    Yay!

The players are heading back out.

We're going to get going again.

Still no play anywhere else in the country because of rain and also in some places because of high winds which are causing safety issues.

The sunshine returns at The Oval as well.

This might be a brief break.

The groundstaff are back on at The Oval and the covers are coming off.

Bizarrely it was raining when the sky was blue but it's stopped with grey cloud cover.

Jack Haynes leaves one alone and Matt Fisher has it nipping back, just past the off stump.

    Surrey v Notts 100-3

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It's looking gloomier here by the second but lets hope it blows away because the cricket we've had today has been very watchable indeed and engrossing.

The crowd are enjoying what they're seeing.

A wicket maiden for Matt Fisher.

There's the odd spot of rain falling...

  11. 'Surrey have now turned this game around'published at 13:47 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 100-3

    Roland Butcher
Former England batter on BBC Radio Surrey

Matt Fisher does it again and once again Ben Slater cannot convert the start that he's got and really Surrey have now turned this game around in this early part of this second session.

A nice tumbling catch from Ben Foakes but Slater has had that sort of season where he's got to this stage but has just not been able to go on.

A bad loss for Notts because he's been a bit of a mainstay this morning but it's an excellent delivery by Fisher.

Just for the record, Ben Slater's 50 came from 95 balls with five fours.

That's all he'll get as well...

Matt Fisher is the man to find the edge for his second wicket and second since lunch.

    The game is changing.

    Jack Haynes is next in.

Joe Clarke gets a big inside edge down to long leg.

Dan Worrall went wide of the crease and almost got his man with the change of angle.

Ben Slater goes to 50 with a single and up comes the Notts 100.

We've got some threatening, thick, grey cloud rolling in now...please don't...

  14. Hove 'prospects looking bleak'published at 13:41 BST 15 September

Still blowing a gale at Hove and this is now a health and safety issue with concerns over spectator safety.

The wind is not due to abate until later this evening and prospects for play are looking bleak.

There will be a further inspection at 2:30pm.

  15. Postpublished at 13:37 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 97-2

Matt Fisher goes past Joe Clarke's edge.

It just seems a different game for the batsmen since the interval.

A lot more noise coming from the Surrey fielders now as Fisher completes a maiden.

  16. Postpublished at 13:33 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 97-2

Dan Worrall goes past Ben Slater's outside edge twice.

We talked earlier about the ball doing more at The Oval once the lacquer has gone off it.

We may just be seeing the game swinging back to the home side a little.

Slater then jabs his bat down on one and somehow it runs away for four.

  17. 'The breakthrough Surrey were looking for'published at 13:30 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 93-2

    Roland Butcher
Former England batter on BBC Radio Surrey

That's the breakthrough that Surrey have been looking for.

Matt Fisher has left some of those deliveries outside the off stump but on this occasion Freddie McCann is forced to play, gets a little nick and Ben Foakes does the rest.

The stubborn McCann has played well but when he gets into the pavilion he'll realise that he didn't play this one particularly well. His feet were actually moving towards the legside when he ended up fending away from his body.

It was a good piece of bowling by Fisher but I would imagine that if McCann takes a look at that he will realise that he also contributed to his own downfall.

  18. Postpublished at 13:30 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 93-2

Joe Clarke is off the mark with a boundary.

Matt Fisher has that second wicket Surrey needed.

    A breakthrough.

Matt Fisher angles one into Freddie McCann from around the wicket.

it nips away and McCann gets a feather through to Ben Foakes.

What idiot said they needed some variation? Cough...(1:24pm)

Joe Clarke strides out into the London sunshine.

  20. 'I've been impressed by the approach of these batters'published at 13:25 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 86-1

    Roland Butcher
Former England batter on BBC Radio Surrey

I think they have played very sensibly in difficult conditions. They've not only assessed the conditions well but have also assessed the situation well and building a partnership. I think Notts will target 300.
