  1. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey 253 v Hants 67-1

    Maiden over from Kemar Roach.

Dan Worrall angles one wide of off stump and the left-handed Nick Gubbins lets the ball go.

The second ball is wider still and called wide.

Gubbins is late to block the straighter third ball, which is angled in and squirts safely into the on side.

Still something in this surface for the bowlers.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 23.4 overs

    Aldridge c Simpson b Hunt 4 (Somerset 79-7 v Sussex 294)

Ok there might be a bit of panic now...

It's the same combination again as Sean Hunt takes his second wicket in quick succession with John Simpson taking the catch.

Kasey Aldridge only made four from eight balls and that brings Lewis Gregory to the crease.

Somerset need their skipper to score some runs here.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 21.2 overs

    Lammonby c Simpson b Hunt 24 (Somerset 71-6 v Sussex 294)

Somerset lose their first wicket of the morning and are now six down against Sussex.

Sean Hunt finds the edge of Tom Lammonby's bat and John Simpson takes the catch.

Somerset are in a spot of bother now but they won't panic as they have James Rew out there with Kasey Aldridge, and Lewis Gregory still to come.

  4. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 12 April

    Durham 359-8 v Warwicks

Matthew Potts tries to drive Michael Booth and Kai Smith fails to hang onto the chance as he dives to his right in front of first slip.

Potts is 59 not out and now has Daniel Hogg for company following Ben McKinney's dismissal.

  5. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 12 April

    Lancs v Northants 368-6

Anderson Phillip drops short and Lewis McManus swipes that to long on for a couple to deep mid wicket to advance to 47.

    Consistent bounce and carry here.

Lancashire will be itching to have a bat ASAP.

The last ball is very short and balloons over the head of McManus on the way to keeper Matty Hurst.

  6. 50 runs

for Jordan Thompsonpublished at 99 overs

    Yorks 451-9 v Worcs

Jordan Thompson reaches 50 by slashing Tom Taylor through backward point for four and celebrates two balls later by hoisting the paceman over mid-wicket for a maximum.

What comes next? A ramp over fine leg for another six as the Yorkshire total passes 450.

  7. Postpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey 253 v Hants 65-1

Four runs to Nick Gubbins, driving on the front foot through cover and that shot takes the second wicket partnership with Mark Stoneman to 50 off 87 balls.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 12 April

    McKinney c Davies b Bamber 153 (Durham 354-8 v Warwicks)

That's a disappointing way for a great innings to come to an end.

Ben McKinney tries to glance an innocuous delivery from Ethan Bamber but doesn't get enough wood on it and is caught behind down the leg side by keeper Alex Davies.

McKinney batted for 399 minutes, faced 244 balls and hit two sixes and 20 fours - and his eight-wicket partnership with Matthew Potts added 120 to the Durham total.

  9. Division Two updatepublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 12 April

    #bbccricket

Tame end for Kent's Grant Stewart who chips Ryan Higgins to square leg to depart for 56 and break the useful partnership with Harry Finch.

Kent are 180-7, still 42 runs behind Middlesex.

At Grace Road Leicestershire are down to their final wicket against Derbyshire but only 12 runs shy of maximum batting points with Logan van Beek on 66*.

Miles Hammond is onto 47* for Gloucestershire as they continue to pile on the runs against Glamorgan at Bristol, now 379-3 with a dozen overs remaining to accrue bonus points.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 97.6 overs

    Ahmed c Critchley b 31 Cook (Notts 331-9 v Essex)

    Essex celebrateImage source, Rex Features

    Caught - just!

Matt Critchley almost drops a simple chance at slip but takes it in at the second attempt as Farhan Ahmed departs for 31.

His team-mates were looking on nervously there!

It was almost too simple a catch and early in the day he had to make sure his concentration was spot on.

Dillon Pennington is the last man and he joins Kyle Verreynne who is now on 118 not out.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 97.2 overs

    Coad c Roderick b Allison 31 (Yorks 435-9 v Worcs)

Did Ben Coad let those back-to-back fours off Tom Taylor go to his head?

He goes for a big drive without any foot movement and edges Ben Allison to keeper Gareth Roderick who takes the catch to his right.

Coad put on 75 with Jordan Thompson, who is still there on 49.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 12 April

    Zaib c Hurst b Phillip 116 (Lancs v Northants 363-6)

Saif Zaib is caught behindImage source, Rex Features

Lancashire strike early and the batting hero of Day One has gone.

Saif Zaib looked in fine touch, driving Anderson Phillip neatly through cover for four, but he's out next ball, driving from the crease with bat well away from body and edging to keeper Matty Hurst.

    Justin Broad will bat next.

  13. Postpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    Surrey 253 v Hants 60-1

Dan Worrall will bowl the second over of the day and he has Nick Gubbins playing and missing outside the off stump.

He gets a bat on the next ball though and pushes forward to defend.

There's still movement off the seam here as Worrall nips one back in and that's a very tight leave from Gubbins.

  14. 150 runs

for Ben McKinneypublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    Durham 354-7 v Warwicks

    Did that carry? Maybe not

Ethan Bamber finds the edge of Ben McKinney's bat but the ball eludes the keeper and first slip and runs away for four.

McKinney turns the next one through mid-wicket for a more authentic boundary and goes to 150 from 242 balls faced.

  15. Division Two updatepublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 12 April

    #bbccricket

400 runs and 16 wickets on day one at Canterbury... what does day two have in store?

Kent are 48 runs behind Middlesex's first innings total of 222 after Grant Stewart brings up his half-century with the first runs of the morning off Ryan Higgins, reaching the milestone from exactly 50 balls.

Harry Finch then edges the first ball of the morning from Toby Roland-Jones which Higgins can't gather in the slips.

Double teapot from the veteran bowler.

Stewart then brings up the 100 partnership for this seventh wicket from 109 balls in 78 minutes. Priceless.

  16. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 12 April

    Yorks 435-8 v Worcs

Not the start Worcestershire were hoping for.

Ben Coad strokes Tom Taylor's second delivery through the covers for four and in case anyone missed it, repeats the shot next ball with the same result.

    Coad advances into the 30s.

  17. 100 partnership for Zaib and McManuspublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 12 April

    Lancs v Northants 356-5

Lewis McManus picks up a single off the third ball of the day to mid on and that takes the sixth wicket partnership with centurion Saif Zaib to 100 in 165 balls.

  18. Postpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 12 April

    Yorks 425-8 v Worcs

First order of business for Yorkshire today is to add the 25 runs needed for maximum batting points.

Nine Worcestershire bowlers turned their arms over on Friday - apart from wicketkeeper Gareth Roderick, Adam Hose was the only other player not to send down at least one over.

Which one of them will start proceedings at Headingley today?

Tom Taylor is the answer to that particular question.

  19. Play resumes at Old Traffordpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 12 April

    Lancs v Northants 355-5

The Red Rose county started brightly in this game but were faded in the evening session on a flat, sun baked pitch.

Can they deny Northants further batting points?

Lewis Mcmanus is 40 not out and he will face Tom Bailey to start the day's play.

Saif Zaib in spite of his unbeaten 111 is not hopping about at the other end.

  20. Under way at the Riversidepublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 12 April

    Durham 343-7 v Warwicks

As Martin Emmerson just said, all is set fair at the Riverside.

How many more will Ben McKinney add to his 143 not out? It's the sort of innings which may make England's Zak Crawley sweat a little bit, given his poor start to the season so far.

The young left-hander - number 9 on his back - is on strike and Michael Booth has the ball in his right mitt. Here we go.
