Rehan Ahmed is being well spoken about in England camps and a call-up for the Ashes might not too unlikely. He is having an excellent tournament so far and continuing to make a name for himself.

An attempted leg-cutter from Dillon Pennington was picked easily by Will Jacks and he slaps that away through the off-side with ease to the fence.

It really is wild to think England have left Jordan Cox out of their white-ball squads for their matches next month, especially since one of the series is a depleted group going to Ireland. He's in such good nick. Here he waits and waits on a Dillon Pennington slower ball and crashes it for four through the covers.

Trent Rockets are on the back foot here. Yes they got one wicket in the powerplay, but the ball has been crunched to all parts of the ground.

Oval Invincibles, who are looking for the three-peat, have got off to an absolute flier.

Sam Billings said on Friday Jordan Cox has put on 11kg this year to help his boundary-hitting. That is some effort and it appears to be working as he gets an early four slashed away to continue the form from the group stage.

It's a reasonable end to the powerplay for Trent Rockets with David Willey halting the flow of boundaries. Still, Invincibles have had the better of it.

Trent Rockets' Joe Root speaking on the player mic: "Dillon Pennington wasn't playing about 20 minutes before this started, so that's a great start!

"Lockie Ferguson's hamstring went in the warm-ups which was a real shame. He is a huge threat for us, a brilliant competitor and a world-class performer. On a big stage like this, you want those big guys available but for Pennington to come in and make an impact straightaway is brilliant.

"We just need to get back into our work now and sneak one more in this powerplay or at least soon."

Jordan Cox has had an outstanding season for Invincibles, with over 300 runs and a 178 strike rate along with it.

However, he has a poor record at Lordʼs: in 11 T20s/Hundred matches here for Essex, Kent, and Oval Invincibles, heʼs averaged just 23 with a strike rate of 110.

Dillon Pennington will be absolutely delighted with that! Tawanda Muyeye was looking in really good form out there.

That ball just got the thick outside edge. It was short and Muyeye was trying to hit that over extra cover.

A fantastic start for Pennington - first ball, wicket!

Thrashed through the covers by Will Jacks to give Pennington something to think about. Jordan Cox, the batter of the tournament, is off the mark at the other end.

This could be a crucial partnership but there is plenty of other threats in this Invincibles line-up.

Dillon Pennington called up at the final hour. First ball and he strikes. A good length delivery and Muyeye feathers one behind.

Called in at the last minute and a wicket with his first ball of the tournament!

"He wasn't playing 10 minutes before the start," says Joe Root on the player mic. Dillon Pennington is only playing because Lockie Ferguson tweaked a hammy in the warm-up.

Now he gets an edge from Tawanda Muyeye.

The change to spin does not work.

First Tawanda Muyeye sends one into orbit - insert Rockets pun here - for four and then he plays a more cultured cut over the top of cover for four more.

Setting run targets has been quite hard in the men's tournament this year and teams have found it hard knowing what a 'good' score is.

The balls are swinging a little bit more this year than previously. There was a lot of talk about it being due to the 'H' stamp on the ball, but that's gone and it's swinging a little bit more now!
