With five minutes remaining, this seems to be the last over of the day. It hasn't been crash, bang and wallop, as England have been measured and accumulating runs and they got what they wanted to get out of the day.

  2. Eng 539-7published at 134 overs

Ben Stokes drives past Ravindra Jadeja to take a single off the spinner.

The one scoring shot from those six deliveries - we should get one more over today.

  4. Eng 538-7published at 133 overs

    Lead by 180

Ben Stokes drives Jasprit Bumrah through the covers, and Yashasvi Jaiswal chases well on the boundary ensuring England can only run three.

We haven't had a boundary since the start of the 127th over, with England happy to steadily build their lead late in the day.

  5. Eng 534-7published at 132 overs

Ravindra Jadeja replaces Mohammed Siraj despite the seamer taking the wicket of Chris Woakes in his previous over.

A single for each batter sit either side of four dot balls to Liam Dawson, who finishes the over on 18 from 45 deliveries.

Loving the state of Liam Dawson's bat. Tape, cracks, big red stain on it. Such a refreshing change from all the immaculate willows used by the established Test players. Reminds me of the bats we had in my old school team's bag.

Ben Stokes, after coming back out, hasn't really had a go at the bowlers like we thought he would. He's been disciplined and just accumulating runs rather than quickly getting the lead over 200.

  8. Eng 532-7published at 131 overs

Just one run from Jasprit Bumrah's 27th over, a Ben Stokes single through square.

Bumrah has now conceded 91 runs in the innings - he's never cost 100 runs in a Test innings.

    Lead by 172

Mohammed Siraj greets Ben Stokes with a bouncer, which the England captain pulls out to fine leg for a single.

A further pulled single comes later in the over for Stokes, who isn't moving especially smoothly it has to be said.

This is now the longest England have batted in a Test innings in England under captain Stokes.

The only other time they have batted more overs in an innings during this period was in Multan in 2024 when they amassed 823-7d in 150 overs.

Seven down, you have done the bulk of the work, it's time to go all guns blazing now and get the lead over 200 especially with Ben Stokes back out in the middle.

'He's deserved that!' - Siraj bowls Woakes as England fall to seven

    Kept low!

Mohammed Siraj's opening delivery barely lifts off the pitch and breaks through Chris Woakes' defences.

Siraj does a Cristiano Ronaldo-style celebration - it's his first wicket of the innings in his 25th over, having conceded 105 runs.

And look who's walking out to bat - it's Ben Stokes, recovered from his cramp issues.

  16. Eng 528-6published at 129 overs

Jasprit Bumrah's last ball is a yorker that Liam Dawson blocks out.

The India seamer appeals for an lbw, he thinks it was pad first, but with Shubman Gill off the field temporarily KL Rahul isn't going to risk India's final review.
