    Gus AtkinsonImage source, Rex Features

That feels like a big wicket.

Gus Atkinson has got it swinging and Joe Clarke gets the edge through to Ben Foakes.

Clarke had looked dangerous so Surrey will be happy with that.

Lyndon James joins Kyle Verreynne at the wicket

  2. Postpublished at 14:51 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 141-4

Tom Curran is fine after hobbling away from his previous over.

Kyle Verreynne wallops a wide one away for four.

Those threatening clouds I mentioned a few overs ago seem to have passed over.

It's just weird we're the only game in town so far today.

  3. Latest from Hovepublished at 14:48 BST 15 September

Sussex v Yorkshire - start delayed

They're not giving up without a fight at Hove.

Another inspection has been scheduled for 3:30pm.

Let's hope all their waiting is not in vain.

  4. Postpublished at 14:47 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 136-4

Just the single from the latest Gus Atkinson over.

It's been Surrey's afternoon so far.

  5. Postpublished at 14:44 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 135-4

    Another bowling change for Surrey.

Tom Curran has the ball for the first time since lunch.

    Three runs from the over.

Curran seemed to land heavily in his follow through to the final ball and hobbles away.

  6. Postpublished at 14:42 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 132-4

Kyle Verreynne keeps out the final ball of Gus Atkinson's over.

Surrey have taken three wickets for 57 runs since lunch.

  7. 'Atkinson in no doubt there'published at 14:42 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 132-4

    Roland Butcher
Former England batter on BBC Radio Surrey

Just as the partnership was developing Gus Atkinson was in no doubt that he's got his man.

I think this one would have just straighten a bit, perhaps he didn't get far enough forward.

It was a good delivery and Atkinson didn't even look at the umpire. He knew that was plumb!

  8. Play abandoned at Old Traffordpublished at 14:39 BST 15 September

    Lancs v Middx

The umpires had a look at 14:30 and have concluded that that is that for day one – play abandoned without a ball being bowled.

It's especially bad news for Middlesex who have an outside chance of promotion if they can win and Derbyshire beat Glamorgan, which would take it into the final round of games.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:37 BST 15 September

    Haynes lbw b Atkinson 13 (Surrey v Notts 132-4)

    Jack HaynesImage source, Rex

    Gus Atkinson returns and strikes.

He goes past the edge of Jack Haynes' bat but then traps him in front.

Atkinson doesn't look round to see the finger go up, he knows and so does Haynes.

Kyle Verreynne walks out to the middle.

  10. Update from Chester-le-Streetpublished at 14:36 BST 15 September

    Durham v Worcs

Sort of a good news bulletin from CLS where the rain has stopped and there will another inspection at 15:00.

  11. Postpublished at 14:36 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 132-3

The crack from Joe Clarke's bat reverberates around The Oval - four runs? No, a brilliant stop at cover.

He's such a good player to watch when he's in full flow.

This one is four though as Tom Lawes drops short and Clarke helps it on its way.

Four more as the Notts man just leans into a drive.

It's surprising so see he's only made one first-class century this season.

Gus Atkinson is back on for Surrey.

  12. "He's getting it to nip back in"published at 14:36 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 123-3

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Matt Fisher is into a lovely rhythm here. Fisher is all over Joe Clarke at the moment, like a rash!

Clarke is trying to find a way to get to the other end.

  13. Postpublished at 14:30 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 123-3

    Matt Fisher continues for Surrey.

A big appeal from bowler, wicketkeeper and slips as it strikes Joe Clarke on the pads.

Too high and heading down legside - otherwise he was plum.

Clarke picks up two runs from the final ball of the over.

  14. Postpublished at 14:26 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 121-3

Tom Lawes replaces Dan Worrall in the Surrey attack.

Jack Haynes (12*) seems to be dealing solely in boundaries as he drives one away to the point fence off the back foot.

I don't like the look of some of these clouds...

  15. Day one abandoned at Bristolpublished at 14:25 BST 15 September

Gloucestershire v Northamptonshire - no play on day one

County Ground, BristolImage source, Getty Images

The Division Two game at Bristol is the first to fall by the wayside.

Gloucestershire say there is no prospect of play because of "adverse weather conditions, with high winds and heavy rain".

    They will try again tomorrow.

Gloucestershire are still, mathematically, not out of the promotion picture, but they are 34 points adrift of second-placed Glamorgan and it would take a remarkable turn of events for them to make the top two.

  16. 'I think we're going to get more rain'published at 14:25 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 117-3

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

I think we're going to get more rain any minute now, it looks horrible coming this way.

  17. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 117-3

A maiden over from Matt Fisher in which he goes past Joe Clarke's outside edge.

It might be time for Fisher to take a break.

The cloud cover has moved back in.

  18. Postpublished at 14:18 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 117-3

It's Dan Worrall's turn to over pitch and Jack Haynes isn't going to miss out as he sends it away to the cover rope.

A few boundaries being leaked by Surrey in the past few overs.

  19. Latest from Derbypublished at 14:14 BST 15 September

Derbyshire v Glamorgan - start delayed

The umpires had a look at 2:00pm at Derby and.....

...they're going to do it again at 3:00pm.

Remember, a win with at least 19 points in this game will guarantee promotion for Glamorgan.

  20. Postpublished at 14:14 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 113-3

Matt Fisher continues with his excellent spell since lunch.

But he gets it wrong with the third ball as he over pitches and Joe Clarke drives him away for four runs.

Fisher's comeback is to jag one back into Clarke and strike him on the thigh pad.
