  1. Postpublished at 13:41 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 135-1

Josh Thomas drives Noah Thain to cover and some sharp fielding from Ben Alison keeps it to just one run.

Single to Tom Lammonby and Thomas survives an LBW shout.

    A bit leg side.

The fifth ball is also leg side and glanced fine for four.

One more run nudged to square leg going forward. He's on 82.

    Allison lbw b Unadkat 0 (Worcs 111-9 v Sussex)

This is just coming back enough to get the finger.

Jaydev Unadkat spears one leg side which Ben Allison looks to turn off his pads but it straightens just enough to hit his pad and get the verdict.

  4. Postpublished at 13:38 BST 24 September

    Northants v Leics 164-4

Saif Zaib is in the attack now, bowling his left arm spin - and Jonny Tattersall sweeps fine for a couple.

He's well forward to the next ball but only makes contact with the front pad.

Two more runs nudged to fine leg.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:35 BST 24 September

    Taylor c Carter b Unadkat 9 (Worcs 111-8 v Sussex)

A big leading edge and a steepler that Oli Carter takes comfortably at the walk at midwicket.

Jaydev Unadkat has three now and is threatening to do to Worcs what Ollie Robinson did to them before lunch.

Notts v Warwicks 70-1 - rain stops play

Got to say I'm really enjoying the live coverage of a floodlight against a very grey sky in Nottinghamshire. Lots of September 2005 at the Oval vibes.

Still off at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:35 BST 24 September

    Notts v Warwicks 70-1

Not such a short delay this time.

We have had no play here since lunch and the skies remain a dull grey.

  8. Postpublished at 13:34 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 128-1

Josh Thomas has been a bit becalmed after a bright start this morning.

He's well forward to Jamie Porter, blocking off side to see out the over.

Tom Lammonby glances the third ball leg side for a single and Thomas tries to force the ball away off side. No run this time.

  9. Postpublished at 13:28 BST 24 September

    Northants v Leics 151-4

Wayward from Justin Broad, who bowls full and wide to Stephen Eskinazi, conceding four via a flashing cover drive.

The next ball is leg side and clipped fine for four more.

A single off the third ball and Jonny Tattersall gets a four of his own, glanced to fine leg.

That brings up the innings 150 in 35 overs.

50s for du Plooy & Hollmanpublished at 13:26 BST 24 September

    Middlesex 154-2 v Glos

Leus du Plooy and Luke Hollman have both reached half-centuries for the hosts at Lord's.

Their partnership is now worth 120.

Gloucestershire's departing bowler Ajeet Singh Dale is the only one of the away side's attack to get any joy so far, with both of the home wickets to fall.

  11. Postpublished at 13:25 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 124-1

Hazy sunshine at Chelmsford as Noah Thain bowls round the wicket to Tom Lammonby.

The left-hander taps the ball leg side for one.

Josh Thomas plays around a ball which strikes him on the pad but it's too leg side for the LBW shout and he was well forward.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:24 BST 24 September

    Brookes c Coles b Unadkat 1 (Worcs 91-7 v Sussex)

An airy flash outside off stump in an attempt to drive through the covers and a simple catch edged to second slip where James Coles makes no mistake.

Jaydev Unadkat has a second wicket.

  13. Postpublished at 13:22 BST 24 September

    Northants v Leics 130-4

Two slips in for Justin Broad, who squares Stephen Eskinazi up a little as the batter defends down the ground.

Just a single off that over.

Northants have a lot more control over this innings than they did this morning, when Leicester's openers were scoring close to a run a ball.

  14. Postpublished at 13:19 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 121-1

Not the most convincing of starts for Josh Thomas, who is struck on the pad by a sharply deviating delivery that runs away for four leg byes - followed by a thick outside edge wide of the slips for four.

Tom Lammonby leaves Noah Thain outside the off stump.

The next ball is a genuine play and miss on the drive.

The fifth ball is stroked through cover point for two - and that brings up the 100 partnership for the second wicket pair in 25.1 overs.

    Yorks v Durham 65-3

Jordan Thompson starts the second session for Yorks with a couple of singles the cost.

  16. 'Hampshire in control'published at 13:17 BST 24 September

    Hants v Surrey 83-6

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It's a good bit of bowling from Kyle Abbott.

A cracking length, bringing it back and beating the inside edge.

It's the perfect start after lunch for Hampshire, who are in control of this game.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:16 BST 24 September

    Albert b Abbott 5 (Hants v Surrey 83-6)

And Ralphie Albert's short stay at the post lunch crease is over.

Is he done for pace or does he play down the wrong line? Probably a bit of both and he is gone as Surrey's decline continues.

  18. Back under way at New Roadpublished at 13:15 BST 24 September

    Worcs 91-6 v Sussex

Jaydev Unadkat with the ball and Ethan Brookes on strike.

  19. Back under way at Utilita Bowlpublished at 13:13 BST 24 September

    Hants v Surrey 83-5

Debutant Ralphie Albert on strike and Kyle Abbott with the ball in hand and the first ball goes for four.

  20. Play resumes at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:12 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 111-1

Josh Thomas returns to the crease on 71 to face Doug Bracewell.

He could have been out, caught second slip by Dean Elgar on 55 off a flashing drive. Tough chance.

    Tom Lammonby has 28.
