Southern Brave will be watching this quite keenly.

They will have the benefit of being able to hatch plans to take on someone who is in the form and confidence of Davina Perrin.

  2. Spirit 139-6published at 20 balls left

Need 76 runs from 20 balls

The rain is back again and the gloom has descended. Superchargers would probably point to that as a reason for their sloppy fielding.

    We're continuing for now.

  3. Spirit 134-6published at 25 balls left

Need 81 runs from 25 balls

Hmmm. What were we saying? A fumble in the ring and then Davina Perrin and Grace Ballinger both leave a loopy catch for each other. If the game was on the line there would be some angry words being spoken.

Although Northern Superchargers have been dominant in this game, they have also been sloppy with the ball in hand and in the field at times.

I know the game was done halfway through this innings, but it has been a bit slip slap slop out there.

  5. dropped catch

Down! Grace Ballinger at short third. He parries it rather than catching it. As good as this win will be, Superchargers have not been perfect.

  6. Spirit 119-6published at 35 balls left

If Harry Brook gets going on this pitch he might get 150. He scored a ton in the Tests here a month ago, of course.

Most boundaries in a women's Hundred game:

    • 56 - today
    • 50 - Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire, Southampton 2023
    • 49 - Northern Superchargers vs Manchester Originals, Leeds 2022
  8. Spirit 116-6published at 40 balls left

    Need 99 from 40 balls

If Spirit were chasing the previous best total in the women's Hundred they'd be decently placed. This, though, is just going to be too big a task and that's all down to Davina Perrin's fireworks and that Nic Carey boost late on. Georgia Redmayne has 20 from 10 balls for Spirit.

Linsey Smith was expensive there, three boundaries coming off her lot of five balls is very unlike her. She will be gathering her thoughts as she races to the boundary.

As a bowler, I suppose you would rather have a bad day today than tomorrow.

  10. Spirit 101-6published at 45 balls left

Need 109 runs to 45 balls

Linsey Smith concedes three boundaries in this latest set of five as her up and down tournament continues. He went for runs v Oval Invincibles last Saturday too. The DLS score at this point is 135.

  11. Spirit 92-6published at 50 balls left

    Target 215

The men's players have arrived at The Oval. The rain seems to have stopped - or at least eased. That game doesn't start until 6pm, however.

I would much rather see London Spirit get bowled out trying to chase this total down rather than pat their way to a 140 run total.

This is knockout cricket - it is do or die and run rate doesn't matter now.

  13. wicket

London Spirit keep swinging but the task is just too great. Issy Wong falls having looped a catch to cover.

If I was Southern Brave, I wouldn't be watching this match because what does it matter if Davina Perrin scores 100 runs today?

If they have watched this game, all it's going to have done is give them a little bit of fear going into tomorrow.

  15. Spirit 85-5published at 55 balls left

Need 130 more runs from 55 balls

Davina Perrin lets one under her body at backward point to allow new batter Issy Wong an early boundary. I think she's still in credit.

A wicket London Spirit didn't necessarily need. The pressure was building on Northern Superchargers ever so slightly and Charli Knott was striking the ball ever so well.

She tried to give herself room to hit through the covers, as she has done on a number of occasions, but she just chipped the ball to the safe hands of Linsey Smith.

With that wicket, Northern Superchargers have booked their place in tomorrow's final.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 58 balls left

    Knott c Smith b Carey 40 (Spirit 79-5)

And that should be the game.

Charli Knott, who has played superbly, slaps a wider ball to extra cover. She departs for 40 from 16 balls.

Cordelia Griffith was trying to heave that into the leg side but she just chipped it to mid-off and it was a pretty simple catch in the end. It was a good knock from her, she needed some runs and she did just that.

Northern Superchargers needed that wicket to make sure that DLS score is even more.

Umbrellas aplenty up now but the umpires are keeping them out there for the time being.

And that's why, most of them are down again now.

Now Spirit are four down the DLS score after 40 balls is 96. Spirit are well behind.
