K Bryce c Ramharack b Fletcher 25 (Sco 76-5)
Just as Scotland look to be having a good over, Kathryn Bryce spoils it by lifting Fletcher's last ball to mid off, Ramharack moving to her right to take an easy catch.
Lorna Jack is comfortably home for a quick single, then she steps down the track to drill Fletcher to the cover point boundary.
Kathryn Bryce gets a much-needed boundary, lifting Karishma Ramharack back over the umpire for four.
Scotland are going to need a lot more of that to post a testing target.

Scotland have just got to do a bit of rebuilding here. They have still got time, with seven overs left, so they need to just try to re-establish a partnership in these next few overs.
That will give them a platform going into maybe the 16th over, so then they can go and have a real go.
Karishma Ramharack tosses one up and somehow it slips through Lorna Jack's defences, but it goes over the stumps. How did that one miss?
West Indies are really turning the screw here.
The hat-trick is avoided as Lorna Jack dabs the ball to leg for two.

That was closer than we thought.
That was more of a top spinner, something like Sarah Glenn would bowl.
Chatterji lbw b Fletcher 0 (Sco 59-4)
Replays confirm it was hitting leg stump, and Chatterji goes for a golden duck.
Afy Fletcher is on a hat-trick.

That fielding was really clever actually! I think Hayley Matthews actually said to Karishma Ramharack to go right back on the boundary, so she did, and then I think she moved Ramharack again for that ball.
She is obviously one of their better fielders, so it was a good bit of work from Hayley Matthews.
Chatterji is trapped in front first ball. She's given out but decides to review.
Lister c Ramharack b Fletcher 19 (59-3)
A catch sticks at last!
Ailsa Lister thrashes a full toss to deep mid-wicket and Ramharack takes it over shoulder with some nonchalance.

I'm racking my brains and I don't have the answer to those dropped catch stats.
One of the theories is that the sides dropping the catches - such as Bangladesh, Scotland, Pakistan and Sri Lanka - dropped 13 catches between them in that first day. It was all spread out pretty evenly.
Some would put it down to time on task - so the idea that they have limited time together and they don't always play in high pressure situations in front of crowds. Therefore, most of their time is spent on batting and bowling, but I don't think that stands up these days.
Teams now have more support than they have ever had before.

Do you think Hayley Matthews is absolutely fuming? I think I would be!
Lister pumps Matthews high over the umpire, and Henry spills another easy-looking catch.
Ailsa Lister goes up and over the infield, lifting Hayley Matthews towards the boundary, Aaliyah Alleyne does really well to stop a boundary but such is the state of the outfield that she can't really execute a slide like we might see ion English conditions.

In the first seven matches of this World Cup - and we have seen a few in this game as well - there have been 56 catches and 30 drops. That is a catch success rate of 65.1%.
At the same point in the last World Cup, there was an 83% catch success rate - so there is a big difference there.
It was 88% in the 2020 edition and 89% in the 2018 edition, so the catch success rate has got progressively worse, and quite dramatically so in this tournament.
Scotland amble past 50 off Afy Fletcher, both batters are trying to get the bowling away but it's accurate from whoever is on at the moment.

I've just been having a look at Stafanie Taylor. She hasn't been moving that well in the field today.
Just having a look at her chase earlier, I think she was grimacing slightly and now she has put a dive in which she took quite a long time to get up from.
Karishma Ramharack returns, also bowling in a cap like Hayley Matthews, and she keeps it fairly tight by conceding just six runs.
That's the halfway mark, not many runs on the board but at least Scotland haven't lost any more wickets after that early wobble.
