That should settle any Superchargers nerves. Cordelia Griffith skies an Annabel Sutherland full toss. The DLS score zooms into the distance for Spirit now.

It's not easy to catch in these slippy circumstances. Alice Davidson-Richards spills the catch at mid-off.

After the first couple of wickets, I did think we might be in for an early finish here but London Spirit are giving it a good nudge here. If there wasn't another ball bowled today, I would be happy.

Northern Superchargers need to be careful here. They will feel so comfortable because they have 200 plus runs on the board, but this 50-partnership has come off 20 balls. One wicket could change everything.

  5. Spirit 66-3published at 65 balls left

Need 149 runs from 65 balls

Linsey Smith responds with four deliveries that cost only three runs as the rain gets heavier.

  6. 6 runs

Spirit 63-3published at 69 balls left

Whacked over long-off for six. That DLS score isn't totally out of reach, you know.

  7. Spirit 57-3published at 70 balls left

The DLS par score after 30 balls when three wickets down was 74 which tells you how far behind the Spirit still remain.

It looks to be raining a little more now.

We will have a result now and there can be a fair inkling who it's going to be a positive result for.

London Spirit played some really nice strokes towards the end of the powerplay. They are realising you don't have to thrash across the line of the ball in order to get boundaries. It is a good pitch and the grass is making the ball just skid on.

They are playing some really eye-catching strokes, particularly down the ground.

  9. Spirit 52-3published at 72 balls left

Three more fours in a row to Cordelia Griffith! This pitch is a road.

  10. Spirit 44-3published at 15:58 British Summer Time 30 August

    Need 171 from 75 balls

It's getting darker by the minute at The Oval. The reflection of the floodlights are currently gleaming off Charli Knott's helmet. Knott, to her credit, is playing nicely and Cordelia Griffith joins in by whacking Kate Cross for four.

That's 25 balls done, which means there will be a winner even if the rain arrives.

89 runs is the biggest margin of victory in terms of runs in the history of the women's Hundred, by Southern Brave vs Oval Invincibles at Southampton in 2025.

  12. Spirit 34-3published at 80 balls left

    Target 215

Charli Knott greets compatriot Annabel Sutherland by hitting four boundaries in a row to throw the ultimate of consolation counter punches. Spirit are still behind the required scoring rate and have lost three wickets.

Skipper Charlie Dean looks glum in the dugout.

Will Southern Brave, awaiting for tomorrow's final, be watching this? Danni Wyatt-Hodge tweeted some praise for Davina Perrin earlier. Would they even be a little worried? I would be. But I'm not a professional sportsperson.

And another. This is a thrashing.

There is plenty of movement in the crowd with people quickly putting on jackets - and the first umbrella has just popped up to my right.

    The rain has arrived...

  16. Spirit 11-2published at 90 balls left

Need 204 runs to win from 90 balls

There's a race on for Superchargers to bowl the 25 balls needed for there to be a result before the rain arrives but it won't actually matter. They finished above Spirit in the group table so will go through if there's no result anyway.

Dani Gibson has also been pushed up the order for Spirit.

That's now eight powerplay wickets for Kate Cross in this season's competition, bettered only by Marizanne Kapp (nine in 2023) in a Hundred campaign.

It's six and out for Kira Chathli. This time she hits Kate Cross' first ball into the hands of deep square leg.

Superchargers are loving life. They're heading to the final.

Grace Ballinger has the most swing in the women's competition this year. That ball just swung back into the off stump of Grace Harris, who was just shaping up to thrash it down the ground and was beaten by that shape.

The cunning plan to send Grace Harris in to make the most of the deliveries has ended in her downfall.

  20. 6 runs

Spirit 7-1published at 95 balls left

    Target 215

London Spirit are going to swinging - they have to. There's no point doing otherwise. Kira Chathli, another who has been in good form this year, slogs it over mid-wicket.
