  1. Ind 158-3published at 48 overs

And now Archer gets his own maiden, bowling to KL Rahul.

The England seamer has four scoreless overs from his 13 in this innings.

  2. Ind 158-3published at 47 overs

The thing is, David, it's not necessarily the fault of bowling team. We'll see a lot of drinks run on by the batting team between overs today - and we should say it's another scorcher, and we shouldn't be complacent about hydration.

Anyway, Chris Woakes sends down a maiden to Rishabh Pant.

Regarding the number of overs bowled. Make sure they bowl 15 overs an hour. Each uncompleted over below that will cost the bowling team 25 runs per over. Bowling teams will hustle as necessary to get the overs bowled. And spectators will get value for money! We wouldn't accept a situation at the cinema where they stop the showing 15 minutes before the end.

    David

I’m lucky enough to be watching in the Warner stand today and I notice that Pant appears to be willfully making Archer wait at the top of his run. Umpires?

Slow over rates are spoiling the game. These ridiculous pauses and breaks can be filled with TV replays and TMS chat. But it’s unfair on the paying spectators. Maybe 90 overs is too ambitious but a lower target should be rigorously enforced

We haven't had four overs yet, we've already had a attempt to change the ball and unscheduled visit from one of the Indian players bringing out drinks.

  5. Ind 158-3published at 46 overs

KL Rahul fends off Jofra Archer's second delivery, with the ball flying safely into space at square leg.

A trio of singles to start the over, punctuated by Archer attempting to change the ball, and three dots to close it.

Someone comes on to hand Rishabh Pant a drink at the end of the over.

  6. Ind 155-3published at 45 overs

Chris Woakes resumes at the other end - he had figures of 1-56 from his 13 overs yesterday, taking the key wicket of Shubman Gill with a superb delivery.

He concedes one single here, as Rishabh Pant pushes to mid-wicket.

When is the game going to open up? That's the big question. At some stage we are going to get a period of play where a couple of wickets fall and the game speeds up. But you feel like it won't be today.

  8. Ind 154-3published at 44 overs

Four more for Rishabh Pant, stepping down the pitch and throwing his arms at Archer's delivery to swat the ball over the covers.

He flexes his hand after playing the shot - he spent much of England's innings off the field with a finger injury, but was judged fit to bat.

Still, that brings up India's 150.

  9. Ind 149-3published at 43.1 overs

    Rahul 53, Pant 23

Hmm, after all that, not the most wonderful start from Jofra Archer.

Sliding down the leg side and Rishabh Pant helps the ball on its way to the boundary for four.

And it is Jofra Archer who will get us back under way with the 44th over of India's innings, bowling to Rishabh Pant.

Here's his remarkable first over yesterday.

An England victory the most likely outcome but you wouldn't count India out yet at all.

India opener KL Rahul resumes on 53 and will be hoping to push on to a century and towards first innings parity in the morning session.

He's partnered by Rishabh Pant, who has 19 and pulled out some of his unconventional strokes before close yesterday.

We'll hopefully see a bit more play today, after the two sides managed a rather pitiful 72.3 overs yesterday - 15 short of what was officially expected.

Test Match Special's team have been having their say on improving international cricket's over-rate.

Yes, it's another glorious sunny day at Lord's, and we'll resume on day three of the third Test at Lord's with India on 145-3, still 242 runs behind England after they were bowled out for 387 yesterday.

If you missed day two, take a read of Stephan Shemilt's report to hear how it all played out.

Jofra Archer had three spells yesterday on his return to Test bowling after four years away, taking the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal with his third ball and spending most of his time in the 90mphs.

He'll go again this morning, what a treat.

You've been waiting for something. Four years, perhaps. And finally, it happened.

    What now?

Well, we get to do it again!

    Happy Second Jofra Day, everyone.
