Another fabulous over from Seales. His length has been immaculate.

  2. Eng 46-2published at 11 overs

Jacob Bethell in at four for England - the 21-year-old is almost a veteran in this England line-up with five ODI caps, all in the September series against Australia.

He can't score off the final three balls of the over - a wicket-maiden for Seales.

That ball just held its line as it arrived at the bat, with a little bit of swing on it. An excellent seam position from Jayden Seales which just straightened. Gudakesh Motie had Alzarri Joseph in his peripheral for the catch so has done well.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.3 overs

    Jacks c Motie b Seales 19 (Eng 46-2)

    There goes the other opener!

Jacks departs in a similar fashion to opening partner Salt, skewing Seales' ball up in the air for Gudakesh Motie to take with a juggle at mid-on.

Not the greatest shot, he was trying to play across the line when it wasn't really there, sending a leading edge up in the air.

  6. Eng 46-1published at 10 overs

Alzarri Joseph's first delivery clips Cox's pads on its way through to the ropes at fine leg.

That's the only boundary in the final over of the powerplay, as the England batters add a single each.

The West Indies are on top as the fielders go back.

My suggestions for the Halloween XI: Umar Ghoul, Richa Ghost and Nat Wraith.

Jordan Cox walks out to the middle to start his ODI career - he played two T20 internationals against Australia in September, scoring 17 and 0, and is set to keep for England in the upcoming New Zealand Test series.

He gets under way by running a single through an empty backward point.

Top-class over from Seales. Makes the breakthrough and very nearly gets Cox first ball.

That is athleticism supreme from Alzarri Joseph who has helped out his fast bowling colleague. That's the length to bowl - tell the batter to try to hit off that length.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.1 overs

    Salt c Joseph b Seales 18 (Eng 39-1)

    Salt falls!

The England opener tries to loft Jayden Seales over the fielding ring, but is hurried a little and spoons the ball into the air behind mid-off.

Still, Alzarri Joseph has to do a fair bit of work to take the catch, running back to take an impressive grab.

A first England batter falls, and this powerplay is getting better and better for the West Indies.

The rest of the over goes better for Joseph, just one more Salt single down to third.

Two overs left in the powerplay.

The ball is doing a lot out there. We've seen 1.6 degrees of swing movement from the Windies bowlers - that's the most England have faced in an ODI new ball spell in just over a decade, going back to India at Edgbaston in 2014.

  15. Eng 38-0published at 7.2 overs

A frightful start for Alzarri Joseph, as a shy at Jacks' stumps sees the ball race away for four overthrows.

The England opener takes two to third from the following delivery but Joseph has overstepped so that's a free hit.

Jacks inside edges it to fine leg for a single.

While searching for a cricket-themed Halloween photograph, we came across this. There's a lot to unpack here.

A member of the public comes dressed as a ghost during the first one-day international cricket match between New Zealand and Pakistan at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on January 31, 2015

It was on January 31, not October 31, for starters. Maybe it's a real ghost who just fancied watching the cricket? "Don't mind me..."

The most definitely not undead Phil Salt sees out four dot balls before taking his second four of the over, driving Forde through the covers.

  18. Eng 26-0published at 6.1 overs

That's more like it - Phil Salt guides Forde's opening delivery through backward point for four.

I was beginning to think a zombie version had come out to bat.

Sammy gesturing to Seales to bowl cross seam. They’ve abandoned any thoughts of swing early on here.

  20. Eng 22-0published at 6 overs

Still not much on offer for England as Jayden Seales continues to bowl a tight line.

England book-end his over with singles, with Jacks hurrying through a shot to mid-on and Salt hitting the ball to point.
