    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 263-7

Ben Foakes has quietly got himself to 51 against his former club.

He has not changed his approach while watching wickets fall or during that excellent 65-run partnership with Jordan Clark.

  2. Division Two updatepublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 6 April

Kiran Carlson has reached 50 for Glamorgan, who are 101-6 in their second innings against Leicestershire, still 94 behind.

Max Holden continues to hold Middlesex together at lord's - he is 63 not out in their 129-4 against Lancashire, giving them a 30-run lead.

  3. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 132.4 overs

    Notts 487-8 v Durham 378

It's been a familiar feature in this innings.

Ben Raine swings one down the legside and past Ollie Robinson's despairing dive all the way to the rope.

It takes the ninth-wicket stand to 50, with Josh Tongue contributing 34 of them, off just 61 balls.

The fifth half-century stand of this innings.

  4. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 258-7

Oooh nearly a fourth wicket for Simon Harmer.

Matthew Fisher gets an edge but it flies just out of the reach of Jordan Cox at slip.

It's one of those where you might throw up a hand and it sticks but Cox gets nothing on it.

  5. Postpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 414-6 v Sussex 528

This is Kai Smith's maiden first-class innings and he has played some attractive shots to get to 21 from 17 balls.

Warwickshire have just under 10 overs to get another 36 runs for maximum batting points.

  6. Postpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 6 April

    Somerset 670-7 dec v Worcs 154 & 140-4

All gone a little quiet at Taunton as Somerset continue to work hard for their wickets.

Jack Leach is given a breather as Archie Vaughan comes on for a third over.

Adam Hose reaches a ball wide of off stump and sweeps for one. Tidy over.

No joy as yet for Kasey Aldridge at the River End.

  7. dropped catch

Yorkshire can't afford those sort of lapses.

Mark Stoneman clips George Hill to square leg but the chance is floored.

When you're the fielder in that situation, you just want the ground to swallow you up.

  8. 'Clark has played well but he'll be disappointed'published at 14:59 British Summer Time 6 April

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 254-7

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

That one did keep a little low on Jordan Clark. He's played very nicely but I think with that one he tried to get forward but it's just nipping back and keeping low on him and there's not a great deal he can do about that.

A good innings but he'll be disappointed there but Essex will be delighted with that. They've got their breakthrough after lunch.

It was good bowling from Sam Cook and we've said all day that it's all about stump to stump, wicket to wicket this and this is exactly what Cook has done there.

I didn't think Surrey would be seven down by this point and that's all credit to the Essex bowlers for getting it in the right place.

400 up for Warwickshirepublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warks 405-6 v Sussex 528

A fourth batting bonus point for the home side as Kai Smith sends Jack Carson over the long-on fence.

They have dug themselves out of a bit of a hole from 251-5 this morning.

  10. Nottinghamshire lead passes 100published at 14:56 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 482-8 v Durham 378

Josh Tongue continues on his merry way, edging George Drissell down to the third man boundary for another four.

Two balls later, he finds the gap again with a push against the spin which flies through the covers to the short boundary.

It takes Nottinghamshire's lead into three figures.

Another crack through the covers, another four ends Drissell's over with a third boundary. Tongue is up to 33 off 42 balls.

Brilliant by Luis Reece, who has Ajeet Singh Dale leg-before and takes 10 wickets in a match for the first time in his career.

Dale's dismissal gives him 4-45 to go with 6-52 in Gloucestershire's first innings.

Derbyshire will need 91 to match last season's Championship wins total of one.

Luis Reece is having quite the match - with the ball at least.

Matt Taylor edges to second slip and we are down to Gloucestershire's last-wicket pair.

Nine in the match now for left-armer Reece and the visitors are 86 ahead.

  17. Postpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 469-8 v Durham 378

Josh Tongue shows he can wield a bat as he finds the gap and threads George Drissell to the short onside boundary.

Next over, Ben Raine sends down a short ball and the Notts number 10 pulls it through midwicket for his fourth boundary.

Raine strikes Tongue's pad with the final ball of his 30th over, but the shout is short-lived. Not out.

He's up to 21 and the ninth wicket is worth 32 and counting.

The first bowling change by Yorkshire as George Hill replaces Jack White.

Mark Stoneman pushes him away for two and then thinks about pinching a single, but discretion is the better part of valour.

The next one from Hill is a cracker which leaves Stoneman late off the pitch but just misses the outside edge.

Good start by the Tykes all-rounder.

    Got him!

Jordan Clark misses a full, straight delivery from Sam Cook and has to go.

He has played very well but Surrey are back in trouble.

Matthew Fisher is in to join Ben Foakes.

Well, after all the drama of this morning, it's all settled down here a bit, or has it?

This new ball has not seemingly done a great deal.
