    Middx v Derbys 238-8

Zafar Gohar takes a wicketImage source, Rex Features

    Classic slow left-arm dismissal.

Zafar Gohar finds a bit of turn, Zak Chappell pushes forward and Ryan Higgins swoops low to take a good slip catch.

  2. Postpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 34-1

First bowling change for Surrey as Tom Lawes takes over from Dan Worrall at the Vauxhall End after a five-over spell.

Still 26 overs remaining in the day, meaning there could be plenty of twists and turns before stumps in this game which has felt like it's being played at double speed at times.

  3. Postpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 8 September

    Essex v Durham 270-5

Simon Harmer has his head in his hands after a couple of dreamy deliveries slide past the woodwork at the other end.

    Oohs and ahhs all round.

Ben McKinney is stoic on his 119* while Graham Clark has picked up four runs from his first 17 deliveries.

They are trying to prevent Essex from getting a foothold in this game with a flurry of late wickets.

  4. HAMPSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 226published at 16:31 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 226

Keith Barker has a run-a-ball 13 and with all due respect to Eddie Jack, he holds the key for Hampshire's prospects of a batting point.

Jaydev Unadkat returns to the Sussex attack and Barker takes a single to point.

Eddie Jack ducks under the inevitable short ball and is cleaned up by the third ball of the over!

Struck on the pad trying to defend and Hampshire fall 24 short of a batting point.

Condition permitting, 22 overs for Sussex to bat before stumps tonight.

Could be hard work. We have seen a bit of uneven bounce, turn and movement on this pitch so far today.

Par score? Crucial top score of 71 from Hampshire captain Ben Brown regardless - and he was dropped on 18 this afternoon.

  5. 50 runs

for Graeme van Buurenpublished at 73 overs

    Leics v Glos 290-4

Graeme van Buuren pulls a Rishi Patel long hop for four as he and James Bracey post a 100 partnership for Gloucestershire's fifth wicket.

His half-century follows, from 71 balls faced, as Patel gives him room outside off stump to cut to the backward point boundary.

  6. Postpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 31-1

Alex Davies drives straight as a die off Dan Worrall, almost taking a coat of varnish off the stumps at the other end, to pick up his second boundary.

He then adds a third with a classy cover drive to finish the over. He has 22* from 27 balls.

Will Young has one from nine balls at the other end as Warwickshire recover from the early loss of Rob Yates.

They are back out at the home of cricket and Middlesex are striving for their first success of the final session.

No luck yet, though, for Olly Stone and Zafar Gohar.

The inspection is earmarked for 16:50 BST.

  9. Glamorgan pass 300published at 16:23 British Summer Time 8 September

Saif Zaib is into the attack and Asa Tribe is down low to slap an off side ball through cover for a single.

The 300 comes in 77.5 overs and Tribe has scored just over half of them.

    He now has 156.

  10. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 222-9

Stout defence from Eddie Jack into the on side and the hat trick is averted.

Jack edges to third man next ball for one.

Helloo! Keith Barker goes up a gear and mows Jack Carson over square leg for six.

Glad I'm not parked over there...

  11. 'You'd back Bracey to go on from here'published at 16:20 British Summer Time 8 September

    Leics v Glos 277-4

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Sort of unlike Miles Hammond you'd rather back James Bracey to go on from here.

  12. wicket

WICKET Abbott c Robinson b Carson 0published at 16:18 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 215-9

First ball! Jack Carson is on a hat trick!

Kyle Abbott tries to pump the off spinner over wide long on and is caught by Ollie Robinson.

The Hampshire number 11 is Eddie Jack.

  13. 50 runs

for James Braceypublished at 70 overs

    Leics v Glos 277-4

    James BraceyImage source, Getty Images

A repeat of the shot from earlier the over as James Bracey pulls Ben Mike for four and reaches 50 off 92 balls.

Mike fails to heed the lesson, is guilty of a similar delivery next up, with the same result once again.

Final ball of the over, Bracey tries to pull agaim, but this time it isn't short enough for the shot and an under-edge past the keeper for a fourth boundary is an undeserved reward for the Gloucestershire batter.

  14. Postpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 8 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 18-1

Alex Davies gets up on his toes to cut a shorter one from Gus Atkinson away to the deep extra cover boundary. His first four.

Surrey are trying to apply the same pressure the Bears attack managed to find early this afternoon.

  15. Postpublished at 69.1 overs

    Leics v Glos 265-4

This is going to be a test for the Division Tow leaders with Josh Hull out of the attack for the rest of the innings and Rishi Patel providing the only spin option in this game.

Ben Mike drops short at the start of a new over and James Bracey - who was in brilliant form in the One Day Cup - has loads of time to pull to mid-wicket for four. He is 42 not out.

  16. wicket

WICKET Brown c Alsop b Carson 71published at 16:16 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 215-8

    Big wicket. Big. Huge.

Jack Carson gets the prize wicket of in-form captain Ben Brown who plays lofted sweep and chips the ball to Tom Alsop at mid wicket.

    Kyle Abbott is in next.

  17. 150 runs

150 for Asa Tribepublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 8 September

    Northants v Glamorgan 296-5

Nirvan Ramesh bowls short to Asa Tribe, who pulls past Liam Guthrie at mid wicket for four runs - and that takes the young opener to a maiden 150 with 21 fours and two sixes.

221 balls faced and he looks quite immovable.

He's been the bedrock of a dominant first innings from Glamorgan.

Northants are three overs away for the second new ball and they must make the new cherry count.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 8 September

    Robinson c Pepper b Bracewell 15 - Essex v Durham 262-5

Oh no, Ollie Robinson. Strangled down the leg side, Michael Pepper taking the catch and Doug Bracewell has a second Essex wicket.

He doesn't look convinced he hit it, but Robinson has to go.

    That's a big wicket.

Graham Clark joins Ben McKinney, who is 115*. 38 shy of a second batting point.

  19. Postpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 8 September

    Sussex v Hants 213-7

Ben Brown is sweeping almost at will and this time deploys a reverse sweep to get two more runs off Jack Carson.

James Coles continues from the Pavilion End and Keith Barker reverse sweeps past Sean Hunt for four.

This par have added a handy 20 since tea.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 8 September

    Yates c Burns b Worrall 7 - Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 10-1

    Ok, fireworks...

Dan Worrall finds Rob Yates' outside edge, offering a sharp chance to Rory Burns diving forward at third slip, which he takes nicely.

That's a 400th first class wicket for Worrall, and Surrey have an early breakthrough.

Will Young, on debut, is in at three.
