That's another batting point in the bag.

    Lancs v Northants 397-6

Sensible batting from Northants, finding the gaps to take five singles off an over from John Turner.

Er, bit of an unusual gap in play as Josh Bohannon appears to be putting keeper pads on and trying to pull his trousers over the top.

    I'm not making this up.

Play resumes and Justin Broad sweeps Tom Hartley past Bohannon and through deep square leg for four.

Bohannon is at leg slip with a multiplicity of pads and head gear.

Four more past Anderson Phillip at square leg.

No leg slip any more. Bohannon is saving the single instead.

Brendan Doggett's first innings for Durham last just two deliveries as he tries to clip Taz Ali away to leg but plays down the wrong line and is leg-before.

A good effort by the Warwickshire spinner, who finishes with figures of 4-66 from 20.5 overs) - and they will be very happy to have kept the home side's total below 400.

    Yorks 456 v Worcs 11-0

Worcestershire put up a superb rearguard batting display to salvage a draw against Somerset last weekend.

They don't have such a big first-innings total to contend with this time, but it's still a sizeable one by Yorkshire, so how will they fare in reply.

A tidy opening over from Ben Coad costs just three runs but Gareth Roderick finds the boundary off Jack White in the next, via a thick edge.

  9. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 12 April

    Lancs v Northants 385-6

John Turner is in the attack for the first time today and bowls a tight off stump line to start with a maiden over.

Tom Hartley comes on for a stint of left arm spin at the other end and Justin Broad sweeps fine for a couple.

15 more needed for a fourth batting point.

  10. Potts leading the Durham chargepublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 12 April

    Durham 385-8 v Warwickshire.

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

We've had 105 overs and time is running out for a fourth batting point for Durham, but that's not worrying Matthew Potts.

He's just pulled Michael Booth into the car park for six and followed that up next ball with a four. He now has 69.

Durham have lost the services of Ben McKinney this morning. He was caught behind, down the legside by young keeper Kai Smith, off the bowling of Ethan Bamber, when on 153.

He and Potts added 120 for the eighth wicket and took Durham to a third batting point.

A beauty from Matt Fisher as he gets Mark Stoneman to play and miss outside the off stump.

Three slips in and another play and miss. Late swing, back of a length.

Stoneman tries to cut a wider ball from the crease and misses.

Surrey are really piling the pressure on.

    Durham 383-8 v Warwicks

Michael Booth drops short and Matthew Potts has plenty of time to swivel and pull it away over square leg for six.

Booth doesn't learn the lesson and Potts repeats the shot, this time for four, before taking a single to cover and moving to 69 not out.

  14. NOTTS ALL OUT FOR 347published at 11:35 British Summer Time 12 April

Sam Cook appealsImage source, Rex Features

Sam Cook bowls number 11 Dillon Pennington to bring the Notts innings to an end - three runs short of 350 and a third batting point.

Cook has taken both of the remaining Notts wickets this morning and finishes with figures of 4-44.

Kyle Verreynne can hold his head up high after finishing unbeaten on 128 from 242 balls.

A great knock from him but he's run out of batting partners unfortunately.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Lewis McManuspublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 12 April

    Lancs v Northants 378-6

Lancashire have put the squeeze on for much of this morning but Lewis McManus has battled through to a deserved 50 with a pull in front of square off Anderson Phillip for four runs.

His 15th career 50 and his sixth for Northants.

    97 balls with eight fours.

  16. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey 253 v Hants 68-1

We have a bowling change and Matt Fisher is coming on for Dan Worrall at the other end.

He settles into a line just outside the off peg and Mark Stoneman leaves the ball.

Fisher is round the wicket and Stoneman blocks into the covers.

Battling is hard work at present here. Maiden over.

Following the loss of overnight partner Ben Coad, it was always likely to Jordan Thompson would 'go down in flames' in the search for quick runs.

He pulls a short ball from Ben Allison and substitute fielder Rob Jones takes a brilliant, juggling catch at deep backward square to bring the Yorkshire first innings to an end.

Thompson's 70 took him only 58 balls and featured four sixes and six fours.

    #bbccricket

Kent's Harry Finch brought up his half-century from 68 balls, 10 of those finding the fence, but was pinned infront by Ryan Higgins who has 3-33 and back-to-back wicket maidens.

Jas Singh and debutant Kashif Ali are trying to close the 33-run deficit to Middlesex with just two Kent wickets remaining.

If you're planning to go to Canterbury on Monday, perhaps make alternative plans...

Miles Hammond has passed 50 for Gloucestershire but they have lost Matt Taylor for two. The hosts are 384-4 against Glamorgan at Bristol.

Leicestershire's final wicket stand has reached 60 and ensured maximum batting points. Logan van Beek is 75* and Tom Scriven has 22* as the Foxes are 461-9 against Derbyshire at Grace Road, having been put in, of course.

Sir James AndersonImage source, Rex Features

Ever the professional, the newly knighted Sir James Anderson was out testing his fitness before the start of day two in Lancashire's game against Northants at Old Trafford.

The 42-year-old has said that he doesn't see why he can't carry on playing for another two or three years but a calf problem has prevented him making a contribution for the Red Rose thus far.

We look forward to seeing you in the whites in a few weeks, Sir James.
