    Warks 350-5 v Sussex 528

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

It's a good start to the season from Dan Mousley.

He's made Sussex suffer a bit since he was dropped on nought but that's the key for the batter, to be able to take advantage of that, and that's what he's done.

  4. 350 up for Warwickshirepublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 350-5 v Sussex 528

    Hants 1-0 - target 148

One way or another this one is going to finish today.

Mark Stoneman and Fletcha Middleton come out to open for Hampshire with a modest target in their sights.

Do Yorkshire have a bowling hero hero in their ranks to shake things up a bit?

Stoneman tucks Ben Coad's opening delivery away for a single.

  7. 'Lyth's innings has given Yorkshire a chance'published at 14:13 British Summer Time 6 April

    Hampshire 249 v Yorkshire 121 & 275

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Adam Lyth went for the big one but it didn't come off and a steepling catch there from Kyle Abbott, having to watch it and watch it into the hands.

He has almost too much time but he held on.

It's been a wonderful innings and it's given Yorkshire a chance.

  8. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 6 April

    Middx 260 & 98-3 v Lancs 359

Back to back boundaries for Ryan Higgins off Will Williams relieve a bit of the pressure for Middlesex.

Tom Bailey has bowled an excellent post-lunch spell so far but a boundary for Max Holden takes him to 46 not out.

The home side are now just one run behind.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 6 April

    O'Neill lbw b Potts 0 (Notts 437-8 v Durham 378)

    Two wickets in two balls.

Matthew Potts is getting some real pace from a placid pitch and is too quick for Fergus O'Neill.

It thuds into his back pad. Easy decision for the umpire

Josh Tongue easily sees off the hat-trick ball.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 6 April

A first maximum of the innings.

    Derbys 391 v Gloucs 222 & 221-7

Gloucestershire have almsot equalled their first-innings total but they have now lost another wicket with Zaman Akhter leg-before to David Lloyd on the back foot for 11.

Matt Taylor joins Tom Price and the visitors lead by just 51 runs.

  12. wicket

    He's out this time!

He was dropped without scoring and now sends a Jayden Seales delivery to the boundary to bring up a half century.

It's the 12th first-class 50 of Dan Mousley's career but he's yet to turn one of those into a century.

  14. Postpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 437-6 v Durham 378

There's a lengthy delay to fetch some protection for Emilio Gay who moves to short leg as Durham try something different to make a breakthrough.

Gay immediately claims a catch off the bowling of Paul Coughlin and the visitors celebrate. But the ball must have popped up off Matt Montgomery's hip.

The Notts batter gets his own back for the chicanery next ball as he guides Coughlin down to third man for his 11th four. He goes to 75.

    The lead is 59.

  15. 200 runs

200 up for Surreypublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 204-6

Noah Thain gets a bowl for Essex and there's a loud shout for LBW but it's an inside edge onto his pads from Jordan Clark and they take a single to bring up the 200.

Ben Foakes drives the next one to the long-off rope.

  16. Postpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 199-6

Ben Foakes is stepping down the wicket to Simon Harmer - he does not want to let the South African dictate things.

Four dot balls are followed by Foakes driving nicely to the point boundary.

He is such a reliable middle-order batter for Surrey and he knows the weight of run scoring will have to come from him now.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 6 April

    Lyth c Abbott b Hampton 106 (Hants 249 v Yorks 121 & 275)

Adam Lyth was the last Yorkshire batter to carry his bat through an entire all-out innings - in 2012 - but he's not going to repeat it today.

He tries to loft Brett Hampton away over mid-on but gets underneath it and Kyle Abbott bides his time while gravity does its stuff before safely pouching the catch.

So Hampshire will need 148 to follow last summer's second-place finish with a start-up victory.

  18. Division Two updatepublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 6 April

Leicestershire break through at the start of the afternoon session in Cardiff with Ben Kellaway lbw to Chris Wright for three. Glamorgan are 46-5, 152 behind and seemingly heading for defeat.

No wickets yet at Lord's and Derby where Middlesex and Gloucestershire are 86-3 and 212-6 respectively against Lancashire and Derbyshire.

  19. Postpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 6 April

    Somerset 670-7 dec v Worcs 154 & 84-2

Show of aggression here from Ethan Brookes as he takes a couple of steps down the pitch and plops Jack Leach back over his head for four.

Two balls later he gives himself a little room and cuts through point for a second boundary of the over. Just a small gap but it raced to the rope.

Brookes accelerates past his partner to reach 32 off 45 balls.

  20. Postpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 324-5 v Sussex 528

A huge LBW appeal as Ollie Robinson swings one back into the pads of Dan Mousley.

It looks close but possibly just doing a little too much.

Sussex need a wicket with this new ball.
