Leg slip is a really awkward place to field.

The dropped catches have been of varying degrees of difficulty but when you are trying to win a game...

It was a very difficult chance. Slow motion replays are never kind.

Duckett moved well, saw it. It hit his wrist rather than go in the middle of the hand.

  3. dropped catch

Jaiswal dropped on 110published at 57.4 overs

Are we calling that a drop? Probably so.

It came very fast and very low to the left of Ben Duckett and he just about got his fingertips to it. True to form, the ball races away to the rope.

Why are folks blaming the England bowlers for the score? Yes, it has been loose, could be more threatening. But if the ball comes your way, you catch it. Catches win matches is an old saying, but it's true. Those drops have been costly

  6. drinks break

    Drinks - Ind 246-5published at 57 overs

A messy over from England. A leg bye, a no ball, and four byes.

India lead by 223 runs, with Yashasvi Jaiswal on 109 (142) and Ravindra Jadeja on 6 (10).

Pop the kettle on. Time for drinks.

  7. Ind 239-5published at 56 overs

Ravindra Jadeja is rapid. He pierces a gap in the covers and collects three.

Expect plenty of running from India's sixth-wicket pair.

  8. Ind 234-5published at 55 overs

Yashasvi Jaiswal had some hamstring trouble on the stroke of lunch and he's reached for his left leg again after crunching a drive through the covers.

His latest partner is Ravindra Jadeja, who has scores of 29*, 69*, 61*, and 107* in the second innings this series.

It is a bit of extra bounce. It is such a timid stroke. All teams can challenge Karun Nair in and around that off stump.

Joe Root is having a good chat to the team and he will be saying, 'Look lads, this pitch is doing plenty. We could probably bowl India out in an hour or two'.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 54.3 overs

    Nair c Smith b Atkinson 17 (Ind 229-5)

Fortunately for England, Jamie Smith has a safe pair of hands behind the stumps.

Karun Nair can't capitalise on his lifeline. He is undone by that extra bit of bounce that Gus Atkinson keeps finding in the surface.

Sheepish faces all around in the England camp.

Jamie Overton squares Karun Nair up, on the back foot and it goes low down to Harry Brook's right and Zak Crawley puts him off by going to his left.

That is probably the hardest of the five that England have put down.

  13. dropped catch

Nair dropped on 12published at 53.4 overs

Oh dear. It's another drop in the slips for England.

It's low down in between second and third slip. Zak Crawley, left hand outstretched, dives across Harry Brook. The ball carries to Brook but he can't hold on.

Karun Nair didn't even start running for the single until the ball hit the ground.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the fifth opening batter to register two or more centuries in a Test series in England before turning 24 years old.

The four others: Len Hutton, Alastair Cook, Graeme Smith and Tamim Iqbal.

Looking at Karun Nair - has he got a gear where he can go up?

I am waiting to see that.

I think he is quite nice to bowl to.

  16. Ind 224-4published at 53 overs

India's lead has gone beyond 200. It now stands at 201 runs.

Is the Test match gone for England as Mark (@14:26) says? What would they be happy chasing?

This Test match has gone, and so has another five-match series. England are simply not good enough, especially in the bowling department. Could easily be a whitewash down under this winter.

  18. Ind 221-4published at 52 overs

Jamie Overton returns to the attack, replacing Josh Tongue.

His third ball is signalled a wide and Yashasvi Jaiswal follows it up with a boundary. Tale as old as time, as Mrs Potts sings in Beauty and the Beast.

Realistically, England need to be batting tonight if they want to win the game.

  20. Ind 216-4published at 51 overs

Karun Nair's first boundary (in the 49th over) was unconvincing.

His second was probably the best shot of his innings so far. Tickled off his pads and around a diving Jamie Smith for four.
