  1. NZ 121-3published at 29 overs

Spin from both ends as Sune Luus is brought into the attack for South Africa.

She bowls a tight line and starts with four dot balls before Sophie Devine and Brooke Halliday nudge a single apiece.

Brooke Halliday is just clinical with bad balls. Just simple play really.

  3. NZ 119-3published at 28 overs

Brooke Halliday with a positive start against Chloe Tryon.

The New Zealand batter clinically punishes a delivery down the leg side by helping the ball on its way, down on one knee.

Later in the over Halliday crisply reverse sweeps Tryon for another four.

  4. NZ 109-3published at 27 overs

Nonkululeko Mlaba with a disciplined over as South Africa look to turn the screw.

Brooke Halliday and Sophie Devine pick up four singles off the over.

Hard to say what is a good score here.

Georgia Plimmer wanted to get going an increase the scoring rate. Her intention would have been to hit site-screen or mid-off. I think her intention was there, she just didn't manage to pull it off.

    Plimmer c de Klerk b Tryon 31 (NZ 101-3)

Chloe Tryon into the attack for South Africa and she strikes with her fourth delivery!

Georgia Plimmer was looking to dance down the pitch to the spinner earlier in the over but didn't quite connect to one that's tossed up by Tryon.

It's a similar story here as she goes down town but does not quite get the distance on it and Nadine de Klerk pouches the catch at long on.

    Thanks, Matthew. Top stint.

A bit of a war of attrition so far. With eight wickets in hand New Zealand will look to up the ante now you would imagine.

  8. NZ 101-2published at 25 overs

Just as Fran Wilson compliments South Africa's fielding, they miss another run-out chance. Georgia Plimmer would have been out had this throw hit.

It's time for me to step aside and let Timothy Abraham take you to the end of this innings.

South Africa have been really sharp in the field, they are a very athletic team, which is becoming more and more important because the standards are getting higher in the women's game.

  10. NZ 99-2published at 24 overs

Would 250 be enough? South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt said this pitch will be good for chasing?

And, for me, it's about the pressure you're adding to your partner.

If you're scoring at three runs per over yourself then the batters at the other end are going to have to do a lot of heavy lifting to get anywhere near 250.

Why is everyone so obsessed with stroke rates? Plimmer doing just fine. 100 not out after 50, NZ 250 plus and very much in the driving seat?

I think Plimmer, now, will want to go again and try and get mid-off back. It gives her an easy rotation option.

Ah this is nice from Georgia Plimmer. She has decide attacking the spin of Mlaba is the way to go.

First she uses her feet and takes two slightly awkwardly over extra cover but then she repeats the shot and times it perfectly down the ground for four.

Much better from the 21-year-old and a thumbs up from Devine at the non-striker's end which must feel like a warm hug.

Sophie Devine beating her thigh with a glove after this over, having been tied down by five consecutive delivery from Ayabonga Khaka. Khaka looks pleased with her work as she collects her cap.

We are getting a sense that Plimmer is becoming frustrated with the position she finds herself in.

  16. NZ 86-2published at 21 overs

    Plimmer 22, Devine 24

Sophie Devine has so much experience, this being her 300th international. The one thing she cannot do is allow the pressure from the other end to transfer onto her. Georgia Plimmer tries to use her feet in this over to Mlaba but only gets a thick edge.

There's been a noticeable increase in New Zealand's intent since drinks with their run rate for the past five overs at 6.4.

  18. NZ 82-2published at 20 overs

We're heading into that middle phase of the innings where more singles should be on offer to keep the score moving. Sophie Devine has the same score at Plimmer, despite batting for half of the deliveries.

  19. NZ 78-2published at 19 overs

    Plimmer 21, Devine 20

Georgia Plimmer has her first boundary for 10 overs. It comes after the introduction of spin for the first time through Nonkululeko Mlaba with Plimmer flicking a straighter ball down towards the brightly coloured seats at fine leg.

Indian stadiums do colour better than most.

Sophie Devine is on the charge! This is more like it.

A flick through mid-wicket and then a textbook punch back past the stumps.

It's off Marizanne Kapp too - South Africa's trump card who has been brought back to try and dismiss the New Zealand skipper.
