    Warks 86-2 - target 388 v Sussex

Into the final knockings at Edgbaston and Rob Yates has gone to a 69-ball fifty with 10 fours to ensure no late drama.

After his first-inning 115, that's a solid start for Yates.

    Essex 582-6d v Surrey 365 & 204-5

Essex bring on Matt Critchley to replace Jamie Porter.

    Surrey trail by 13 runs.

We have a minimum of 13 overs remaining but if Surrey get ahead of Essex and were to be bowled out we would lose two overs for the change in innings so the odds on a home win are decreasing.

They need wickets and they need them now...

Argue the point if you like, the reverse sweep is not a percentage shot.

Marcus Harris, the senior batsman for Lancashire in this chase, top edges and Leus du Plooy dives forward at point/square leg to take the catch in two hands.

George Balderson comes out to join Luke Wells.

    Somerset 670-7d v Worcs 154 & 460-8 - trail by 56

Matthew Waite has just the five close-in fielders in his eyeline on the offside as Jack Leach jogs in for his 55th over of the innings.

He clips it simply into the legside and gets back for an easy two runs to move to 73 off 262 balls.

This has been a remarkable rearguard action from the visitors - we're 180 overs in.

Tom Taylor has seven (SEVEN) fielders plus wicketkeeper James Rew for close company. Hope he's not claustrophobic.

It is not taking much to excite the Somerset men as Archie Vaughan probes away, drawing a few false shots from the Pears tailender.

    But still no wicket.

We're into the final hour. Can the Pears survive?

You sense that Luke Wells is getting just a little fed up about being tied down by Zafar Gohar's spin.

He tries a reverse sweep but can't beat the fielder. An attempt to drive a wide one results in a thick edge but it brings him two runs.

Gohar thinks he has him caught at short leg from the last one of the over but the umpire decides no bat was involved.
