David Bedingham has a third half-century this season

It has not been the greatest of summers at Durham for David Bedingham but he has brought up his half-century with a late cut off Dom Bess.

It is only the third of his season in the County Championship albeit in only his sixth outing in the domestic competition having been busy with international duty with South Africa in the middle of the campaign.

Having hooked up with Will Rhodes at 51-3 this pair have done really well against what was a warm Yorks attack and they have nudged Durham into a solid position in the hunt for bonus points.

They have slipped a couple more behind Hants who have taken wickets Surrey who they now trail by four.

    Northants v Leics 200-4

Stephen Eskinazi is back and across to Saif Zaib, pushing the left arm spinner through the off side for a single to reach the innings 200 in 48 overs.

The partnership with Jonny Tattersall is now worth 90 with both players nearing 50s.

  4. Postpublished at 14:10 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 150-2

Tom Lammonby is on his toes to whip a short ball from Charlie Bennett leg side for a single to take Somerset to 150 in the 44th over.

  5. Postpublished at 14:09 BST 24 September

    Notts v Warwicks 71-1

Mo Abbas is on at the other end and Will Young pushes defensively into the off side.

Abbas bowls a bit wider and Young shoulders arms.

Mercifully, the thick cloud is lifting above Trent Bridge.

Abbas is getting late swing on the ball, which nearly evades keeper Kyle Verreynne, who parries the ball into the turf.

    Maiden over.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Luis Reecepublished at 14:06 BST 24 September

    Kent v Derbyshire 165-2

Luis Reece flicks one down to fine leg to reach a half-century from 109 balls.

Fellow opener Aneurin Donald also made a 50 earlier in the day but Derbyshire have just lost a second wicket, with Harry Came stumped on 35.

  7. Postpublished at 14:04 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 148-2

Tom Lammonby plays around his front pad but sees out the over.

  8. Afternoon session starts at Trent Bridgepublished at 14:00 BST 24 September

    Notts v Warwicks 70-1

The weather has relented. But the floodlights are on.

Will Young takes guard first. He was almost bowled by a ball that rolled back towards his stumps shortly before lunch but managed to kick the ball away.

He's 37 not out and facing Dillon Pennington.

Rob Yates is 31 not out.

  9. 'Surrey not putting pressure on Notts'published at 14:00 BST 24 September

    Hants v Surrey 115-8

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

This has just got a lot tougher.

Surrey don't look like a side determined to put the pressure on Notts.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:59 BST 24 September

    Lawrence c Gubbins b Fuller 36 (Hants v Surrey 115-8)

Dan Lawrence tries to pull this leg side, gets a leading edge and it flies high to Nick Gubbins at cover.

The fielder sets himself and waits... and waits... as the close fielders look on... and takes the catch.

Lawrence swishes his bat in frustration and Surrey look flat and defeated already.

  11. wicket

WORCS 123 ALL OUTpublished at 13:55 BST 24 September

    Waite lbw b Robinson

Done him in the flight with what looked a slightly slower ball. Matthew Waite is through the shot and rapped in front.

That is that on a miserable Worcs innings with few highlights batting wise. Ollie Robinson takes 6-68 and Jaydev Unadkat mops up the rest with 4-43.

  12. wicket

Jamie Porter celebrates taking a wicketImage source, Rex Features

Josh Thomas falls just short of 100 in his maiden first-class innings, bowled on the drive from the crease by Jamie Porter.

A round of applause from the crowd nonetheless and rightly so after a very promising innings.

James Rew is in at four for Somerset.

  15. 'Dawson makes breakthrough'published at 13:50 BST 24 September

    Hants v Surrey 109-7

    Amelia Clark
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's struck back to Liam Dawson and he takes a straightforward catch.

Not much of a celebration from Dawson, but he makes the breakthrough.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:50 BST 24 September

    Lawes c & b Dawson 12 (Hants v Surrey 109-7)

Dan Lawrence and Tom Lawes had been building nicely but, in trying to force it through the on side, the latter has just dinked that back to Liam Dawson who takes an easy caught and bowled.

The pair had added 26 which was some way short of the towering 32 added by Lawrence and Ollie Sykes for the fifth wicket but it was growing nicely until that.

  17. Postpublished at 13:48 BST 24 September

    Northants v Leics 160-4

Leicestershire have rallied since the wobble to 110-4 just before lunch.

The 50 partnership for the fifth wicket arrived in the 37th over off 67 balls via a thick outside edge from Stephen Eskinazi, sending the ball wide of the slips for four off Justin Broad.

  18. Division Two updatepublished at 13:47 BST 24 September

Ajeet Singh Dale has taken two quick wickets for Glos to leave Middlesex 167-4.

He dismissed Luke Hollman for 58 and pinned Ryan Higgins lbw first ball. Singh Dale has taken all four Middlesex wickets to fall.

Not a lot for Kent fans to smile about with just the one breakthrough against Derbyshire who are now 151-1 as Luis Reece approaches 50.

Glamorgan have just lost Chris Cooke, who made 37, to fall to 147-7 against Lancashire, with Tom Bailey grabbing his third wicket.

  20. Postpublished at 13:45 BST 24 September

    Essex v Somerset 135-1

Frustration for Essex and Jamie Porter.

He's hit on the pad next ball, shuffling across his stumps.

    Maiden over.
