Qiana Joseph (31 from 18), Deandra Dottin (28* from 15) and Chinelle Henry (18* from 10) helped their side wrap up the win in 11.4 overs.

The West Indies approach was in sharp contrast to India on this pitch earlier in the day, as Harmanpreet Kaur's side took until the 19th over to chase down 105.

Both sides had heavy losses in the opening encounters, but the West Indies have done good work to improve their net run-rate in groups where only two sides progress.

  5. 'A really good win'published at 17:57 British Summer Time 6 October

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews: "First of all, it does our net run-rate some justice. As a group, starting with the ball and restricting them to 99 was good to see, the way Qiana Joseph came out was really positive in the powerplay and Chinelle [Henry] and Deandra [Dottin] at the end, a really good win.

"We did pretty well, we limited the boundary balls as much as possible. Areas we can still improve on, but the bowlers were able to bowl to their fields today.

"If we got ourselves in a secure position we could push on. I unfortunately didn't get going, but when we were in a strong position Chinelle and Deandra could push on.

"Just take one game at a time. We have two crucial games, if we win we can get into the semi-finals."

  6. 'It was tricky out there'published at 17:56 British Summer Time 6 October

Kathryn Bryce: "It was a pretty good performance in the field, we felt in the game and it was a tricky pitch but with their firepower it was going to be tricky. With a low total like that you have to take every opportunity.

"It was tricky out there, we didn't get a good start, getting shape on the ball made it tricky and the slow outfield meant boundaries were hard. 120 would have been a good score.

"It is a difficult stage to be trying things out out there, it is a big learning curve taking this forward."

  7. 'It was about giving us a good start'published at 17:51 British Summer Time 6 October

Player of the match Chinelle Henry: "I knew that up front with the new ball it was about giving us a good start, and with the bat it was about improving the net run rate so it was about backing our skills and executing.

"Bowling first it was a bit slow so it was about attacking the batters, attacking the wickets bowling and bowling as straight as possible."

I'm just looking down at the pitch and the Scottish players that haven't played are just getting their loads up.

They are just trying to make the most of everything in this World Cup. They will be disappointed to have played their first two games and not got a win, but I think they showed some positives out there.

West Indies just outdid them in all departments today.

After seeing their score chased down within 17.5 overs by South Africa on Friday, the West Indies have done some good work to repair their net run-rate and put themselves back in contention in Group B.

They now sit top of the pool, ahead of England and South Africa who have only played one game apiece, their run-rate moving from -0.773 to 1.154.

I don't think Scotland need to be humiliated by that defeat, albeit that it has been done with 8.2 overs to spare.

They showed intent and they tried with the bat, but they came up against a formidable West Indies tonight. They went after Scotland, they went out there to win the game as quickly as they could.

That final six was the biggest of the lot of them!

She gets down on one knee and does that slog sweep that we have seen her do so much in world cricket. That was huge! I would love to see how big that one was.

What an impressive batting display from the West Indies. Every batter that came in, came in with intent. I don't think Scotland bowled that badly, but West Indies came in with that intent.

West Indies sped their way to victory - showing ambition, intent and great skill.

That's what we are all sat around this stadium for - it is such a shame 92% of the audience that was here earlier, actually isn't here anymore to see it!

And Dottin finishes with a six!

Dottin reverse sweeps a four through backward point, then crashes Maqsood into the stands at mid-wicket to finish the match in short order.

A spectacular display of hitting from Dottin to see her side home in the 12th over - she finishes on 28 from 15.

That was a brilliant shot! Over-pitched again!

The Scottish bowlers, every time they have over-pitched, the West Indies have capitalised. Deandra Dottin hit the ball so hard that her helmet almost fell off her own head.

That's what we want to see.

    Smoked it!

A huge six from Deandra Dottin, firing Abtaha Maqsood down the ground - that didn't just clear the ropes, it was over the advertising boards too.

Lovely shot from Henry - she is having a great day out!

She bowled beautifully in the bowling innings, bowling four in a row. Now she has hit a couple of boundaries already and she is batting really well.

  18. WI 81-4published at 10.4 overs

    19 needed off 56 balls

Chinelle Henry wastes no time getting going after the interval, cracking Kathryn Bryce for consecutive fours.

The first past mid-off, the second cut to the boundary at third.

    27 needed from 60 balls

A quieter over to take us into the drinks break as Abtaha Maqsood restricts the West Indies batters to a couple of singles.

The West Indies require just 2.7 an over from here - I'm not sure they'll take it through to the 20th, though.

The West Indies girls are really clear in what they want to do tonight.

That one was slightly over-pitched by Olivia Bell and this time Chinelle Henry goes big. We have seen a couple of sixes in this innings so far.

That was a 76-metre six from Henry, after bowling beautifully!
