a dangerous shot towards Australia's slips and wildly swings and misses a couple of times during Ben Dwarshuis' third over. He has six runs off 25 balls.

It's far too early for him to panic, however. After all, Afghanistan had a very quiet powerplay against England on Wednesday before exploding into life in the final 10 overs. Patience is required.

Not a great shot from Sediqullah Atal. Frustration from the batsmen there. He's feeling pinned down. Six off 25 balls.

  19. Afg 24-1published at 5.4 overs

    A lifeline for Sediqullah Atal!

He edges Ben Dwarshuis towards Australia's three-man slip cordon but the ball dies just short of Glenn Maxwell. The Afghanistan batter is looking a little nervous early in his innings.

Australia have not been as consistent as they would have liked.

As this ball starts to do less you would like the ball to be a lot fuller and get Sediqullah Atal playing these deliveries.
