    Warwickshire safely see out eight overs to tea through Rob Yates and Alex Davies.

    There should now be another hour of gentle batting to do after the break until a draw can be declared.

    Surrey go through the session without losing a wicket and without really looking like losing one.

    Since edging the first ball of the day just out of the reach of slip Dom Dibley has done what Dom Sibley does which is occupy the crease and accumulate quietly.

    Essex failed to remove Ben Foakes in the first innings and are having the same issue again.

    It was always going to be a tall order to take 20 wickets on this surface and that's how it's proving.

    It looked like this game may have been edging towards a draw by mid-afternoon, thanks to a gutsy partnership from Colin Ackermann and Graham Clark.

    They put on 145 for the sixth wicket and appeared to have piloted their side to calmer waters, only for everything to go a bit Josh Tongue! (We have to thank a listener for that one).

    Clark was on 62 when he was bowled at the start of the 80th over, and Tongue then through the rest of the Durham order. He took four wickets for four runs in two overs, including Ackermann for 124.

    Durham lost 5-21 in six and a half overs and were all out to leave themselves with a lead of just 88 runs. Tongue finished with 5-66.

    I said Durham needed to bat until well after tea to save this one. But they didn't.

  4. Notts need 89 to beat Durham

    At 268-5 and Colin Ackermann going very well with Graham Clark Durham were moving into safer territory.

    But they were always vulnerable having conceded such a hefty first-innings lead.

    And so it proved as Notts ripped out 5-21 in just 38 balls. Josh Tongue claiming 5-66.

    The hosts should now mop up this small target to claim an opening round win.

    Marcus Harris off-drives Zafar Gohar for four to get off the mark.

    The Australian is using his feet to try and negate Gohar's spin and nudges the final one of the over to mid-on for a single.

    Lancashire need 207 off 41 overs to win.

    Ooh, Matthew Waite edges Archie Vaughan just wide of Lewis Gregory at slip and away for four runs.

    We've got eight minutes until tea which would be another landmark for the visitors.

    Hands-up who had this one going to the final session of the fourth day after Tom Banton's antics?

    Put your hand down, I don't believe you!

    Suddenly the Lancashire run-chase is unravelling and Middlesex may now be fancying their chances.

    Matty Hurst comes out to join Marcus Harris - three wickets have gone down for nine runs.

    Fergus O'Neill with the final wicket and Notts have created mayhem in the last half hour.

    Matty Potts pushed forward too keenly and nudges sharp chance back to the bowler's chest and he clings on well.

    It leaves Notts just 89 to win after tea.

    Ben Foakes nudges a single followed by Dom Sibley unfurling a straight drive for four runs.
